I remember this welterweight title bout between who I believed should have been crowned champion, by knock out, ( Armando) and this guy who got the crap beat out of him ( legally ! ) Not by head buts in the 3rd round ! I was just a youngster then, and see ing that fight enfuriated me. What a horrible injustice to Armando Muniz. To me, Armando will always be the welterweight champion of the world, that night. Armando was an honest, clean and brave boxer. Armando was, and still is, a classy respectful gentleman, he was my hero, and I looked up to him, growing up as a youngster. He made me proud to be a Chicano. He still is today, one of my favorite athletes, him & Joe Montana. Armando Muniz will always be my champion, God bless you, my brother.

Fuck yes. My favorite fight of all times Armando Muniz. I follow him around Hawaiian Gardens teen post 108 in 1966.
I seen no Serious Head butts both fighters heads Clashed but both of their heads were clashing. The Ref was looking to protect and give Napoles the Hometown Favorite in Mexico the fight any way he Could. Wow!

It is terrible that someone took down the return match. A well prepared Mantequilla dominated the second fight knocking Muniz down and giving him a beating.

Yo me tocó ver esa pelea en el palacio de los deportes algo inolvidable en mi vida ya que Nápoles era mi héroe y yo andaba de pasada por el DF allí presentaron a la crema y nata del boxeo mexicano empezando con el Ratón Macías allí conocí a Pipino Cuevas peleando en Ligero otro gran Campeón Welter en el Futuro un placer haber visto estas grandes peleas un saludo a los fans de Boxsaludos desde Colorado
Worst referee in the history of boxing ,as a referee you supposed to be impartial ,not take any sides ,berumen just wanted napoles to win no matter what, shame.
