  • In this video, we will show you how easy it is to grow bell peppers in containers from store-bought fresh bell peppers.
Using this method you will reduce waste, and save money.
Here are some additional essential tips and requirements for a successful harvest:
    1. You’ll want to start your seeds growing about six or seven weeks before the last frost expected for your area.
    2. It is important to note that bell peppers like a warm and moist environment. So, place them under a temperature between 80-85°F (22-29°C). Placing the seeds under these temperatures helps speed up the germination time.
    3. Peppers should be planted in a location that receives 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
    4. Mix compost or other organic matter into the soil when planting.
    5. Water immediately after planting, then regularly throughout the season.
    6. Bell pepper seeds can take up to 2-3 weeks to germinate, so be patient and continue watering the soil.
    7. Bell peppers usually can be harvested about 60-90 days after transplanting. Green peppers are the least mature and the most bitter - but if you leave a green pepper to ripe, it will evolve into red, yellow or orange, which means that the bell pepper is fully ripened.

Interesting video, but I would be interested to know the purpose for so much pruning. I've wondered if and how I should prune my pepper plants.

There is no need for much pruning of the bell pepper plant, unless you detect signs of disease or pests on the leaves, in which case the infected leaves should be removed to prevent spread.

If the pepper seed is already growing a pepper inside ghe pepper can you still plant it or at least take care of the pepper so it can grow as much as it can?

Fascinating find! Unfortunately, peppers growing inside peppers (internal proliferation) are sterile and won't grow further. Focus on the healthy seeds from the outer pepper for your planting adventure!
      Good luck 💚

Wouldn’t the plant be prone to soil diseases if you expose the cuts in the lower leaves to the soil?

    • @DinasGarden

While cutting the lower leaves may seem risky, it actually helps promote healthy growth by preventing disease-prone areas. Plus, with proper soil hygiene and care, the risk of soil diseases is minimized.

They need at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal growth. Thanks for watching! 🌱☀️

What did you plant them in?

We used a well-draining potting mix, which included equal parts potting soil, vermiculite, and coconut coir for optimal growth conditions.

My growing season is only 90 days.

Bell peppers can ripen in 90 days or even less, if they get enough hours of sunshine, proper watering and the temperature is high enough
