Seth MacFarlane dipped from the writer's room super early in the show's run, and the writers and showrunners that took over gave the series its own unique feel. For example, while FG is themed around big band jazz and showtunes, AD likes to use hip hop and R&B. The writers of AD also have an unspoken policy in place where any character that can be considered an extra or background character will have their own fun and unique personality. B11 notes in this video that he's in love with B7, and a future episode actually has a plot of him trying to kill him and the rest of B12 after being rejected. Also, four of the six (seven if you count Jeff) primary characters are voiced by professional singers (Seth MacFarlane voices Stan and Roger Smith, Rachael MacFarlane voices Hayley Smith, and Scott Grives voices Steve Smith, the one carrying B12 in this video), and the writers *LOVE* to take advantage of this fact.

I love how it's become a rule that every boy band parody needs two boys with the same first name distinguished by a last initial, even though that started with the Spice Girls and none of the famous 90's boy bands had it. It feels like a natural addition.
"More boys than I think you've ever seen before" is the sleeper line of the song for a few reasons. It's like a "we're the biggest/best" type of bravado, but humble enough to be like, "maybe you've seen something I haven't yet heard of, but my guess is that we have the most boys you've ever seen together." Not even a laugh-out-loud line, just the smallest possible joke.
Can we talk about how there was fat, girl, gay dad, depressed, and a myriad of other super fucked up descriptors that are wayy more serious than how they put it? (Outside of “gay dad” vs “my parents are divorced”)
This show had no reason to habe such amazing songs, but I guess they realized Steve's voice actor was an amazing singer at some point and decided each season needed at least one very musical episode.
It feels rare I see works of fiction give representation to that genre of music videos that look like the director couldn’t settle on one main concept.
Nobody ever mentions it because it's animated... but one of these animators is a really good choreographer. It's noticeable in this episode, and also that Krampus Christmas episode. The dance moves are friggin' ON POINT!

If you notice Steve's lines throughout the song they're a lot more innocent than the more innuendo laced sections, like "b12 makes you feel all bright and alert" followed by "now lay down on my bed and take off your shirt". I'm pretty sure Steve is just too naïve to realize whats going on in the rest of the song

If you notice Steve's lines throughout the song they're a lot more innocent than the more innuendo laced sections, like "b12 makes you feel all bright and alert" followed by "now lay down on my bed and take off your shirt". I'm pretty sure Steve is just too naïve to realize whats going on in the rest of the song

By 2021, Georgie, TJ, Parker, Victor, Abraham, Boris, and Constantine had each been killed, all stabbed mercilessly in their own bed as they slept. The killer was moments from claiming his next victim, Steve Smith, when Smith’s father came to the bedroom door. Startled, the killer slipped on a skateboard, causing him to fall out of the bedroom’s second story window onto a trampoline below, catapulting him onto a flagpole, which impaled the killer. Bizarrely, the Smiths didn’t know anything had happened until the next morning when they were alerted by the screams of neighbors. The killer, now dead, was Abraham H, boy11. On the ground beneath him were a large hunting knife and an album of Boyz12’s single, the faces of each victim crossed out with a slash, including his own, believed to have been his final act, and Smith’s, showing just how close he was to meeting a tragic end.
