Mass evacuation in Vietnam! Super typhoon yagi with 203 km/h winds destroys buildings and homes

- Super Typhoon Yagi, the most powerful storm in Asia this year, has made landfall in northern Vietnam.
The storm hit Hai Phong and Quang Ninh provinces with winds of up to 203 kmh (126 mph) on Saturday morning, the Indo-Pacific Tropical Cyclone Warning Center said.
In Hai Phong, metal roof sheets and commercial sign boards were seen flying across the city. One man was killed after winds brought down a tree.

I've never seen anything like Typhoon Yagi. The winds were so strong that they ripped roofs off houses and uprooted massive trees like they were nothing.
I don’t know… It might have been strong, but I’ve seen typhoons do worse damage before.
It was insane! The way those trees were just ripped out of the ground was shocking.
Totally agree! I’ve seen a lot of storms, but Typhoon Yagi was on another level with how much destruction it caused.

I think you're overstating it. Yes, it was powerful, but we’ve had typhoons with similar destruction in the past.

確かに規格外の台風だけど、高層ビルの窓やマンションの屋根部分が飛ばされるのは建て方の問題もある気がしますね。
The glass itself is fine, but the door frame cannot withstand it. By the way, northern Vietnam has never experienced wind speeds above 200km/m while Yagi has gusts of about 240km/h.

台風に無防備なベトナムというより有り得ないほどの猛威の台風ヤギ。 うちの家なんか吹き飛ばされてるだろうな。 １０号で杉の木が傾いたのでどうやって切り倒そうか思案中なんてお遊びみたいなもん。ベトナムは対策しとかないとヤバイと感じただろうね。
This storm is as strong as Typhoon Jebi which hit Japan in 2018. Wind speeds reached 195-260km/h. Currently, Vietnam has 4 casualties.
Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) and Hai Phong are in the process of cleaning up. It is true that we do not have much experience in dealing with storms. It will take at least 2 days for our lives to return to normal.
