(i) 5.5 inches
(ii) 54.25 inches
Case - 1st
The length of the 7th jump will be - a7= 10+(6)(-3/4)
5.5 inches
Case - 2nd
=n/2(a+l)
where l is the last term which 7th term = 5.5 inches S7=7/2 (10)+(5.5)=54.25 inches
So, the total distance covered will be 54.25 inches.
