    Thanks for making the videos and its important that someone does! Someone who knows what they're talking about and is a real user of the software, such as yourself. I do hear some of the grouches about Customer Support as I've had similar experiences with my own DAW provider who now only supply it on a monthly rental basis which totally sucks. For this reason I am going to have to change - grrrrrr! - to another product and Samplitude looks a very good choice in its current iteration. I'd like to see a video about the virtual instruments on offer, especially the guitars and drums, if you might have time to make one. Kind thanks. Subscribed!

    Hi Marco, thanks again for your video.
    Can you say more about the integration of melodyne?
    Samplitude now comes with the esential version of melodyne, but I have the current studio version 4.x of melodyne. How can I integrate my studio version?
    And have you deinstalled version 4 of Samplitude manually or was the deinstalltion a part of the installation of version 5?

    I appreciate Your effort for Magix but imho offering all of this as a completely new program version is not quite very nice to put it mildly. Those features should be subject to a simple update of version 4. I mean, come on. A few minor improvements, a new reverb module and Vita instruments... this just does not qualify as another program version. I’m almost sure that the sound engine still does not allow for RUclips being open and active without muting the audio in Samplitude (and yes, I have all samplerates set up correctly, and yes, FL Studio does that normally). The plugin browser is the pita, previous was much faster. There is still nothing like „chord track” that is found in StudioOne and Cubase, and there is still zero compatibility with Music Maker soundpools. I constantly try to develop some love for this program and I do love Your videos, Marco, but I think You are alone in Your crusade and Magix don’t care much.

    • @MarcoPrimeau
      @MarcoPrimeau  4 года назад +3

      First, it's not a crusade. I'm not being paid for those videos, but I keep being asked about Samplitude so that's why I do more of them. Also, I do like the software more and more but I'm not blind to some little things that could be done better.. It's up to us to tell Magix what needs to be changed or be done better.. It took me time to be fonctionnal in it and at first I didn't like it at all. The primary reason I switched from Cakewalk is that Samplituded made me mix better. Object editor is very powerfull and automation is a breeze. Now I should say that when X4 came out, I didn't see a lot of differences either. Hard to get better than perfection ?? ah ah ah !! Within X4 many new things were added and tweaked by small revisions... I suspect it will happen with X5 as well. I'm not trying to convince you at all. We all need to use the tools that makes us produce good music what ever they are. Stay tune to the channel, I will get to other subjects for sure ;)

      @@MarcoPrimeau funny you should say you went from Cakewalk to Samplitude, as I did the same back when pro x 1 came out and Cakewalk was going under. I switched to Samplitude, but now that Cakewalk seems to really be back and getting updates all for free, I've actually just gone back to Cakewalk. I do still do some things in Samplitude (I'm on proX 4 suite and also do not believe this should have been a full version upgrade), like spectral editing and the auto e.q. matching, and of course mastering... but as far as mixing goes I now prefer Cakewalk😜

    I was just going to ask you about Pro X5!!! I think I will go ahead and upgrade. Thanks for this info, Marco.
    I do have a question: twice, during the mix down process, I wanted to change the global tempo of a song but somehow, most likely due to an oversight on my part, I ended up only changing the tempo of a section of the song. When I discovered what had happened, I attempted to fix it, but I ended up with the objects being out of sync with each other. Resetting the global tempo did not sync the objects back together. Each time I had to import the individual tracks into another project, and do a manual adjustment of the objects using time stretching to sync them back together with each other. Deleting the tempo markers at the top did not change anything and I could not undo because the mistake happened too far back.
    Maybe this is a problem most people do not have, but when it does happen it can cost you a lot of time. Thanks!

      1 - Respect to you, we all have our priorities and limitations. Being a recording studio with customers, I always try to be ahead of things to give the best services...
      2 - I honestly didn't try to load Independance in another DAW, did you try to pinpoint the vst file and direct you other daw to scan its folder ?
      3 - The playing of blobs in Melodyne depends on how you set the monitoring options. I mostly operate on no monitoring /peaks only, so I don't hear them either.. If you choose, monitoring track effects or hybrids, it should work.. Of course it uses some computer ressources, it may be erratic on older systems.. If you don't hear when you click on the note, you can at least play the song and hear the result. Also using the loop fonction can help..

      I hardly use Midi except for control functions ( mixer, eqs, vst synths etc ) so I care more for Audio functionality....object editing....the mixer....internal effects...supreme recording quality etc.
      And for pure Audio recording Samplitude is by far the best DAW....when you need outstanding MIDI sequencing you might want to go Fruity Loops, Cubase, Pro Logic etc...

    I'll tell you what's NOT new with Samplitude/Magix...They have TERRIBLE... and even more worthless customer support than ever! But I live in the US & I've heard rumors that because I live in the USA they simply don't want to bother with us. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because I've been using Samp for almost twenty years...starting with Version 6, which at the time was light years ahead of Pro Tools and still is. But for the but...I could write a book on how disappointed I am every time I upgrade hoping for a better experience and it has only gotten worse with time. I don't care how much bigger or better something is...if you fail to offer proper support...you have failed at your primary objective..."Back Your Product"! And now since Magix is running the show it has only gotten worse. As for me...early on with these frustrations I tried another another recording software but at that point I was so familiar with Samp it was like losing five or six years of my life to have to start all over again. I just couldn't do that...I just wanted to write, play, and record my tunes! So I stuck with Samp ,bit the bullet and avoided their support at all costs. We had US support for a while with Tim, but they screwed him over, and that was that. Anyway...long & short of it... "ATTENTION MAGIX" ... Stop trying to re-invent your own wheel, take a step back a version or two and refine that! And while you're doing that focus on refining your support group! If you're too arrogant to acknowledge this issue then you need to offer upgrades for FREE! You are doing business in spite of yourselves and it's truly amazing that you're still in business!

      @@MarcoPrimeau I just asked for the version...not the incept date or all that...we're not splitting hairs here, just the basics... Okay? Now...1) How long have you been working with Samp? 2) Have you tried to use the "Remove unused Samples" function yet? 3) Have you burned a CD yet? I'm stuck with ProX3 and it has enough problems that I refuse to upgrade any more for all the reasons I already mentioned. So we'll start with that and go from there.
