She travels to my house and gets the hair and everything so I don’t have to worry about anything besides being at my house on them lol. She also does washing and trimming free of charge but not everyone does that I don’t think. So it really depends on the person. Unless you go to a salon, which in that case I can image would be very different.

They just don't braid like they did when braiding first hit the States! They didn't just braid, they created! And there were no open spaces between your braids. The entire back would be crimped; they focused the designing on the sides and top!! Oooh whee! So sharp!! Chi-Chi owned the location I would frequent! The girl was bad to the bone! It took around 12-13 hours with two people braiding; but, it was worth it! The styles were absolutely stunning! And lasted for 6 months with only a touchup in the front! (Yes, you washed & conditioned your braids in the shower!) And your natural hair would be sooo long and healthy after removing them. Todays styles are okay, but, nothing compared to what we had! Nothing! Today we say, "Your hair looks nice!". Back then it was, "Oh my goodness!!! Girl, who braided your hair!!! Turn around!! How'd they do that!? Girl, that's too sharp!" Where's her shop!?" 😊
This why so many older women have traction alopecia now you NEED space between braids y’all was literally pulling y’all hair out by the roots. I’m glad they stopped that mess.
