I can relate to Tamatoa. Alot of kids in my school kept bothering & stealing from me for no reason and always tryna put the blame on me when I was the victim in the situation. So I don't blame Tamatoa for being who he is after Maui ripped his leg clean off.
I also identify with tamatoa but because many people have hurt me and I feel more like a villain. He ate his own grandmother and I don't love my own family. + I love sparkly thinks and jewelry sooo- ye
tamatoa can be more delicate than maiu, when interacting with moana, he has the power to crush her little body with his togs, but dont do so, while maui its a brute with her kkkkkkkkk tamatoa always was my favorite character in moana, now i just like him more

i always seen Maui as a bad guy since the realm of monsters was created after HE stole the heart of TeFeTi (sorry if spelled wrong) and moana almost got KILLED by tamatoa
Just got through your Maleficent video for the 3rd time. Here's my reasoning, based on a similar argument, for why Tomatoa isn't a villain. First, yes, he lives in the realm of the monsters, but that's an address, not a villain-label. Who among us hasn't been to the "bad" side of town, or lived in a less-than-ideal environment at some point? Second, is he perhaps a bit egotistical? Yes, but in his defense, Maui can say the same, but turns out to be fair from a villain, himself. Third, as Maui is portrayed as a villainous character in the opening of the film, we can see that Tomatoa is portrayed very similarly by Maui himself. Finally, Tomatoa has a not-so-good history with Maui, which culminates when the latter commits attempted murder against the former. It is revealed less than 10 minutes prior that Maui has also committed a violent and heinous crime against Tomatoa... Forcibly amputating one of the crab's legs.

Tamatoa certainly doesn't act much like a villain. I mean I know he tried to eat Moana and Maui and yes some of his facial expressions he makes are a little scary, but he's certainly more flashy then Nigel from Rio was, and he is known as a pretty bird when he's not even close to it. If you ask me I think Tamatoa odda get a little more respect here. Maybe he's acting the way he is because he's lonely, and there far he is depressed. And then when Maui ripped off his leg in the past it made him even more depressed to point where he was like "Ok look if I'm going to be happy then I'm just gonna have to make myself look beautiful!" After all in his song he did say he was a drab little crab once and that now he can be happy because he's beautiful baby. And last I checked most Disney villains are not meant to be looking that colorful, that is for the good guys here, there for he's not even close to being a villain. I mean even when he's in the dark Tamatoa is stilll just as beautiful! I mean how many Disney villains do you know that are out there that can look that good? My point exactly. ❤🦀🏆😊
In my personal opinion I think he's just neutral infact I think almost everyone in the movie is neutral except for moana moana's mother moana's grandmother tifiti and pua
