The amount of sound systems that run this riddim in the 80s is unreal. So many tapes with DJs and singers riding the riddim. Classic Heptones on Top at Studio One.
I can remember when the we as young rasta's, fell in love with the punk rockers sene, and embraced their vibes, their culture, the music, The Stranglers, Blondie, Generation X, The Selecter, The Skids, Motors, The Rich Kids, New Model Army and so many more

Two years ago I left my life and abandoned all possessions. Traveling the western US mountain states I had become in love with geography. Continuing my infatuation with the earth, I succumbed to the carribean. Four years of romance, parrots, palms and reptiles soothed my mind. It was there.. the end of all I learned to love.. most importantly live. Bless all creatures... Love Joshua
Wish I could drop all my possessions and travel to west indies and just relax. I've left it too late, but in my dreams the music soothes me, and I go to my sweet place , in the sun, on the beach, hearing the waves crashing on the sand. Boy do I dream with a spliff and some good old tunes , lovers rock. Aww

One of the top tunes ever to come out of Jamaica! Small clarification: Party Time was originally released in 1968. This is the remix from the 80's, consistent with the label in the video. Some syndrums added. Not that it matters to me, and the original press of course had no version.
What? No syndrums on this here one: this is the original! You are talking about the version recorded with the Irie It's (the one that was in the movie with Roland Gift). Chat bout?!?!
@@berkslaw No, it's not the original mix. There is some extra instrumentation, but it's not as obvious as in some other remixes Coxsone released. Also slowed down, or maybe that's just this video. Heptones made two recuts in the 70s, for Phil Pratt, and famously for Lee Perry. Of course this is the original, as in the first cut, but it is NOT the original MIX. Listen for the "hand claps". Can never get tired of these golden oldies.
The Heptones on top have what it takes to stay alive for ever. Not many artists jave reached that dimensions. Big up.
We must always remember Keyboardist the late Jackie Mittoo, he is the one who arrange all these music at Studio one.
Audley Mclean Yes you dun kno
He was not the only one Leroy Sibbles also did the arrangements, played the instruments and auditioned new talent.
So true ,Jackie Mittoo , was so young and arranged so many beats at Studio one . Gone too soon though .
So true, Jackie Mittoo, was so young back then, but he arranged most of the studio one beats bac in the days, Rest in peace sir .
Mr Mclean please mention the man's status, the worlds top10 ranked keyboardist during his time. In other words the great jackie Mittoo.
