- Loaded (see pg. 8 of manual for what it takes), it drives 70 - 2" to 31/4" nails with 70-120psi of pressure. 90 psi is usually the best. Used properly, you can board up your house from a zombie attack in less then 2 hours. It means framing in a basement, nailing up plywood, adding a wall, building a fence, deck, doghouse, shed, float etc. all became a whole lot easier. Great video. Hadn’t used one in like 15 years and this was a good watch to refresh my memory. I’ve got the same set up. Perfect for a DIYer.
Thanks man. It was fun to shoot these things ...
Just got one of these. Very useful for a newbee like me. Thanks
+rjtaler This is still my go to tool for wood. Thanks for saying something. I love this machine.
Thanks man. I was surprised myself. I think trolly folks. Need people who found this useful to hit that thumbs up button, the ones who "know it all", mind there own instead of the rest of us.
I was searching for tips about if an older gun starts having issues jambing, but yeah, your video doesn't deserve a thumbs down. You intended this as a guide for homeowners renting the tool from you. Unless I missed you mentioning it, it's good to add a drop or two of oil into the air hose coupling on the end of the nailer before use each day. Might even do it again midday if you're shooting a lot of nails. Even though it says 'oil -->' right there on the tool, maybe people who rent it wouldn't understand, just a drop, two at most. Just needs a bit of oil to keep the rubber o-ring inside the driver well lubricated.
I've used these NR83A model to frame with professionally for years, but they work so well for so long that I haven't had to look into the most proper way to repair one until now. lol I think perhaps the magazine assembly on both of them we have is just plain worn out, so the slider part that pushes the nails to the driver along the rail utilizing a coiled spring to provide the force doesn't slide very well on sections of the rail anymore. Maybe it's not worth the effort to repair the magazine assembly if the slide rail is worn unevenly. Maybe we'll just buy new magazine assemblies for the guns.
What's the name of the part where the hose enters the gun? I bought a hitachi gun and it's missing the piece where the hose enters
Im pretty sure they are 1/4 inch Quick Connect Air Coupler - you need it to end in a male end. Im a big believer in swivels at this location. Cant speak to the quality but this is what I mean. Anyone else have thoughts?
