Let us not forget that MLK was so much more than anti-racism. This is where most people meet him, and this is where I first met him. And if that was the only thing he ever talked about, it would be enough for me, even as a white person, to follow him.
But he was always more than that. He was a man who loved humanity because he clearly saw that we can be so much more than what we are, and he stood against anything that prevented or hindered us from achieving our potential. Racism is but one of the obstacles in our path.
Yes, it is still as important as it ever was, but so are all of the other obstacles in our path.
And it is amazing how most or all of them arise from"The Drum Major Instinct."

Dennis Wade ...MLK was for The American Descendant of Slaves first, foremost and forever more.
While our brother spoke on behalf of others, as well, those “others” killed him and use his legacy as a scapegoat to pretend to be kind to the American Descendant of Slaves, while sitting by silently, as the same racist system physically, economically, emotionally, mentally, socially, educationally murder us.
America has given the American Descendant of Slaves a rubber check...from the denial of our Reparations right to loose civil rights legislation that benefits white women and immigrants before US. Yet it is because of the American Descendant of Slaves that these, “others” can have civil rights and the ability to come to America.
In short, “others” truly do not like MLK. It’s just a front... if it isn’t, put your money where your mouth is.

Whoever saves his life will lose his live and whoever Lose his life will saves his life. Love you and I thank you. For laying down your life for me and others like me not speaking of any particular race nor nationality, but to all mankind who been treated unjustly. To have a better future than you had even for yourself. It really takes a selfless person and there are not many who are willing to do what you done. Rest In Peace. #DrumMajorofPeace

Jacqueline PinkettSmith , it tell you about the constant flaws and frailties of humanity. Times change but most people almost, always remain the same. There is a new description for it now called 'social genetics.' How societies pass their evils 'trans-generationally,' from one generation to another.

This is one of my favorite Rev. Dr. MLK speeches. I have been inspired by his life of service as a model for unselfish behavior since I was a child. I purchased A Knock at Midnight which is a collection of many of his more popular and some obscure speeches. His words continue to be a beacon of light in a world 🌎 sometimes surrounded by darkness. Lastly, each time I have a opportunity to visit the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tn. it is powerful and insightful. One Love.

Any man that is afraid of a man because of the darkness of his skin must be afraid of his own shadow, that is black!
I am white, European and have never understood racism and never had to endure the burden of ignorance that might have divided me from my friends who had a different skin-tone than me.
I thank God and my Parents for blessing me with a healthy and full mind.

This sermon although his last, may be one of the most impactful of all. I always thought of him as a great and righteous man, Rev., Dr., advocate for social justice, but as I listen to this and really get a full understanding of who he was, I now consider him a prophetic person as well. Prophets always hate injustice and seek to make things right. They always speak truth in love and expect results. This man although now missing from this earth realm is still among us with his spirit.

Maybe the hardest, and best thing we all, all have to do is examine our own drum major instinct. Thank you, Reverend King. I think your voice is the most important one to listen to, given what's just happened in Ferguson. Yes to non-violence! Yes to civil disobedience! It is our moral responsibility to disobey an unjust law. Yes to the dignity and worth of every human being. Every being.

I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

They were brave to confront the challenges, problems, racism, discrimination, and inhumanity that opposite to them .. Now we don't have these leader that can confront challenges of today world with challenges of climate changes, poverty, conflict, and wars around the globes. Thanks so much for posting the video ..

My mother used to play his speeches ..would rush out to buy them when the vinyls came out. He is still as relevant today as he was in the late 50's and 60's. We truly lost beacons of light and brotherhood, love and unity when we lost Martin and Malcolm. Out 2 Kings.

This speech is what got him martyred. When he started speaking openly about American politics and war crimes. Dr. King was a powerful man with tremendous influence and "They" didn't want his message to spread. It's like they could deal with the civil rights stuff, but not his whistle blowing.

The last few minutes of this Sermon, there is a switch that happens in MLK's inflection that puts chills down my spine. It's like he just up and evokes the holy spirit right then and there. The way this whole sermon is structured leading up to that moment is masterful.

I grow up hearing about Dr Martin Luther king but never bordered to find out who he really was. I discovered him 3 days ago and I was so amazed at how great God raised Him. I hand to go into prayers to thank God for him. His words and activities are so divine oriented. How I wish I had come in contact with him earlier. I love every aspect about him. He was indeed a man of God . I thank God so much for him and all his messages. May God raise us up as fearless as he was.
