    Just installed my TD Engine case guard this evening and I have to say its looks like its going to do the job protecting the engine, I too noticed one bolt was longer than the other I think it was the right side was the shorter one. Thanks Chris, great video.

    Have had mine installed since released. Completely satisfied with no issues to date. As with Chris I have used my J&S lift with the engine guard installed with no issues. Looking forward to Max releasing his tip over protection solution. Stay tuned. 😎

    I installed mine a couple months ago. Its a thick aluminum plate. Definitely the best protection that is currently offered for the Honda Goldwing. Well worh it!

    Thanks Chris for an excellent video. I have a 2022 and there are a few minor differences between the 2018 and the 2022, especially how the tupperware is attached. Your video is truly up to date and thanks for that. The kit I got from Traxxion was exactly like the one you installed so that made it a piece of cake. I have had 5 Goldwings and put "belly pans" on all of them. The others were light weight and flimsy. They did the job but got beat up over time. This Traxxion plate is amazingly solid and well machined. A perfect fit. I did take someones suggestion and mounted the back mount to the plate, then mounted the front plate to the engine, then lifted up the plate and stuck the two rear engine bolts in and then the little tapered screws on the front. Really easy. 1 hour.
    And your grade of difficulty of 1 was spot on. Thanks

    I agree with you buying a belly pan and saving a couple of bucks it's a lot better then paying thousands for repairs. Looks good on there

    That was an excellent video presentation of TRAXXION Dynamics’ engine case guard installation! I saved it for future use in my own installation of the same product!!! Have an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.

    It’s attached by bolting the mounting brackets directly to the engine. You gotta hope you don’t hit something hard enough that it breaks your mount locations where it bolts into the bottom of the engine.

    Great video, clear, concise, excellent how to video, and you even explained that you have to pull the engine case guard to change the oil. Thank you. ( considering trading my old Kaw Concours for a new gold wing… 👍)

  • @oklahomahank2378
    @oklahomahank2378 2 года назад

    I installed it as well. I took it off for the next oil change and taking it off only took about ten minutes. (I only took the engine guard off and left the brackets on.). No oil leaks. I have about 5,000 miles on it so far.
    Use a good quality hex drive. The little 4mm fasteners are aluminum and a poor quality hex driver can round them.

    I have considered a case guard after reading horror stories. My concern was in raising the bike with the lift. The final shot in your video seems to show the rear lift arm being placed directly under the rear guard mounting bracket. Are you concerned at all about the pressure you are applying to the TWO bolts holding the bracket to the engine? The engine case being aluminum (alloy?).
    I'll be watching for your next oil change video to see if you notice any leaking around the engine bolts, and the clearances for removing the drain plugs.
    Thanks for a very clear video.

      If anyone has concerns about lifting the Goldwing with Traxxion Engine Guard installed, I suggest removing your engine guard then lifting the bike, as for me I trust the product until proven otherwise.

      @@chriscaliente5033 I have one and agree,it takes at most, a couple of minutes to drop the skid. Mines been on the bike for a few weeks. No oil leaks and I don’t have to remove either bracket to drop the skid.

      I agree with the Chris’. I have a J&S jack and as with Mr. Caliente mine works fine just like his. But as stated if you are doubtful, the guard takes 5 minutes to remove. The issue is not the jack it’s preventing a catastrophic breakage to your engine casing. Buy the engine guard and ride the finest touring motorcycle in the world with one less serious worry. Why risk damaging a 30000 dollar vehicle. It’s a no brainer. 🤓

  • @ostbob4108
    @ostbob4108 11 месяцев назад

    Can't tell where you have the jack/Lift touching. Is the rear one on the center stand support and the front one on the rear engine guard support? or is the front one in the middle of the engine guard plate. I want to lift my bike to detail it. I have a J&S jack and its footing is not as wide as yours.

    Chris, do you know what the difference is between the Standard Plate and the Alcon Plate? I'm guessing it is a beefier plate, but I have no idea? Why would I not pay the extra $20 for the Alcon? 2022 DCT bagger. Thank you!

    Be a good video on your opinion of the new and improved Wing Stuff Belly Pan over the new and improved Traxxion Dynamics Engine Guard. As you know both have gone through development iterations to get to this point. Both offer good protection and as you noted better than nothing at all. My question is. What your favorite considering criterion such as fit and finish, materials used and method of attachment?

    • @tompetry8589
      @tompetry8589 8 месяцев назад

      Right. Are they saying that when you hit something the bolts are not going to snap? Or the casting where the new pan is mounted not going to crack? Is the Honda warranty voided after engine bolts removed? Plus I think the countersinks are a bad idea. You are centering the plate before tightening the bars on the engine block.
