Not exactly what you might have been expecting if you are familiar with the source material, but never the less, I decided to experiment with this cover. I took some artistic liberties just for fun, slowed it down, gave it a more acoustic center vibe with the guitars but still an early 80s new wave sound with the massive OB-X8 in SPLIT mode for bass and synth comp.
I dig it! Love MWH !! Sick new synth. Congrats. You need to eat getting too thin. Thanks for making smile on a Friday night after a 60 hour work week. The Bass is deep and the sync is slinky. Take care and thank you..
For stuff like this, I just record a partial cover up to the track(s) I want to play live and then record the video of me playing those parts. For this I assembled the backing track with Addictive Drums 2, my Nord Electro 6D and the OB-X8.
Your audio sounds so nice! As much as I turn up the volumes and gains and whatnot on my hardware, I am still cursed with quiet recordings that I have to crank in post. Is this just a fact of life or am I just rarted?
Hmm I'm not sure! I don't use any sort of special interface beyond a simple effects pedal lined in directly to my computer. I always have my PC volume capped at 60% instead of 100% because I use these massive old Kenwood speakers from the early 90s and if I had my PC audio turned all the way up and played a bass note I'd break my goddamn house down.
@@AdamBorseti As I record, everything I’m hearing comes through loud and clear, but when I playback what I recorded, it’s at a considerably lower volume. I guess I just have to stop being complacent with cranking it in post and actually fix the problem. I would say it’s a software issue. I need my daw to be at equilibrium with my mixer and I don’t think it is quite there. Seems like there’s maybe a 4dB discrepancy.
sorry but... the ob-x8 is not black with lines. The ones with lines are the obx-A and the ob-8. The new ob-x8 has the same gray colors as the first Oberheim obx. Something isn't quite right here.
Yeah, the OB-X8 is usually grey like the original OB-X, but I bought a blue pin stripes overlay for mine to make it look like the OB-Xa or OB-8. You can buy one on SynthOverlays.com

Artistic liberties are wonderful. love the re-interpretation, I haven't heard this song in ages, nice pick
Lying down on my couch in Montreal Canada watching you playing this song and…. Wooooow. A new way to listen to it. You mastered it. Thanks Adam !!!
So we sang about the birds and the bees. This is such an awesome song.
The first man to demo this great instrument in a musical way! Great Adam.
Great stuff! I would love to see you cover a Kraftwerk song! Again, great work!
Goose bumps!

Fantastic!
Nice job!
Second time round. Still good.
If nobody listens, well, nothing comes true.
Hi Adam, what are you using for your backing tracks? Do you have them synced to the OB-X8?

@@AdamBorseti Thanks! Gotta love that OB-X8. It’s one of my favorite synths! Keep up the great work!👍🎹

Another great tune! Thanks
