I have the same 12 with me here in DR Congo, really good value. I enjoy it as a nice alternative to Springbank. I have a bunch of Kilkerran WIPs in the bunker that I cannot wait to open.
Love the review of KK12! Have a KK8 ExBourbon in the ol’cabinet and kinda nursing it, as it is a great bottle. Need some of that Sugar Cookie Crème Brûlée Shawn! Great feedback Drew on what you expect from a Campbeltown distillery. Nice analysis Andrew, as always. Wonder what Dr. Scotch would think 🧐😁! Cheers Dummies!
There are three distilleries in Campbeltown, and it's really only Springbank that has the funk. Glen Scotia doesn't really have it. Kilkerran has some. Your high funk expectation of the Kilkerran is a bit misplaced, I think.
Well said! The boldness of those 8 year olds (ex-bourbon or ex-sherry) and the nuanced approach of the 16 do leave this 12 year in a sort of odd void. But being the entry expression, I suppose that's why it's less.lf a standout.
Hey guys, I would like to suggest the Glenfarclas 25, which is only around $250 for a 25-year-old whisky. I hope you guys will review it because I want to know if it is good or not before buying it.
How is it that you have never reviewed this before??? This is a WOW whisky at $69!! Forgive me I have a few backups of the old tall KK bottles. Coming out of Campbelltown, I find it with price gouging up to $129. It's a 46% malt, and a fabulous one that I started to drink when I was ready to move on from the Deanston 12 and the Arran 10. Like the second lap on the journey.
You should try it again before giving it a score. When I first tried it I was really unimpressed. A few days later it was a different matter entirely. I got into it, very good scotch!
Wow, I have consistently heard you guys give much higher prices than I pay for bottles where I live in the US going back many years. $85 ? $120 is a good price for this where I am ? Buy 6 of these for that price. Cheers guys

I love Kilkerran. Wish it was more readily available!
ok so I'm not the only one. In my area these are so not readily available and my local Total Wine doesn't even carry them.

I love the 8 and 16 but this is a beauty! Fabulous! Integrity bottling!! I find the 8 and 16 more complex.

One of the best 12 yrs out there! Comparable to SpringBank 10.
Love Kilkerran as many here. I get a little more funk than you did, certanily agree with the sugar cookie too. Thanks for sharing!
LOVE THAT STUFF!!!!!! Great review as always Gents!!!! Got a few bottles of that wonderful stuff !!!

I don't think we're had that yet either - will have to see about that.
@@Scotch4Dummieshope it gonna be a solid one ^^. The price seem really good.

Paid $100 for mine last year in California
Wow, it is very high?!
Actually think it is better than the 16y😋
Kilkerran 12 is most certainly not readily available.
Kilkerran 12 year readily available? Where is this paradise? By me Kilkerran hasn't been seen in a store in close to a year.
Much more $$ to get in Canada.
Getting really tired of hearing about how great scotches I can’t find are 😆 stupid Ohio
$85 is cheap for a 12 yo scotch!
