I think she's alluding to a 'family secret' that is not to be shared easily, but family is addressed as a gang or mafia of sorts. 'You better not break the mark' and sorts.
ROSALÍA is fire !! Please react to the latest album "El mal querer" one of the best albums I've heard in recent times. Each track on the album tells the various stages of a violent and toxic relationship. It is a masterpiece, mixing flamenco with R&B. Essential to react !! :) :)
flamenco and r&b? this is reggaeton. this song is very influenced by artists like ivy queen that have done this type of music. the production on this track is particularly special tho.
@@backhandedhandies I'm talking about the album, not this particular song. Go and listen to the album "El mal querer " which in my opinion is a great album and make a comment after. And stop spreading hate. We are here because music has brought us together.
We would love a reaction to El Mal Querer. It’s based on a 14th century novel about an abusive relationship, and it’s brilliant! But you should definitely also check out the visuals. They’re full of references to her hometown, flamenco and Gitano culture, and Spanish heritage. ❤️
Day 1 of asking Jon to react to either Goodbye & Good Riddance or Death Race For Love by Juice WRLD New album will be coming soon for juice so these would be good reactions
@@JLTwinTV She's Catalan but when she sings she usually uses an Andalusian accent because that's the accent traditionally used in flamenco songs, which are her biggest influence. She does have a song in Catalan tho.
Besides listening to El Mal Querer I think you should check her song "A palé", it's an experimental and very interesting track and the video is amazing too. And if you wanna know a bit more of her flamenco side check her video "De Plata" you will not regret it.
Great reaction. I think you just fell into the spell of Rosalía. Hahaha, you will have material for many reactions. Thank you for your work. Good luck and health
Omg I'd love to see you reacting to more Rosalía's songs. She's such a great artist. She actually studied Flamenco formally, which is a music genre from Spain. But not only that, but also the fact she's changging the game incorporating different music traits that make her music sound so unique and special. You should react to her conceptual album "El Mal Querer". Man you have to give it a try you won't regret trust me. Like if you wanna see Jon reacting to Rosalía again :)
If you do a reaction to El Mal Querer I recommend you to watch Jaime Altonazo's video analyzing the album. It's a conceptual album and it has a complex storyline based on a medieval spanish novel. It expands the auditive experience, truly. Great reaction nevertheless!

Hey Jon, would love to see your thoughts on Starz by Yung Lean. I’ve been following ur channel since the beginning and plan on becoming a patron as soon as financially possible !!
The song is about trusting family exclusively. The term "family" includes close friends as well. There is a strict code of silence that you cannot break. She compares her family to the Sicilian Mafia, there is a hierarchy and it is a tight, closed-off group. Strangers are not welcome because it's a liability. So she sings "No jodemos con personas desconoci'a" which literally means "we don't f*ck with strangers". New friends are not allowed - "Ni un amigo nuevo ni una heri'a" means "No new friends, no wounds." She makes a reference to "Capo" which is usually used to reference higher ups in the mafia. "Los capos con los capos y yo soy la mama" means "the leaders with the leaders and I am the mother." She's alluding to this family hierarchy and basically stating everyone knows their place within it. She also makes a reference to a mafia honor code "Omerta" - "Mas te vale no romper la omerta" means "You better not break la omerta." Omerta is literally a code of silence and honor. The lyrics in Spanish are easy to locate and I belive there is an English translation floating around somewhere on the internet. I hope this helps!
Rosalia explained on an interview that an artist is never alone, she is usually surrounded by her clan and that is what she talks about in the song, about trust, secrets, freedom. From what I understand, he talks about the fact that there are commands and levels and to be the guide (the mother) you have to be strict. in the video she appears as a widowed mother (Scott has passed away) and she raises her children (the clan). Although she speaks Spanish, it is difficult to understand everything because she mixes it with another Spanish language, (Catalan) in other songs Romany (gipsy language), and some expressions that are used in South America and not in Spain.
Im glad people are considering spanish as a second language, hood job, much appreciated and hey, you shouldnt be affraid to try and use this oppertunity to get closer to all people
This shit is pure heat bro... it’s getting to the point where Travis Scott can’t even come near a miss!! That man is way different from anyone in the industry and sheesh rosalia was fire too this was just a whole summer vibe in itself man!!

This song is about musicians having groups of people they trust in the industry and talks about how they are considered family and should be able to keep secrets. I recommend that you check out her song “A Palé” too!
I looooooved the song, the beat is insanely good. her music is always so so unique. you should listen to her album "El Mal Querer" she writes and produces her own stuff btw
Jon, a heads-up if you start reacting to her singles/albums: The 1st album, Los Angeles, is very acoustic/traditional/flamenco-heavy. Not bad by any means, but you're not jamming out basically. The 2nd has a couple tracks like that, but overall has more stuff to dance/nod to haha. Malamente is a good individual song/video to start with
