This was a lifesaver!!!! Thank you!! I was struggling so much with my amigurumi project, and this video came to the rescue! Super easy to follow and totally saved my life!!
This method is nice to know for projects showing only one side. Unfortunately, it does't work on any project where both sides are equally important like a scarf or blanket.
Thank you so much for this video! I am making a cardi and the pattern creator basically said if you have yarn even barley showing you are doing it wrong and I was getting soooo discouraged! I never carry the yarn and decided to do it this time. ❤❤❤❤
Thanks, this was very helpful, I’ll make sure that I place the carried yarn at the top. When you turn your work, how do you keep the carried yarn from showing at the beginning of the row?
Ik this is an old vommen bur if you dont knkw i think the best way Iver found is by putting the yarn om the hook instead of the v but do it together with the v:)
I'm curious if there's a limit to how far you should carry the yarn? I have an afghan that in the second row you have one color for 80st, second color for 3 sc, first color 80sc, then go back to the second color 3sc, then first color 80sc. Should you carry the second color for 80sc just to get to the second 3sc?
@@HappilyHookedMagazine Thank you. Kind of what I was thinking. I don't like weaving in ends but I don't like wasting precious yarn either! :) Thanks again.
its just like working in your ends. I do that when i do a border. But does it make it bulkier? do you size up your hook as if crocheting with two strands together?
Does the yarn hide well with front and back post stitches? I feel like the carried yarn would show up through the BP stitches, but maybe not as bad with FP stitches.
I personally wouldn't with slip stitches since there is such little room between the working yarn and the previous row BUT you totally can. I might with similar colors, but black and hot pink for example would probably show through pretty bad.
I don't know if this bothered anyone else, but the music really pulls my attention away from your voice. I mean I have trouble trying to learn what I'm learning from you, with that music in the background. I've watched other of your videos that I do enjoy it though.
Hi A.R. - I am passing your message along to Sam, but I honestly didn't even notice that there was music until you mentioned it! You can also turn on the Captioning feature on RUclips- just click the little CC box at the bottom. That might help you focus more on the words first, then you can replay the video without the CC and focus more on her hands! Hope that helps!
I know this is an older video but I just wanted to pop on and say THANK YOU! I have struggled so much with this and you made it SO easy!!

if you pull the threads thats youre carrying, you can adjust it so they dont show in the back. wont look flawless but you can still manage a pattern

Older video but how do you end the row and carry the color to the next row?

You could carry the yarn as far as you want, just depends on how much yarn you want to waste and how much you don't want to weave in ends 🤣

I don’t get it… what is it with putting music on an instructional video. I just can’t watch this…
I’m sure this is a fine video but the music is way too distracting.
The idea is great in theory but it’s a waste of yarn (my opinion). Because you’re carrying yarn that’s not actually being used.
The music is annoying. I couldn't watch.
