It's so nice to see the perspective of another pandemic graduate in the sustainability field! I graduated in 2022 with a bachelor's in business and sustainability into a job market that was really only looking to fill senior roles. Without the experience or connections from internships, I've been looking for other ways to bridge skill gaps and build a portfolio. Your videos have been a great source of direction in the nebulous world of sustainability 😊
I graduate in May and just got my first job in the field! Thank you for your videos. I watched some which really inspired me to start applying, and I got a job offer within weeks!
Of course!! The market is definitely still recovering from the pandemic such but it’s great to see that companies have to care about sustainability stuff now. Good luck with your search!!
Great walkthrough on the progression and roles in the field. If this would ever happen, I am curious when and where companies would give more focus on impact itself given the starting reporting to strategy. Perhaps not a push from the companies themselves but from the investors?
Great question! It HAS to be a push from all the stakeholders to want to do more than just reporting. The good news though is that once a company starts reporting and seeing their numbers, that's when stakeholders/shareholders will want to see action. So I'm really hoping that in the next 3-5 years, we can see more impact
Hi.. Thank you for sharing this info. This was very helpful. Just wanted to request if you could make a video on sustainablity space in different sectors: electronics, fmcg, heavy industry, etc
Hi there, thanks for stopping by. I’ve definitely had that idea in mind but know that I’m not an expert in fields outside of what I currently do so I’m not sure how helpful it would be. I would recommend for you to look into trade groups for the industries you’re interested in and seeing if they have free resources or webinars for you to attend.
Hi! Thank you for the video! I am curious about the data analyst positions, how do you think we can find them? Specifically for the title of the positions, because in most of the cases I only find data analyst associate with finances
Tyanna I am switching to sustainability from IT. Please help. I am not junior by experience but Junior in sustainability... Not sure how to handle this career change
I’d recommend for you to look at sustainability consulting firms and watch their free webinars! They’re always sharing free ones to market their expertise and trends in the space. Could give you a high level idea on the type of work that’s out there to see if it interests you
Thank you Tyanna for sharing the experience and knowledge from the professional perspective, but shifting to the ESG sector, is it helpful financially and future-proof as a career stability?
Hi admire your love and passion on sustainability. I am working as industrial environment analyst and compliance manager for last 10 years. But I want to move on sustainability manager but in reporting I got stuck up in calculations models for emissions and I think I should have any certification or degree kindly guide . Kindly make video for reporting calculations , degree to obtain for upgrading on sustainability thanks
Will the incoming presidential administration have an affect on the job market for those in sustainability, seeing that his policies do not align with sustainability at all?
Is there a place for data engineers/scientists? I’m beginning my masters in engineering for sustainability development but I love and have skills in data science but I would still love to work in the sustainability space.
Data is a really big thing in the industry so think it can translate. Besides sustainable development, perhaps you can also look into the packaging/products (e.g., packaging design, product development, etc.)
Hello Tyanna I am currently working on a bachelors of science in nutrition but am coming to the conclusion that it may be the wrong path for me. Sustainability has recently sparked my interest and i am now considering changing my degree to a bachelors of science in sustainability with a concentration in environmental science. What jobs would I most likely qualify for after graduation with this degree? How do you feel personally about the growth outlook of the sustainability/green jobs career field?
Hi there, thanks for sharing! Just my 2 cents but upon graduating, you’ll mostly be qualified for the researcher/scientist/analyst roles bucket. Moving forward, the field is growing because the next gen cares more about it/more laws are coming out, but it can be competitive since sustainability teams at companies aren’t huge. Hope this helps
I really admire your passion for art and also working. It's a hard balance in trying to make. Cause relying on being a artist alone can be hard. Would you please talk about it sometime,? I'm from Banglore, India. I graduated as a biotechnology engineer in 2022, and was interning at the Indian Institute of Science as a sustainability water project . I was always interested in this field and looked for jobs but since I didn't major in sustainability I didn't get through many jobs. And now I work as a screenwriter, sooner or later I want to study masters here or abroad but is it worth it to get back to sustainability field is my biggest question
Hi there, thanks for sharing. I can’t really be of much help to answer if it’s worth going back to school for because everyone is different. What I can say is that I’m lucky to be able to wake up everyday and go to work to make a difference in an area I truly care about. I hope you’re able to figure out your next steps!

Hello! Loving your efforts, thanks a ton. Just asking for one more favor 😢 can you please suggest good free certificate courses for beginners
Great idea, I'll keep this in mind!

Common more specific titles could be ESG/Sustainability/Environmental/CSR/Carbon/Energy data analysts. Good luck!

Good question and I’d say it depends on where you’re working from. Some countries have upcoming regulatory mandates for ESG while others don’t
