When I was 10 a looong time ago, my family was moving across the country to Montreal. My mother decided we had too many dolls. I think there were 27. We were allowed 2 each so I lined them all up and kindly explained to each one why they were not chosen. It was heartbreaking 💔. I ended up taking my Sleeping Beauty doll and Julie, a doll with only one arm and a broken eye because, well, how was she ever going to manage on her own? Your lineup of dolls brought back such a strong childhood memory.
Christmas does that to you Paula, I was crying over the Christmas tea towels my Mum bought for us more than 20 years ago. She’s gone now but those tea towels live on. Happy Christmas to all of you. Xx
Loved this- Ian giving it some on the bell; another game of Deal or No Deal; the names of your dolls: Spinach and Chungus; but most of all, the lovely memories that you shared of spending Christmas Eve with your Dad.
Christmas this year is becoming quite emotional for me too memories of my late husband , I started crying at a photo of him the morning . My poor granddaughter was most concerned bless her.
I love your childhood memories how lovely your Dad was to get 15denier stockings & Principals clothes for Mum No shame in tears of joy The mince pies & sausage rolls looked very tasty not long to your favourite day 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Lovely to hear the wonderful memories of your Christmas Eve spent with your dad🩷your vlogmas has been amazing , enjoyed hearing all about your days leading up to Christmas, wishing you ,James,Meg ,Johnnie ,Lizzie ,Pam,Ian,Lillian,Gary,Patsy and Lovely a very happy Christmas🎄
Oh, I understand about the emotions! I was very surprised to find myself being so teary-eyed today about memories that usually make me smile. I was singing right along with you but our cats don’t have the bell-ringing skills of wonderful Ian.
You've got me all verklempt this morning! In the best way of course... I find myself tearing up over Christmas carols - the waterworks just start and there is not stopping them! it can be a very emotional time of year and I'm just going with it lol! My dad LOVED Christmas and would also enlist help in shopping for my mom; I hold those memories dear especially now that my mom is now in her 90's and forgetting things - that's hard for all of us but she's in good spirits and is still her sweet and beautiful self. Merry Christmas Paula! and thanks for vlogmas - we all truly enjoy every bit it!
I feel like you today, kind of weepy. It’s my 1st Christmas without my dad. I’ve been thinking about him all day. I agree. I love Christmas Eve too. Anxiously waiting for Santa 😊
Happy Christmas Paula, or as my hubby calls you 'Gary's mom'😂, this episode had everything special in it, but top marks have to go to Ian with his superb bell ringing skills ❤❤❤
Aww Paula you made me cry with you, it's that time of year where precious Christmas memories come to mind, I think a lot of people are feeling nostalgic at the moment for kinder times. 💕🌲
oh Paula, how sweet. Tears of happy memories are wonderful. You had a lovely time at Christmas when you were still at home. (and now of course) You are a special lady Paula. I love watching every one of your videos.
Bless you Paula, you made my day! Ian was just delightful today, he was in perfect time. I feel the same, I can get quite emotional thinking back at Christmas memories, nostalgic. Glad you are feeling better, hope Meg is much better for Christmas. See you tomorrow, Hugs Suze. 🤗🐈⬛🛎️🎄 x
Seeing you get emotional about your Mum and Dad in the old days made me emotional too! My Mum and dad have both passed away now and it brought back such happy Christmas times of years ago so thank you for that! Ian the musical cat is just so adorable x
I was trying to think why I like watching you so much Paula...and apart from the fact that you are soooooo funny, it's because you are so happy about all the little things and so positive in your outlook. So refreshing! Talking of being emotional, I am 63 and my dad died 32 years ago and my mum 10 years later but I still miss them both. I am so thankful for the wonderful, happy childhood (and Christmas's especially) that they gave to me and my brother...lovely memories.x
Yes Christmas past will always bring emotional feelings. especially Christmas music in church. Makes me sob. Merry Christmas Paula. Thank you for sharing vlogmas.
Lovely memories ❤I love looking back when my Nan would make about twenty jelly and custard in individual glass bowls for all the family that would come round on Boxing Day. We were a big family. But alas they have all gone.
That was lovely Paula thank you for taking the time I loved hearing your memories made me cry too. Happy Christmas hope you have a lovely lovely Christmas eve.
Aww bless you Paula..lovely to have nice memories give us a lively warm feeling inside.. I also love Christmas Eve ❤ my most bestest day.. Have a merry Christmas 🎄 with your family xx
It's my favorite day too! I've been maudlin all day too. Thinking about Christmases past when all my relatives were still alive and all the fun we had has put a tear in my eye. I guess that's normal for today so that tomorrow we can be festive and gay! My son and his family are flying in - they are arriving at midnight tonight to spend a week with me on this the first Christmas without my husband of 57 years. Maybe that's why I've been teary. But tomorrow will be wonderful with all the people in the house and the family gathering to open presents in the evening. The fact that I am still knitting and sewing them is of little consequence to me at this moment. I'll panic later. Calendar tea towels are almost finished for each family member, themed to their likes, and I am starting the decreases on a hat for DGD's boyfriend who is also coming to spend Christmas with us. He has never met us before but he loves my DGD so he's got to be pretty good. Sad he never got to meet Grandpa Bob, but I'm sure we will fill him in on lots of stories as we remember with love. Cherish your loved ones, hug them often and tell them you love them every day. Sure they'll think you're a bit wacky but who cares? Have a wonderful Christmas! Love to all of your adorable family. Looking forward to 2025 with you. Sad that your daily vlogs will be endindg though.
You and your blogs are so absolutely delightful. It's just a joy spending time with you. Your memories of Christmases with your Dad made me tear up,too. What a wonderful man he sounds like. Merry Christmas to you and your family. ❤
I think our childhood memories are the best Paula, everything was uncomplicated and not all about money like it is today, it’s lovely to share yours too ❤
Thank you Paula for sharing that wonderful Christmas memory!! Ian was really feeling the excitement of the season or maybe it was your beautiful song. I love that idea you had about the household jobs, I'm going to give it a try.
My mom was very poor as a child, she and her cousins would make dolls from bits of fabric, beads, lace. In her later life, she would buy dolls charity shops, clean them and make them clothes.
Do the mince pies you make have meat in them or just fruit? I was looking it up. I would love to taste one. Here in America my family like pecan pie & pumpkin pie. ❤❤😊
