Interesting review on what looks to be an interesting film. I have been called a sasquatch myself a lot since high school. It might be interesting to see how my relatives live.
Given my longstanding interest in the subject of Sasquatch, I just watched the film tonight. Not quite sure how I feel about it yet, other than that the slice-of-life story was quite odd in most ways, humorous in several ways, and touching in even fewer, yet was well-shot and presented a wonderful snapshot of northern Californian flora and fauna. I’ll post back if I have anything else useful to post after I sleep on it 😅 P.S., a slice of life film on an of the major lake serpents would be pretty fun, or a take on the life of Mokele Mbembe. 😊
You basically summed up my thoughts on it too. Weird, somewhat funny, with some minor deeper themes that threaten to peak through at times. Ooh, nice picks!
That's fair. I know I saw a ton of stuff back in the old days of MoviePass just because I could. 31 movies for $9.99 certainly made me a lot less picky 😆
It looks interesting but the behavioral details sound an awful lot like my daily bus commute, although the subjects do look far more appealing than some my fellow commuters.
Since the recorded sightings of these ‘neighbours’ is on the short side and there’s so much negative press about the reality of this, a full feature about brief sightings might not do the subject justice. I mean if according to the critics it’s a human invention then what’s wrong with filling it with how humans actually fill their days. Sometimes the truth is painful.
A good idea ruined with attempted "gross out comedy" bs. So much bodily fluids, you can tell they used it as filler because they couldn't think of a plot or literally anything else to do It seems like a couple stoners said "a Bigfoot documentary would be cool" and started filming the next day with no preparation or writing. Bad writing all around. It's Bigfoot jackass.
It was disgusting and lost the plot from the start. Tge sasquatches are obviously acting like modern day humans. Where sex and drugs are the highlight of life. And the raising of the family is just the burden of a single mother. Every time the film had a chance to do something funny or fun. They delivered the punch line in such a grotesque way that the only thing you felt is disgust and disappointment. The only highlight of the film were the epic shots with the wildlife. Stunning and beutiful. But the rest was garbage.
Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy this slice-of-life nature documentary. As a biologist, I feel obligated to note that the driving force behind the lives of individuals of most species is reproduction. This is the result of a concept that we call "fitness" in biology - a measure of an individual's ability to pass on their genetic material to future generations. The fact that these (admittedly fictional) cryptid animals frequently mate or attempt to mate doesn't mean they're acting like modern-day humans... it simply means they're acting like animals. Similarly, the drug scenes are the result of happenstance foraging, as is the case with most animals that ingest hallucinogenic or fermented foods.

I just watched two trailers and a scene sample and couldn't suspend my disbelief enough and laughed heartily.
Oh nice, I didn't realize they had cut a second trailer for this one.
I can't find it
@@MainelyMoviesI can't find it
The trailer? The red band trailer is available on Bleecker Street's RUclips channel.

It's a very unique one, that's for sure haha.
Ughhh gggg mbuga??! 👣👣💪🏾💪🏾
I saw the movie last night and I liked it. As you said different from mainstream movies, I love to see different types of movies.
Nice, glad to hear it! Yeah, different is definitely an apt word to describe this one haha.
Awesome RUclips channel. Seriously great review keep grinding!
Thanks, I appreciate it!

Ooh, nice picks!
I'm just hearing about this film. Looks interesting.
Interesting is definitely an apt adjective to describe this one haha.
We are going to see it in a few hours. I cant wait.
Awesome, curious to hear what you thought of it!
@MainelyMovies It was ok. I hoped it would have been funnier, but overall, I'm glad I saw it.
@shannonsullivan4858 That's fair! Glad you were able to get some enjoyment out of it.
One thing I learned from this film is that no definitely means no when it comes to mountain lions.....
I'd say it's a good lesson to live by!
I finally watched this movie and liked it
Nice! I'm going to have to rewatch it at some point here haha.
Looks awesome!! Where can i buy it?
You'll probably be able to buy it on blu-ray a few months after its theatrical release.
I booked it :) might as well not a big financial risk on my Regal Unlimited.
Ok my guess its their touch of humanity that does the dumb stuff.. :)

Makes me glad we don't have public transportation here in Maine haha.
There's a reason most movies don't show scenes of the characters shitting.
Yes, psuedo nature documentaries are fairly rare.
????
And?

Huh? This film isn't about brief sightings. It fully focuses on a family of sasquatch.
Why am i not surprised she's not grossed out by poo...
We wildlife biologists don't have the luxury of being grossed out by something as benign and ordinary as feces 😆
Im a believer and am still asking why.
Entertainment and creative outlet for the two brothers who made it, I suspect.
Do you mean that you’re a believer in Sasquatch?
Hey this was pretty neat, thanks! A friend and I are gonna watch this today lol
Thanks for watching! Nice, you'll have to come back and let me know what you thought of it haha.
Is this someone's precious vanity project finally funded and filmed?
Just another odd film by a filmmaking pair known for making strange movies.
Yo, why not give the benefit of the doubt before talking shit?
Precious vanity? Are you some kind of loser? Figures
It is original but it should be called The Bodily Secretions of Big Foot. Gross and disgusting.
Yup, we mammals sure do produce a lot of fluids as a part of normal every day life.
@@MainelyMovies But in graphic extreme close up? I will give the movie credit for originality but it was nauseating.
Be a fucking man
big foot 🦶 brill 😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
It's wild 😂
It was original
That's for sure haha
THE FILM TO ME LOOKS LIKE ITS A CHILDS IDEA
It's possible, like I literally say in the review. 😆
i find your capital letters compelling, I AGREEE. PFFT.
This looks amazing!!!!!
It's definitely unlike anything else out there!

Man, imagine how utterly amazing the hair and makeup would've been if they had prepared for more than a single day!

😂😅 Your comment makes me want to buy 10 tickets and 30 digital copies.
I want them to make sequels so you can get mad & sad about it.
I already ordered it on Prime Video. 😁
