Am I the only one annoyed and slightly nervous that Disney now owns Hamilton? I love that it is becoming more accessible to people, but I really don't want this show tossed and milked out to the last drop just for money. This show was something special, especially to poc, and I'd hate to see it become overpriced toys, characters at a Disney park, or a weird animated short. My biggest fear is if Disney has the stage rights for Hamilton, that they'll just hire famous actors and ruin what this whole show is about, and who it supported. Idk man, something about this deal just doesn't sit right with me, and I'm afraid of Disney tampering with a beautiful piece of work, and them throwing away the cultural importance this musical had for monetary gain. :/
I’m so happy this production will be put on Disney+ I have always wanted to go watch Hamilton live, but I simply can’t afford it since I live all the way in California and I don’t make much as a teacher. I 've been so fortunate to have seen In The Heights in NYC in it s last month on Broadway and the last week before shut down I got to see Hamilton in Toronto. Be ready to sit back and watch words and music, in such a creative way take your imagination on a journey. Then when you 're watch it over and over, you will see different layers of the wording, it s so rich and full of wonder experience. Lin Manual Miranda, much respect sir.

So the only songs from Hamilton I have listened to are Helpless, Satisfied, You'll Be Back, the Aaron Burr, Sir song (stopping just after the person says "I'm Hercules Mulligan!"), and It's Quiet Uptown. However, I am a huuuuge History nerd, as well as a musical nerd, so I'm glad they will take some swearing out so I may be able to finally see it and listen to all the songs. I'm not trying to criticize Lin at all. I do believe he is a musical genius and he created an amazing show that has reached so many people; I just haven't really gotten to be one of those people so I am glad they are changing some words so that I can be.

Can we just talk about Lin’s adorable kids. The two year-old made a puzzle. Sure, he probably got some help, but it’s really impressive for his age. And his brother’s drawing was so cute. Also, they raised an pointed when they saw the Hamilfilm trailer!? Awwww! They’re so cute!

Am I the only one annoyed and slightly nervous that Disney now owns Hamilton? I love that it is becoming more accessible to people, but I really don't want this show tossed and milked out to the last drop just for money. This show was something special, especially to poc, and I'd hate to see it become overpriced toys, characters at a Disney park, or a weird animated short. My biggest fear is if Disney has the stage rights for Hamilton, that they'll just hire famous actors and ruin what this whole show is about, and who it supported. Idk man, something about this deal just doesn't sit right with me, and I'm afraid of Disney tampering with a beautiful piece of work, and them throwing away the cultural importance this musical had for monetary gain. :/

I’m so happy this production will be put on Disney+ I have always wanted to go watch Hamilton live, but I simply can’t afford it since I live all the way in California and I don’t make much as a teacher. It’s wonderful how they’re giving everyone the opportunity to watch it without having to travel or spend a lot of money.

I also feel like that any other way wouldn't have worked at all. Because you can't fit Hamilton into the 'normal' length of a movie. Honestly, a highly produced OBC cast movie, that is like having the best seat in the room where I never could be, is probably the best thing that ever happened.

I 've been so fortunate to have seen In The Heights in NYC in it s last month on Broadway and the last week before shut down I got to see Hamilton in Toronto. Be ready to sit back and watch words and music, in such a creative way take your imagination on a journey. Then when you 're watch it over and over, you will see different layers of the wording, it s so rich and full of wonder experience. Lin Manual Miranda, much respect sir.

You can only see it if you have the subscription to Disney Plus. There might be some people who rip the movie off and put it on RUclips though (not that you should hunt for them).

@@dumbygummy4602 I'm actually glad the swear words are being cut out..... I don't like listening to swear words excessively, as I am a firm believer that what I hear will eventually come out, and I don't use swear words nor do I want to. Even if I did want to, I'm not allowed to either.
My friends are very good about finding songs in musicals that I can listen to, and then just explaining the rest of it since I cannot listen to the rest. So the only songs from Hamilton I have listened to are Helpless, Satisfied, You'll Be Back, the Aaron Burr, Sir song (stopping just after the person says "I'm Hercules Mulligan!"), and It's Quiet Uptown. However, I am a huuuuge History nerd, as well as a musical nerd, so I'm glad they will take some swearing out so I may be able to finally see it and listen to all the songs.
I'm not trying to criticize Lin at all. I do believe he is a musical genius and he created an amazing show that has reached so many people; I just haven't really gotten to be one of those people so I am glad they are changing some words so that I can be.
