What a nice sound you have. Calm, soulful, moving, love the blues, that last number made me want to dance!

Lakota John & kin have made a quantum leap this summer due to hard work by all and the collaboration of mr. mark anderson in composing, arranging and performing new, original music, which all of the tribe can look forward to in their next album. Anderson’s influence cannot be overstated. Like the Locklear family he is a Robeson county native, but Mark recently returned after a decades-long career that included a scholarship to the Paris conservatory of the music and several years with NBC Entertainment, where his his first project was to arrange and produce the music for a new show: Saturday Night Live. Just as Lakota’s brilliant guitar work continues to amaze audiences, sister Layla’s inspired vocals evoke the most deeply held emotions, especially her newly arranged cover of Adele’s “Feel My Love.” You’ll hear a lot more from this tight-knit family, including a new song and by Tonya Locklear’s poem set to music (by Anderson.) “Dark Waters,” about the swampy low country that feed into the Lumbee River, which is touchstone in tribal life and legend. The beautiful ode is mysterious, haunting and loving as sung byLayla. I am their biggest fan. - Jim Pate

Video is nice, too bad the sound is not picking up all the instruments. Piano mic is missing. Sounds like they used the monitor/wedge feed instead of the house feed.
