I love watching these videos. I’m in no way a runner, in fact I recently had a full right knee replacement, so doctor’s orders are no running. I’ve had a plan for my 50th birthday, which is in Oct, to do a 5k. I don’t know WHY……..I’ve never enjoyed or excelled at running….I don’t plan to do one after…..but I’m doing it! I’m going to Savannah, GA at the end of Oct and doing the Nine Line Foundation Run For the Wounded 5K. I may have to walk 99.99% of it, but I’m doing it. These videos give me so much motivation. Also…….tell me why I watch them on RUclips & not through my Patreon membership??? 😆😆😆🤷🏻♀️
Walking a 5K sounds awesome if your dr is on board with that plan. I think many people assume you have to run to participate in races, but lots of 5K’s (I’d imagine most) are not timed or paced and available to walkers and runners alike. Your excitement for this is awesome! 👏

I really liked watching last year’s challenge and I’m very excited to see you do it again! I may consider it one day! I think Florida’s temperature might be too hot for me though! I’m in Quebec, Canada and my best time for running is Spring and Fall! 😂
It’s definitely a different Friday experience running in Florida humidify if you’re not used to it but still tons of fun! I find my body runs well in humidity but my heart has to push a bit more

Why are they called 5K, 10K when that is not the measurement you use in the USA? They should be called 3.1m and 6.2m in keeping with how you measure everything else. Can someone explain?
I'm not sure - but my best guess it would have to do with race origins 🤷♀️
That's just how the usatf and regulated guidelines have always measured in the states
