Good job on the BMC-220. I just bought a BMC-110 online with it's original box. Do you happen to have a spare carrying case? Doesn't seem like my BMC-110 includes a case just the box. I've got an SL-2000 as my playback deck and it should work fine for Betamovie recordings. I've had a few Betamovies over the years. I first bought a BMC-220 but I didn't have the AC-M110 or a playback deck so it just sat around. A few months later I bought a BMC-110 from eBay. This one worked, but always had the "LOW LIGHT" indicator on the viewfinder, even outdoors. You know what that means, right? Dead tube. So that one was only good for parts and I sold it off for parts. I bought another 110, and this one actually worked without any repair, but I ended up selling it again. Around this time I powered up the BMC-220 I had bought a while back. It would refuse to eject. One of the belts had slipped off, so I put it back on and fixed the mechanism. However there appeared to be some kind of mold between the lens and the front of the pickup tube. Like another person said there is a fuse on the board that has the DC input connector, along with the 3.5mm jacks for the mic, remote, and headphones. I blew this fuse on another BMC-110 and it had to be replaced. I forget the rating of the fuse. Because of the amount of components they jammed into the camcorder accessing the board is sort of a pain, but can be done if you are patient. I took the entire board out and had my friend desolder the fuse and replace it.
on the bmc-110 more than likely the fuse which is located behind the power input plug circuit board is blown or the wire soldered to the corroded battery connector corroded and disconnected itself, in my experience these camcorders are very easy to repair. also adjust the tracking knob on your vcr, old systems dont have automatic tracking.
Does the caution light remain on during recording? Sorry i am fixing our recently acquired beta movie 100 and 200 and I got the 100 working right I think. But I don't have a player functioning yet to test the footage.
@vintagevideobasement hey man awesome job on the video. So I just picked up a mint 110 at a garage sale all in the original packaging… batteries will charge up but when put into the camera with a tape the battery light is blinking and the camera turns off. However with a direct plug in the camera will power on, zoom but when I hit record it’s doing just like yours did where it turns off and the battery light is blinking. Where can I find that band that you replaced ?
Search Amazon for cassette player belts and you will find packs with an assortment of sizes. Should be able to find one in there that will fit. You will have to replace the cells in the batteries to get those to hold a charge.
@@piecharts5036 very cool if you could do a video showing how to replace it. i have 3 bmc100, only one works, the other ones load the cassette but don't roll it when pressing record
@CousinHubertRetrogaming I apologize I just removed the board on the other side. There are 3 belts in total. I'll try to see if I can figure how to post a RUclips video and show you what i did
Hey dude !! I was wondering if you could help me fix my camera ! I just bought a BMC-220 and have no idea why it’s not working I’m not a big tool guy so I’m kinda scared to go at it ! I can ship it out to you and pay for your troubles just really want to get this going !

These are great little cameras. It’s a shame so many of the pickup tubes didn’t hold up.
Good camera
Buena reparación

Thanks for the info! I’ll check those out.

@@vintagevideobasement Do you remember how many belts are inside the camera ? (not counting the one for the zoom mechanism)
@@CousinHubertRetrogaming1 that I've noticed. I'm working on fixing a 200 and 100 at the moment
