I always assumed Seekers were a specific group of flyers under Starscream's command. Like the Wreckers.

In the TFP episode where Smokescreen jumps off the Nemesis with the Omega Keys, Megatron became upset when he had thrown a four-wheeler overboard and shouted:
    "Flyers, I need Flyers!"
He didn't say, seekers. I think this shows that he has an understanding that not every bot with wings onboard is a Seeker. At that moment a Seeker would've been better but he was so desperate that he didn't care if it was a regular flyer or a trained Seeker in pursuit of the Autobot.

Here’s an idea that I have.
Only natural aerial bots can be seekers. Only the best fliers can be seekers. High quality aerial bots are created that way, those are seekers. There is a difference between a seeker and a false seeker, but that concept was lost in time. A true seeker is Vosian, made with the sole purpose of seeking, learning about and understanding Energon, Starscream being a perfect example.
A false seeker is not necessarily Vosian, they can be but might lack too many ‘Seeker’ traits.
Eccentric personalities are not specific to Seekers, as Dreadwing and Skyquake who I believe are true seekers clearly show.
Basically though, the term ‘seeker’ has been mixed and muddled over the course of the war. Starscream does not like this and so he also firmly refers to himself as a seeker.
He calls those drones seekers because they do fit into the traits of a seeker, they just aren’t Vosian, they can’t be anyway.
Another thing, seekers can be of different wight classes, just like planes on Earth have.
    Starscream: Lightweight
    Dreadwing: Heavyweight
As for Jetfire, he is a shuttle, not a seeker, maybe he was named an ‘honourary seeker’ by Starscream or something? Idk. But he ISNT a seeker in any way. Too big, too slow, too different.
So that’s my headcanon, I hope this fits in with your ideas

Their apparent importance would come from being the group primarily responsible for scouting the galaxy and extending Cybertron’s influence to other worlds for the purpose of establishing energon mines and possibly rediscovering the colonies after the space-bridge network went down.

New head cannon fresh ofc the presses, Seekers, are flying cybertronians that are specifically trained to fly in a skilled and tactical manner, this doesn’t mean that they are soldiers, just that they where TRAINED to fly WELL, Starscream says he led a squadron of energon Seekers, so that means that some Seekers where trained to find new deposits of energon when old ones ran out and where being refilled by the core, on the opposite side of that coin is the ‘Armada’ of Seekers that Dreadwing led, being in a Armada implies very heavily that Dreadwing and his brother where apart of the military, meaning that some Seekers could be trained in combat flight, and obviously this also applies to Seeker scientists, they are simply Seekers that are trained to be scientists.
On the other hand “Flyers” are simply cybertronians who can fly, but are untrained, or trained poorly, thusly we can infer that the Flyers that Starscream doesn’t call Seekers are simply that “Flyers” and that the Seekers that he calls Seekers are actual trained elite soldiers who earned the rank of Seekers.

1:10 additionally, the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games were also going for designs that were basically updated versions of the G1 character designs, hence why Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp all share the same body, just in different colours schemes.
The same applies for Ironhide and Ratchet, which is also in keeping with how Ironhide and Ratchet looked in G1 - the same body but with different colours and Ratchet having a slightly different head.

In my opinion there is at least a few different types of seekers and I do see them as a race, Seekers like Starscrem and I suppose Soundwave(I'm not sure where to put Soundwave in this) are full breed seekers, while bots like Dreadwing/Skyquake and Megatron are what I like to call Grounder-Seekers, so half breeds[This is just my little opinion, I could be wrong]

    • @Rubywing4
      @Rubywing4 4 года назад +10

Actually, Soundwave used to be a Grounder but underwent surgery to become a Flier, just like Megatron did. So Soundwave is not really a Seeker, much less a full breed Seeker.
In fact, the only legitimate Fliers in Prime (excluding the Predacons as they are a different race/species) are the three Seekers, Dreadwing, Skyquake and Starscream.
Everyone else either underwent surgery to become Fliers (Megatron, Soundwave, Flier Vehicons) or their flight mode is a helicopter (Airachnid) which is accessible for Grounders, like Blades in Rescue Bots.
In other words, Starscream and the Seeker Twins (I like to call them that) would technically be the only "full breed" or "pure" Seekers and even Fliers in Prime.
Heck, even in RID, Windblade is not a "pure" Flier, as she started out as a Grounder but was given wings and thrusters by Primus.
Whirl in Rescue Bots Academy also turns into a helicopter, making it uncertain if she's to be regarded as a "true" or "pure" Flier or not. And Hot Shot is a Grounder who got more modes including a plane with the help of a special insignia thing that allows for multi-changing.
All other flight-capable bots that are flight-based from creation are those beast Decepticons (and some Mini-Cons like Laserbeak), and I think some of the Cons in Cyclonus' group as well.
But otherwise, the three Seekers I mentioned are the only "true" Fliers, having been created as Fliers from "birth".
Huh. Maybe Seekers ARE a rare race after all... if it is to be regarded as a race, that is.
At least true Fliers do indeed seem to be pretty rare.
Jets, I mean. Not helicopters (wannabe-Flier Grounders) or beast-formers.

  • @Kamenriderneo
    @Kamenriderneo 2 года назад +2

I would say that seeker is a label. In the covenant of Primus guidebook to the Aligned Continuity, they do explain that Cybertron did have a social issue in the past, Alt-modism. The belief that a bot's worth and therefore his place in the social hierarchy is decided by his alternate form. under that belief, those who could turn into jets were always selected to be either scientist or part of the cybertronian air force. These latter were the ones called seekers and they were the elite. They would have better treatment, privileges, etc.
I believe the reason why Starscream doesn't call Megatron a seeker is because Megs got modified later in life to become a spaceship. In the first two novels and the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron video games, Megatron turned into a tank.
In the first novel they even say that Megs didn't have a name at the beginning of life, they just gave a number and sent to work in the mines of Kaion.

  • @Rubywing4
    @Rubywing4 4 года назад +12

I've been thinking a lot about Seekers, Starscream and Cybertronian society today, and now I've got an idea regarding Starscream's past, specifically his questionable "scientific career".
In Exodus, it says that Starscream spent much of his scientific career in Crystal City.
What if Starscream's so-called "scientific career" is actually his time in school?
Crystal City is pretty much a science city, and is well known for its Crystal City Science Institute. This is likely where Starscream has spent his scientific career.
But an institute is a school, and since Starscream is said in the book to NOT be a scientist, his scientific career is probably just the basic science he learned in school! XD
This would also make sense if, in order to become a Seeker, he needs to have both scientific knowledge and military training, to become one of the best Fliers on Cybertron.
So basically, after emerging from the Well, Starscream was put in the high caste because he's a flight frame and thus can do whatever the heck he wants, and he decides he wants to become a Seeker.
In order to do that, he starts with going to Crystal City Science Institute to learn science (probably struggling a bit because of some underlying mental issue) and after some years he graduates (whether being excellent or just above average) and gets his science degree.
Afterwards, he goes to military school and learns fighting, defense, strategy, formation and everything, and this is where he really thrives. Having already done science, he knows some things about math, calculations and stuff which probably helps him with the fighting, and he probably has a lot easier to do well with moving his body because of his natural agility and stuff. And also that he's a flight frame so there's probably some advantages there as well.
Starscream graduates from military school with flying colors (no pun intended) and gets his military degree (is that a thing?), and now he has trained both his mind and his body (actually a pretty good combination of education, I like where this is going). So now he's ready to become a Seeker.
Starscream returns to Vos (assuming the military school was elsewhere) and applies to become a Seeker. However, while he has met the requirements of military and scientific knowledge, he still has to pass a test, maybe a trial of sorts, consisting of three or more tests. Trial of the Seeker. (lol)
In this Seeker test/entrance exam, Starscream has to perform excellently, using both science and military training to get through some obstacle courses or something. The test is very hard, but he manages to pass and joins the Energon Seekers.
After becoming a Seeker, Starscream does... Seeker things. Flying, military, science, gets a good paycheck, he can do whatever he wants. And he does so well with Seeker stuff that he gets promoted over and over, until hey! He's the Air Commander now, which means he's the leader of the Seekers and thus the best Seeker and Flier on Cybertron! Congratulations!
And maybe while you're at it, go into politics and get lots of votes so you get appointed leader of Vos as well (Winglord for the fandom). Congratulations! You have a lot of power!
Now Starscream is the leader of Vos and the Air Command, and he's enjoying the luxury of being leader. Then he gets contacted by the High Council to go study some Dark Energon on Trypticon Station.
Then he becomes Sentinel Prime's bodyguard and earns his trust until he's bored and wants to become Prime himself, so he secretly supports Megatron until it's time to secretly imprison Sentinel on the moon. Then he goes to space to study Dark Energon.
Then Shockwave becomes leader of Tarn, and Vos and Tarn start arguing like they did in the old days. Then Shockwave convinces Starscream to bomb Tarn to seek out some Autobots hiding there.
Oops, Vos just got vaporized from a mysterious missile (probably from Tarn).
But Starscream isn't present because he's in space, but he's shocked over Vos' destruction, probably getting pretty pissed at Shockwave because he tricked him (or something).
Then Starscream's just chilling in space until Megatron decides he wants the Seekers and Dark Energon, so he invades Trypticon Station and forces the Seekers to join the Decepticons by force. Starscream may or may not have been present, depending on whether you're reading the book or playing the game (but he probably wasn't present, checking on Sentinel on the moon in the book).
So now Starscream's become Megatron's pet, starting as a pit bull but ended up as a chihuahua after learning he can't beat Megatron in a fight, so now instead he settles on being a second-in-command, but he really REALLY wants to be a leader again, so he waits for the right opportunity, but as time passes, his confidence and self-esteem decreases as his relationship with Megatron is eternally bad, he has no friends and no one cares to listen to him except for the Vehicons and other bottom-hierarchy troopers.
They cruise through space until they land on Earth where they continue fighting the Autobots, until Megatron decides to go to space, Starscream's in charge, he's happy for three years, then Megatron returns and Starscream is sad.
But then Megatron dies and Starscream is happy again for a few months until Megatron returns to life, then Starscream becomes sad again. Then he leaves the Decepticons and gets lonely, occasionally helping the Autobots. Then he loses the ability to transform and is miserable.
Then he gets the Omega Keys and returns to the Decepticons and is happy again. Then Shockwave returns and Starscream is sad again. Then a Predacon arrives and Starscream gets anxious.
Megatron dies, Starscream gets depressed, Megatron returns, Starscream is happy, then disappointed as Megatron is not Megatron but instead possessed by Unicron, and Starscream becomes more anxious than ever. Then Megatron is freed and Starscream is happy, but Megatron disbands the Decepticons and Starscream is confused.
Starscream is happy again because he is now leader of the Decepticons, but then gets anxious as he gets confronted by the Predacons.
He may or may not end up in a coma afterwards, depending on whether we go with RID or Mercy.
And that is the life of Starscream.

  • @TheScwall
    @TheScwall 4 года назад +6

The Bayverse (which the Aligned continuity has... "tried" to incorporate) has Jetfire identify himself as a Seeker, stating that it was their purpose to seek out new energy sources to be harvested. Perhaps the "modern-day " Seekers are a sub-class/branch of bots who retain some design vestiges of this seemingly long-forgotten purpose? So while not all flyers would not necessarily be Seekers, the innate sensory enhancements, and energy tracking capabilities of Seekers would probably make them highly prized additions to the militarized airforces as trackers and Hunter-Killers.
Following this line of thought, then, No - Megatron would not be considered a Seeker, despite being modified for flight, etc because he is simply not "of the right blood" (...energon?).
Perhaps Starscreams "Seeker Armada" of flying drones did have some sort of design/genetic link back to the "true" Seeker line, or perhaps by the time the show takes place, "Seeker" has lost its original connotations (like the Sith (Race) & the Sith (Faith) in Star Wars)
.... Or maybe Starscream has delusions of grandeur and is show-boating. :)

    • @Rubywing4
      @Rubywing4 4 года назад +3

I totally agree with the energy-seeking part, that would make sense for them to be called Seekers, and especially Starscream calling his old group "Energon Seekers".
I think Energon Seeker is a Scientist class of Fliers in the video games, but I've always had the idea that the Energon Seekers was a sub faction that Starscream was part of before the Autobots and Decepticons. This faction might have collapsed as they all joined the Decepticons (excluding Jetfire, unless you go by the book (literally), in which case including Jetfire).
I like to imagine Megatron using Starscream as an energy-seeking dog of some kind XD
Or that Megatron is using the Seekers to "seek out" Energon. Like bloodhounds. Or Energon-hounds, I guess. XD
Though the energy-seeking enhanced skill might something they've learned through training, and they might be better at seeking because of how their race is made? Perhaps because of the traits EK mentioned?

I think he wasn't ORIGINALLY a seeker. Back in the old days of cybertron, he was actually a tank for the most part, until metroplex crushed him up. After that, Soundwave repaired Megatron with a new body, and now his alt mode is now a jet. (while yes, it is classified as a tank, it's probably due to them not wanting to change Megatron as a playable character too much from the first cybertron game anyway.)
However, he technically isn't considered one at all, considering he doesn't have the same body style as starscream.

Kinda like how you would call people who work in law enforcement cops, coppers, police, the popo, etc. I like to think that starscream calling the new silver vehicons seekers was more or less a heat of the moment thing, because of the emotional build up to him taking flight and his anger at Optimus for destroying the omega lock, essentially making starscream accept these new vehicons as his fellow seekers.

my theory is that all transformers with a natural inclination to flight will naturally gravitate thoward a flight-capable form as they take their first alternate, and at this point will be induced into a primary-school level of instruction about possible roles. this is where ground-bound transformers wil, at large, trace the line, with bots that have different charattheristic, like beastformers and triple changer not being called seeckers
after that, i'd vager there would be a working class division, with the best fliers going on to a higher level of competence-based roles and call themselves seeckers, while the others will moove thoward other roles that more closelly fits to them, and will not call themselves seeckers
bot that were not born with the aptitude of flight (or missed some connection where it comes to have a working flight-capable form) and gained the ability later in life never went throught the process, so they are most certantly not seeckers
the veicon silver squadron went throught a seeker-foussing training/programming, and that is why starscream calls them seecker

I like the idea of jets having certain behavioral quirks in fanon, because I LOVE fanon, but only if every alt type gets their own little quirks. My jokey hcs for two-wheelers come from the fact that motorcycles are called 'hogs,' ie two wheelers have cute boar characteristics in the same way fanon likes to make seekers birds. This might include affectionately brushing against comrades and an acute sense of smell. Big, strong, friend shaped bots (like Bulk or BD) making elephantine rumbling noises and fighting 'mourning instincts.' I dunno. I just like giant robots having cute, individualizing mannerisms I guess.

I think it is both title/occupation, and also a race or rather sub-race. How I mean this is that in the start it might have been a catch all term for all flight capable bots, though in the early series I think flight capable an combat ability was a hallmark of being a decepticon over a autobot, but than over time it began to mean specifically the elite or natural born flyers. Kinda like how in real life you had in the past the Scandivians that made up people from the areas around Norway, and within these groups you had the Vikings specifically, but over time it seemed that all Scandivians began to be called Vikings. I can see how also such a title that was seen as being quite prized might change in perception to being seen as am omsult, as in the past Witch used to mean "wise women" yet began to be seen as a evil women later on making it into a insult.

I am currently working on a fic set in Starscream's past (as a prequel to my Autobot!Starscream fic), and I decided to flesh out the details of the Seekers as a faction more.
We already know there's the Air Commander, Captain and Sky Commander ranks (the last one from the video games), but those can't be all there is.
So I decided to come up with a ranking system for the Seekers as a military, including the Sky Commander title from the video games.
Since the Sky Commander is basically the "leader" of the Seekers, and Starscream is addressed as an Air Commander after joining the Decepticons, my guess is that the Sky Commander title was simply abolished, perhaps to signify that Starscream falls below Megatron in status.
Anyways, here are the Seeker ranks:
Academy student = Fliers/Seekers normally have to attend Seeker Academy for 5 years before being able to join the Seeker army as Cadets.
Cadet = New Seeker, usually fresh out of the Seeker Academy, is part of a small group of 5 other Cadets and overseen by a First Major or a Third Major substitute, Cadets are usually promoted after 2 years of training, but geniuses may be promoted after 1 year of training. If a Cadet remains a Cadet after 4 years and still fails the exam, they will be kicked out of the Seeker army. They are called First Cadet and Second Cadet, Third Cadet and Fourth Cadet if they are bad.
Novice = Rookie Seeker, above Cadet, part of a small group of 5 other Novices and overseen by a Second Major or Third Major, Novices usually are promoted after 5 years of training, talented ones may be promoted after 4 years of training, geniuses may be promoted after 3 years of training. They are called First Novice, Second Novice, Third Novice, Fourth Novice and Fifth Novice.
Officer = Generic Seeker, the main part of the Seeker army, usually grouped in smaller armies overseen by a Captain and a Lieutenant. Officers are the most expendable Seekers but are competent fighters and/or scientists, runs errands and patrols when not fighting. Officers are usually grouped together into smaller Trines.
Major = Officer that has potential for leadership, stationed away from their assigned division to train groups of Cadets and Novices and get them promoted into Officers. When a Major successfully graduates an entire Cadet class into Novices - no failures - he/she will be promoted from First Major to Second Major. First Majors train Cadets, Second Majors train Novices. When a Second Major successfully graduates an entire class of Novices into Officers, he/she will be promoted to Third Major, which makes the Seeker a candidate for a Lieutenant position. Third Majors have to graduate more than 50% of their classes to a higher rank in order to keep this candidate position, if less than or equal to 50% of their classes graduate, the Third Major's position will be re-evaluated and possibly demoted to Second Major and possibly even First Major.
Lieutenant = Superviser of the Seeker armies and paired with Captains. Each Captain has a Lieutenant as a second-in-command, sometimes two if in a Trine thus called First Lieutenant and Second Lieutenant, in case the Captain is busy or absent. If something happens to the Captain, the Lieutenant will be promoted to Captain and have a Major assigned as his/her own Lieutenant. If there are two Lieutenants, the First Lieutenant will take over as Captain, the Second Lieutenant becomes First Lieutenant, and they may or may not add a Third Major as a Second Lieutenant. Lieutenants also help the Captain file reports on Cadets and Novices. *First Lieutenant in the Decepticons is a different rank from First Lieutenant in the Seekers.*
Captain = Commander of a single Seeker army of a certain section of the Seeker bases/territories, has a Lieutenant as a second-in-command for assistance. Each section has a Captain assigned to lead the army within, assigning tasks to the Seeker Officers, leads the army into battle and takes care of trivial business as well, such as rescue missions, espionage, patrol, science and exploration. Captains also sit as candidates for a position in the Seeker Council/Air Command, as Air Commanders. The Captains may be part of a Trine with other Captains, his/her Lieutenant(s) and/or a Major, but they are often Trineless.
Air Commander = Second highest rank among the Seekers, part of the Seeker Council. There are seven Air Commanders, some specializing in military and others in science, some even in stealth. The Air Commanders make the most important decisions together with the Sky Commander, and some may be part of Trines. There are always two Air Commanders together with the Sky Commander in the Leader Trine. When the Sky Commander title is abolished after merging with the Decepticons, Air Commander is now the leading title, but this causes some minor chaos among the Air Commanders, whether they are all to be leaders or to be demoted to Captains.
Sky Commander = Leader of the Seekers and head of the Seeker Council with seven Air Commanders. The Sky Commander commands all the Seeker armies and the Captains in major battles and in war, but lets the Captains and Lieutenants take care of more trivial stuff like recruitment and training. The Sky Commander may also be the Wing Lord of Vos and is thus a major political leader among the Fliers. If something happens to the Sky Commander, the Air Commanders will vote for who will be the next Sky Commander. The winning vote will be presented to the Seeker armies for approval before the final decision is made. A Captain will then be selected as a new Air Commander, a Lieutenant will become a Captain, and a Third Major will become a new Lieutenant. The Sky Commander has a Leader Trine with two other Air Commanders that go with the Sky Commander everywhere. The Sky Commander may visit the various armies, classes and the Seeker Academy to view their progress, deliver messages or embark on expeditions or journeys to embassies in other citites for political purposes. The Sky Commander is always the best Seeker in the army and takes a lot of effort and trust to become.
...And that's all I got on the ranks. I like how it turned out, and I've been putting quite a lot of effort into this and working it into my story as I only just recently came up with it, while I've had this story lying around for over a year now.
    What do you think? :)

I know this might sound stupid, but I think that "seeker" as a term is similar to how descriptive and sometimes even derogatory terms are applied irl (though not entirely, I'll elaborate on that) , seekers are less a race or profession and more a conglomerate of all transformers that can fly or are based on jet fighters. While the term itself could have other connotations, like for example being a job or a caste, the term itself has evolved into involving all jet based transformers, and what we are seeing with aerialbots refusing to use the term "seeker" could be an even further evolution of the usage of this term, it seems like it is starting to be related to the Decepticons too, this term being used both with a racial and political connotation could have pretty bad implications in my opinion. By that I mean that, for example, an aerial bot could work all his life with the autobots and try not to be a "seeker", but at the end of the day his peers will see him as one and associate him to those seekers he's trying to alienate himself from, since to them the term not only means "jet bots working for the bad guys", but just "jet bots" in general, making them the same as the other "seekers", kinda like that "I am X group of people, but i'm not like those other X group people" attitude that one sees from time to time irl.
Again, this sounds rather stupid but i thought that it might be a good addition to this argumen about what the hell are seekers.

I’d rather look at the seekers as a group of elite fliers, every seeker is a flier but not all fliers are seekers. They probably used this group for military used on cybertron. Some races of fliers were probably more skilled or talented to be built at flying than another and may have dominated the most of the seeker ranks for example starscreams body type. Exceptions of other types of fliers who were part of the seeker organisation/ranking/group were bots like sky quake and his bro.
U do get other type of fliers but usually they don’t end up being seekers maybe because their t cog may not be accustomed to take on proper jet flying forms such as sound wave and arachnid or even megatron (who may have possibly either done surgery orrr his t cog may have flexibility to scan both ground and flying types)
In conclusion I just believe seekers were an elite group of fliers. Every cybertronian has a unique t cog, some are more accustomed to flight, some ground and some maybe a bit of both depending on the flexibility of there tcog.

Seeker's are a core of natural flyer's trained in certain fields only flyer's could have an advantage in. So most of the time scientific, and the lower percentage air defence patrols after the whole Quintason invasion... being a flyer has to be the only form they have ever known. The purple vheeacon's are all clones of the same original, so the flyer's are technically modified.
The silver on the other hand... don't give the impression of clumsy guesswork. Inexperienced in actual battle yes, however they were slightly more effective when you consider how strong the enemies got...
Energon Seeker's could find and or study Energon. They would be trained extensively in evasion considering the cosmic horror stories told on Cybertron; for their own safety.
So it's safe to say all natural flyer's would be given atleast basic training and the choice to go further given Starscream's Pride and the twins sense of honour tied to their own pride. I can deduce Seeker's are a proud people who would not want for weakness in their ranks.
Very few natural flyers would have been out cast... if any.
Of course this is only theoretical based on logic and some circumstancal evidence... Seeker's would have been a parallel to cybertronian civilisation. Likely outcast yet kept close if only for their usefulness. Kept at arms length treated as colleagues instead of friends which would explain why it was so easy for most of them to join the Decepticon rebellion.... as very few of them would have been treated normally by other cybertronians outside their format as a natural flyer.

0:20 "Seekers are an elite group of the best of the best fliers."
So if Starscream's the leader of the Seekers...
...does that make him the best of the best of the best? XD
I also like the idea that Grounders act like Seekers are a race but the Seekers themselves are like "Eh...NO????" XD That's pretty racist... or... something else-cist.
Kinda like calling Jews a race when it's just a religion, like Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism or Islam. Anyone can convert into either religion, that doesn't mean they're changing race, which makes it very incorrect for people to refer to followers of these religions as a race. It would be more correct to call it religionicist... or something.
I also like that Seeker is basically a warrior/scientist hybrid class.
5:44 I also can't help but notice that the two outer rows of Seekers here each have 8 Vehicons, while the middle row only has 7 Vehicons, making 23 Seekers in total here. Why is there 1 Seeker missing from a perfect line-up? I've wondered that ever since I first watched that episode and noticed the missing Seeker.
    Agility trait = Check!
    "Claustrophobia" trait = Check!
Restrained wings are bad = Check!
Great long-distance vision = Check! OMG YES I NEVER REALIZED THAT Star has an awesome vision!
Searching = Check! That's why they call them "Seekers"! XD
    Skill = Great skill CHECK!
    Training = TRAIN HARD CHECK!
    SEEKERS FTW!!!
In my story, I actually have Megatron give this order to Thundercracker and Skywarp: "Seekers, seek!" like telling a dog to fetch XD
Despite the much fandom saying Starscream's quirks are because he's a Seeker, I don't fully agree with that. I can agree with some of those traits you described like great vision, claustrophobia, agility and aversion to wing restraints, but most of Starscream's quirks are...
...just Starscream. Dreadwing and Skyquake don't act like him, and I'm pretty sure the other Seekers like TC, Skywarp and Slipstream don't act quite as "intense" as him.
Again, a lot points at Starscream having probably more than one mental disorder like ADHD and/or autism, which I very much subscribe to now and is part of my headcanon.
So Starscream being quirky is probably more because of being forged with a different mindset than being a Seeker.
Though as far as I believe, Skywarp may also have the same things, although it is hard when he's such a neglected character and barely does anything... but from what I've seen of him, he probably has a mental disorder or more as well. Probably also ADHD and/or autism, that's my headcanon as well.
I'm just really starting to analyze the bots to see what's going on in their heads and what type of brains they might have. ^^ I love neurodiversity:3
My dad has ordered Exiles for me as a late birthday present (turned 22 in the autumn vacation) and it could arrive as late as November 14, so I'm really looking forward to getting it and reading it! :D
So hopefully I can get more Seekers to read! :D
I'm glad to know I learned something new in this video, particularly Starscream's excellent vision XD Something new to mention and address and write about in my fics! XD
And a few other things maybe, but I knew most of it.
    Awesome video, as always! :3

I'm assuming Seekers are similar to Aces. So Seekers are like successful, skillful pilots.

I've seen the wiki refer to the Vehicon Seekers as "Ace Vehicons" as well.
They are definitely the best Fliers on Cybertron.
Which makes Starscream the best of the best.
Or, if going by what the video says, Seekers being the best of the best Fliers, Starscream is the best of the best of the best XD

I think that not all Cybertronians are seekers cause some could be doing a different jobs (well they are seekers) just not doing airl jobs- do you get what I'm saying

So seekers are basically the Vikings of TF? Most people think it's a race, but it's actually an occupation

LOL I never thought of them as vikings, but that's pretty funny to imagine XD
