  • I custom bend my large battery cable lugs to accommodate any angle and only need to stock flat cable lugs. This provides for the cleanest large wire installation and one that the lugs have the least resistance with their connections and the wire the least stress at each electrical connection on my DIY expedition camper.
I have install a 1,800 amp-hour lithium battery system with three pairs of 300 amp-hour battery strings in series to raise the voltage to 24 volts for greater efficiency and lower amperage on my DIY expedition camper.
I installed six 300 amp-hour Chins lithium iron phosphate batteries and four Victron Lynx Distribution busses all connected as one main 24 volt distribution. Between each battery pair and the Lynx I installed a Blue Sea ML-RBS (Magnetic Latching Remote Battery Switch) which allows me to disconnect any one or all of these battery pairs remotely for safety when accessing the raised floor to inspect the batteries or in an emergency shut down. Being able to disconnect these high-out batteries from a safe distance is a very nice feature.
Recent videos show battery cable wiring, battery testing, and lots of other details about my DIY expedition camper build underway.
I recently built this Total Composites expedition camper on my Mitsubishi Fuso EarthCruiser CORE 4x4 expedition truck chassis, and am finishing out the interior cabinets, electrical and plumbing systems, and about to paint the entire exterior of this camper and the cab.

Hello. Here are two videos of why I chose the Fuso over the many other vehicles I looked at, including Unimog, LMTV, Land Rover, Ford E450 and F550, Mercedes Sprinter or 12+ series trucks, and others: ruclips.net/video/QRfwYIC-GlM/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/liZisJ-AmOk/видео.html. I think a4x4 Fuso or NPR provides the best balance of off road capability, compactness while having large payload and camper space and serviceability of its drivetrain. It's not perfect, and all vehicles have their pros and cons, but in my evaluation for my needs and what is available to me in the US, it was best. Comfort is good, off road capability and payload are great, as are size/compactness for trail and road driving and ample space for camper. American pickups mostly available where I live area great vehicles but with a terribly long hood and wheelbase that materially and negatively impair their drivability on and offroad. I'll share more of my experiences driving as this gets built out and regularly in use, which will be soon.

Personally I am not a fan of this technique, but it works nontheless.

Just bending copper at a bend point, so doesn't weaken the lug and yet improves the electrical connection with better conductivity with the surface of the lug while reducing strain on wires. It's the same result as it buying pre-bent lugs but those bends don't always match the bends needed to align with wire angles.
