Nice. Hush Hush! Awesome. I'll give you warning that every time you ride that trail you will find more pace. It's awesome but so scary in the super fast bits. You rode Broon Troot really well. That trail annoys me. The more you attack it the slower you go. Such a techy little number. I was super impressed with your tree avoidance! Great vid and great riding again mate. You've just inspired me to get a cuppa and get working on a Glentress edit from a few weeks ago. Great stuff 👍
Cheers! I discovered it's easy to get carried away on that first section and then realise you really can't scrub off the speed haha. Just wish it was a little brighter in the trees so the footage came out better. Broon Troot felt like a struggle but loved Ponduro 👍
@@KnightOwl29 Not sure if it's the one you mean but there was a right hander near the end that I tried about 3 times to get onto the high line for and just couldn't manage it over the wet roots, that part didn't make it to the edit 😂 Really appreciate the feedback 👍 And all good after that crash, those leaves made for a soft landing!
Good work! I fell off in exactly the same place on Dave's Trail, so I'm clearly in good company 😉 I also fell off on Hush Hush, landed on my head, and lost an inch off my height. True story! 😂
Sorry to bomb you with another question, but any tips on riding the steep chute in the middle part of Daves Trail? Or in steep chutes in general? I usually take the left side chicken run in Daves Trail but today I decided to try the chute, but I got spooked right after rolling in and fell over the bars trying to stop when it was too late.
Same number one rule that applies to most features is commitment, if you try and back out when it's too late it can only go wrong haha, happened to me enough to know that 😂 I doubt you did anything wrong as that chute doesn't require anything too specific, I'd say working on building up confidence is a good solution to trust yourself in what you're doing. Either finding similar smaller features that you can build up skills slowly, or repeating something over and over until you know you can do it is how I progressed. Hopefully that helps a little, if you've got any more questions I don't mind answering 👍
@@DistrictMountainBiker Yeah I probably just have to hit it a bit faster to avoid all the hesitation! Thanks man. What trails here in the tweed valley would you say are the next step up from Daves Trail?
@@br1200 What have you tried out so far? Innerleithen is a great spot with fun flowy trails like Angry Sheep and Green Wing ranging to pretty steep and tricky trails like Second Date. Cresta run is a pretty fun one with good variety but to be honest there's so much there you're spoilt for choice. I often just look on Trailforks and see what I fancy checking out. I also recently rode New York New York at the Golfie which was really good fun and nothing too bad compared to the rest of the hill!
@@DistrictMountainBiker I've tried Angry Sheep & Green Wing, those were amazing! I can't really do any big drops atm so am a bit scared to do the orange runs at inners. I will definitely try NY NY then!
Cool to see you ride my backyard trails! (The Janet's Brae area) Do you use a filter on your footage or is this manual color grading? Any tips on how to achieve similar colors? I use Adobe Premiere.
What a place to have so close to home! I shoot with flat colour and native white balance on the GoPro then use the Filmconvert plugin for Premiere for the colour grading, plus a bit of manual correction in lumetri if needed. Really tricky to make it look good in the dark of the woods but works well with prime conditions 👍
Love the trail dog!

Cheers! I blame the leaves and not the fact I grabbed a handful of front brake mid turn 😂 That story is something special 😂😂

Yet to go to glentress but am considering it now, looks nice and flow'y! Winter riding is by far the best time if u ain't sliding u ain't riding
Definitely worth a visit, there's plenty of good top to bottom routes, and there's a couple of new off-piste trails been added recently 👍
If a can stop masel driving past it on the way to grey mares tail i will give it a shot one day👍
Hi mate how did you locate the off piste trails at glentress
I'd ridden them a few times at this point but they're pretty well known and on Trailforks 👍
Technical question. Do you wear a full face with mic tucked inside out of the wind? Or something else?
I do wear a full face but the audio is just from the GoPro, I've got a wind cover over it to try and cut back on a bit of the wind noise
District Mountain Biker brilliant thanks. Riding glentress tomorrow, with my collie obvs
