  • A landfill in Temanggung Regency can accommodate up to 100 tons of waste a day. This number is projected to rise considering that with the increasing population, it also increased emission.
In this site, there is a waste-sorting group, common people call them ‘pemulung’ or scavengers. Their work is often considered petty, lowly, and repulsive. Even so, they are the ones who are instrumental in sorting the waste. They are able to sort up to 6 tons of waste every day. Without them, it is possible that the waste will not be sorted, the waste is dumped in the sea, so that it can cause radical climate change.
When developed countries already use machines to manage waste, it is the humans who sort and manage the waste in this landfill, they are human recycling machine.
