311 is very underrated compared to the garbage out now. This was recorded in the early 90s and NO ONE sounded like this. 311 is Amazing! Definitely kicks Green Days ass!!
For anyone who doesn't know, one of the special / awesome things about this song is that it has two basses playing at the same time (Nick plays the other one). Also, the guitar player on this track is not Tim Mahoney, but their original guitarist Jim Watson.
I knew there was something about the bass that stuck out!!! Thank you for sharing the information. 311 is my absolute favorite. No one makes me as happy as you do 311, especially when I'm so down. I LOVE YOU GUYS! 💚🎸🎶 Uplifted. Please, don't ever stop.
i dont know about you all but this album is sick p- nut bass and chad sexton tearing the drums up i had 2 copies but buddy detroyed them in drunkin rampage bought my last one for 60 bux "this is music" get the album if you can
Ryan Smith yes you can buy a copy of Omaha sessions on either Amazon or eBay used. Thats where I got mine. I spent like 30 dollars but it was well worth it. They only made a handful of cds when it was released and they haven't re-released it yet
The bass reminds me of a weak Les Claypool, blew me away considering it's 311. Why doesn't P-Nut do shit like this on the regular? Can't stand the metal era, makes me cringe.
cbt1 I haven't seen their live performances but are you fucking serious? Their songs do NOT sound the same. I've seen 311 fall farther down the hole of song similarity than RHCP, but then again maybe that's just me. I love 311 but RHCP is better in almost every way.
@ofwmoose28 doesnt make a person stupid to not like something...311 has great stuff and utter garbage too.lots of bands do...they played this when i saw them in memphis for 311 day...not a shitty tune but not that good either.
+andrew vincent It's waaayyyyy better than the metal era. The metal era was just embarrassing, I'll be the first too admit that. I actually prefer the jammier and newer 311. Much more mature & satisfying.

Uhhhhh check again, they took this sound from plenty of bands that had already come out in the early 90s
All the good times, all the bad times, face it, Bro. They all will pass.

also before they got the useless guy with the terrible voice jumping around the stage with a mic like an idiot
@@Dradfish VERY hot take

Dradfish I like some of the stuff SA brings in terms of sound but a lot of his lyrics are wack... 🌽

A true 311 connoisseur! Much love and big ups to you. Very few will appreciate what you've managed to put together here 👏
That bass part tho! SO good!
It's actually two basses. Nick plays bass too on this. They are harmonizing the slap part. Its awesome

Happy 311 Day 2019!
I agree that are my favorite.
311 plays in Chile in April, someone knows if they come to the Argentina?
I always thought old 311 was like a blend of Sublime and RHCP
Sublime sounds like 311.
Sublime = good but 311 came before
both formed in 1988 actually
Pretty fair comparison.
Sublime < 311
back in the day
Outstanding
wonderful
Sometimes you just need to come here to hear this song
Here in 2024.
Now put that in your pipe and smoke it! 311 day baybay!
@Three11Incubus nick plays bass on this song live

Go P-NUT!!! Go P-NUT!!!
@Nixhex78 I agree if the word unprecendeted means fucking rad
Norwegian wood up front
@trs311hex do you know that for a fact?
89 damm
The beginning guitar riff is very similar to Norwegian Wood by the Beatles. If not the exact same thing. Which is fucking awesome.
So, i've heard this is extremely rare. Anyone know where i can find it?
Ryan Smith yes you can buy a copy of Omaha sessions on either Amazon or eBay used. Thats where I got mine. I spent like 30 dollars but it was well worth it. They only made a handful of cds when it was released and they haven't re-released it yet
I used to have this album while it was still in print. Pretty good stuff from the early days.
@rvcanes, it doesn't sound like nick because this is before he had that surgery on his vocal chords.
You obviously haven't heard of their first three albums.
Big StP and Rhcp fan 311 is way better than both
you dont think so?
Its spelt q u I t!
I heard this song when I was 12. My last 311 album I cared for, deeply, was Transistor. What happened to these guys?
Robert Frost they’re still here
what?

Pnut always kills bass> Go back and listen to their 1st 7 albums
Every song by the RHCP sounds the same and they are TERRIBLE live...

Laughable to your reflection.
