how do you handle deductions and/or debit memos? ex. when posting a check received from a collection agency, where collection fees or commissions and sales tax are deducted from the total check amount, meaning we need to apply the total amount of the check to the sub-ledger, but debit collection fees and sales tax..etc.
i built cash app for oracle jd edwards and other erps; it generates bai2 or calls api to apply if available; was considering extending this to microsoft dynamics.

You would need to create a Credit Memo in Receivables to be applied to the customer balance, the CM can be posted to the appropriate accounts.
