Try it out in mad games. Since HE always max rolls (kinda) for healing allies, it can put out crazy amounts of healing. (Also irradiator with an HE pen is incredible, you’re pretty much a T49 with worse pen)
always did play the "healer" when im on mad games. would crawl behind a competent heavy and pump him with HP. don't forget to fire HE coz yes, pen doesn't matter when healing, just damage.
This is my favorite tank in Blitz whenever this gun is mounted. I'm sorry you thought it was torture xD It's all about memorizing the armor profiles. The point to this tank is: Hunting enemy light and medium tanks, and hitting then running away from enemy tanks at 65kph. I REALLY can't recommend this gun enough if you're looking for an equivalent to a T49 at a lower tier. Once you learn where you can pen everything, then you'll be all set and ready to troll. @@vc7658 Short answer is that it is pretty risky if you're worried about stats at first until you get at least decent at it. Long answer is well, it's not a great gun for most people who aren't greatly experienced in quickly switching ammo types, and the bad penetration may lose you some games to the front of heavies at mid-long range. But once you learn what you can pen with each ammo type and master the art of run and gun, then it becomes worth it. (Also flanking and using camo/view range) IMO people just stop trying to play with this gun too early and don't give themselves a fair chance to learn how to use it. The best way to get really good with the gun without raging during the learning period is by platooning w/ two of them :) WHEN YOU START WITH THIS GUN YOU WILL LIKELY LOWER YOUR STATS. Your teams may dislike seeing you using this in battle, but if you stick through it and get good... Then you'll surprise a lot of people and have a lot of fun. I think to remember LittleFinger both mentioned the gun being bad. I bought the tank back at a huge loss and won the next five battles using the smaller gun. Tip: grind either the British heavy line before grinding TD line because you'll unlock the M120 engine on the Caernarvon, which is the same engine as the Tortoise. Or you can grind the British medium line to get the M120 engine on the Centurion 7/1, but I wouldn't recommend that.

I think the VK 28.01 is one of my favorite tanks because it is incredibly fast and the pen on the best gun is great, and you can occasionally get a troll bounce off of opponents
Been using the vk.28 for almost 7 years now. It's great against other scouts and has excellent spotting. I especially enjoy ramming those annoying little Amx's lol
The VK 28.01 is pain for both users and enemies because 1) It's a light tank meaning weak armour & small HPs capacity. 2) The 105mm barrel can took sometime to reload, therefore you become the most vulnerable in your team due to low HPs capacity this tank has. Especially when being chased by fast enemies. 3) Enemy TDs (specifically, turretless or thin armoured) are most vulnerable against this tank, with or without the 105 mm barrel.
I don’t know about the vk 28 but that same 10,5cm gun on the panzer 4 was awesome. It felt good dealing 400 damage in a single shot with a tier 5 med. Closest thing we have now is scavenger with the 94mm gun. It has awful HE pen though.
When I started grinding the leopard 1 line I got this around the same time uprising came out. So, HEAT + HE + Invisibility = annoying heavys and taking 300+ dmg of lights
I have the Centurion I right now and it's not a bad tank in general. Try to go hull down in it as much as possible because TD HE rounds will go directly through your weak hull. I recommend using free experience to research the top turret and gun because you do not want a 160 alpha gun when you're playing tier 9. The Centurion I isn't really talked about much because it's preceded by the Comet, which has an amazing fast-firing gun, and it's followed by the Centurion 7/1, which has HESH. Anyway, good luck with your British tech tree grind. I like those tanks very much.

cmon on I did 3.2k in this spamming HE and HEAT and only firing AP when I can pen reliably its a fun little gun for me, like a t49 at tier 6 but with crap AP and decent HE pen
XD. I played with Droodles (I was in my T29) in Hellas while he was in this, and he got rushed by a Type 62 and M41 Bulldog, lost all his hitpoints (40 Left), and was only able to dish 812 damage. He almost lost, but his team (a decent Tiger 1) clutched a dumb 2v1. The thing was good against tier 5s in the good old days, but it’s pretty bad now, especially against tier sevens, while it really can’t do well with HE against most tier six meds and maybe even some lights. Edit: Lol, I just checked, and it was his first game (as well as his first win!), and he did decently for being new with the gun. He should revisit the IS-3 or the T-43 because both are very strong tanks, the IS-3 in it’s turret and pikenose, and the T-43 with it sloped armor and great DPM. Also, does anyone remember the old trick with the IS-3, where you could shoot the roof of the turret with the square patch of metal? Anyone know if it works now with the re-skin of the turret?

Nate Chisholm Kv1 is a heavy and it has awful HE penetration. It also lacks AP shell. Scavenger is a medium,just like panzer 4
