Sevyn Streeter 🎶Taboo🎶 she remixed this classic song of Mr Alexander O’Neal 🤭; look at her video here on RUclips. Young lady did a GREAT job, though 🤷🏽♀️🥰
This was the last song my mother danced to. My father had just finished feeding her; She suffered from dementia and lost a good portion of her motor functions, but her beautiful spirit was still in tact. Her illness contributed to a very low point in my life. A void so huge, that I began giving myself to women I had no business messing with. I was working a job that wasn’t paying me the money I felt I was worth, but I kept going because I didn’t know where I was going to go or do. I had just moved back home with my father and was half sleep on the couch she had reupholstered YEARS ago when I was a kid. My father would feed her with the music on; A playlist of songs that she loved. This song came on. My father had walked away and left her at the table for a moment.. When it got to the bridge? Man, when I say this woman got up, put up one arm in the air and start waving her hand, humming and mouthing what melody and lyrics she could remember of the song? My eyes got so wide, then I remembered she always loved this song and Alexander O’Neal so much. Now whenever I hear this song I get profoundly emotional. It didn’t even hit me until months later that this would be the last time I would see her dance. I miss her everyday. Rest In Peace my dear. Love you Mom.
Such a sweet emotional memory. Songs have away of bringing you back to a feeling or a place. I would hear Wild Flower by New Birth my mom suffered from mental illness. Got a chance to see her vibrant face one last time before she died from Covid-19 about 2years ago at the young age of 62. Thanks for sharing . R. I. P to your mom that had great taste in music 🎶 Take care

When I was still a newly wed, when this song came out. My husband told me to listen to it. He called it one of many Songs for Us. When I hear it, I feel So Loved. We celebrate our 43rd year of Marriage. I still feel the Love. This journey has not always been easy. But the Respect and Honor has been there. We don't always see eye to eye, but we have lovingly been able to Compromise. We've argued about Money(the most common item that can disrupt/rattle the marriage foundation), or even how bossy/wrong I might be. But we find a way to work it out. I can't bring myself to go on a vacation, or have a Goodtime without him. He promised to be there/here for me and He has kept his promise, everyday single day of this 43. I've been so Sorry that my 3 children have not been able to find this kind of relationship/Love.

This song brings back so many memories for me. I can remember this being one of my favorite songs. I have a great memory of us in the 80s going to a house party at her best friends house. For me/us to cross back over! Anytime we want to. The backdrops. The People, Places, and things! Involved. The Essence/Space with the exact mode of details. When was the last time? Someone told you I love you? Honey child that never gets old. I will take a couple of them now! To go.🥰 Sweetie if you look anything like her. She was a beautiful woman! Shanita Berry I’m a travel nurse from ATL working in Cali. Hubby is back home & just sent me this song. Prayers to all the long distance lovers out there, missing their sweethearts 🥺❤️
Folks don’t have a clue about how great a vocalist Alexander O’Neal was back in the 80s. He represents the last era of great vocalist & yes it is 2021 and I’m still listening. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Beautiful voice yet tragic. Addiction kills careers, family, self love &, many other things. I know because I'm in recovery probably for the rest of my life . Time waits for no one, can't get back lost yrs . I'm so grateful to God & I'm sure Alexander is as well. 🙏💪🏿✌
Youlanda but what you can get is strength and you are a STRONG individual because it's all about self acknowledgement and that sets the tone for your recovery. Stay blessed and continue to love who you are as well as self worth. You got this!
when we were young, 10 years thereabout, am 45 years now, back in Zimbabwe, we used to watch tv 1 hour a day, and listen to radio most of the time. I was poor , I am poor with lyrics, but my brother, Nelson, was more handsome, and was good with singing and karaoke and obviously girls loved him more. I was the brainy one, with all the certificates. When we heard this song the first time, we didnt understand what this song was all about. Peter Johns, the radio driver, played it on a show called Monday Mellow Madness, from 7pm to 8 pm. My brother called it a midnight song, imagining playing it in a car, at night, driving under the street lights, as the lights moved back creating that on and off images. This is to my brother Nelson, 35 years later, we still close as we were before, he is back in Harare taking care of family and am out here on a Tour of Duty, see you mid october man
I’m here 2023 this is one of my favorite songs you go Alex 🎉🎉 well done sweetie I’m a fan always Thanks so much for all of your beautiful music 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love my father so much for allowing me to experience real music. Long nights at the construction site just to come home to pick me and my brother and take us riding in his thunderbird. I remember when he got sick and all he had was his music. This song stuck for me my whole life, now that I listen to these songs as an adult wow just wow.

Folks don’t have a clue about how great a vocalist Alexander O’Neal was back in the 80s. He represents the last era of great vocalist & yes it is 2021 and I’m still listening. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Totally agree. In his prime he was up there with Maxwell, Luther, Peobo Bryson, Freddie Jackson and others during 80s and 90s R&B era.
Bbaabbby him and cherelle..oooh whoo
Yeah hes a beast and different. He would have never fit/blossomed with signing with Prince
Amen to that

JESUS is LORD! HE loves you HE forgives and saves! JESUS is The Only Way To The FATHER! Give you life to HIM!❤️🙏🏽

Beautiful voice yet tragic. Addiction kills careers, family, self love &, many other things. I know because I'm in recovery probably for the rest of my life . Time waits for no one, can't get back lost yrs . I'm so grateful to God & I'm sure Alexander is as well. 🙏💪🏿✌
Perfectly said!
True.addiction takes loved ones away.
Youlanda but what you can get is strength and you are a STRONG individual because it's all about self acknowledgement and that sets the tone for your recovery. Stay blessed and continue to love who you are as well as self worth. You got this!
Just keep keeping keeping on Youlanda, you got this my SISTAH!!!💪🏿🙏🏿💜

Who's listening to this in May 2024 ❤❤
Jackie listening in 2023 my song
when we were young, 10 years thereabout, am 45 years now, back in Zimbabwe, we used to watch tv 1 hour a day, and listen to radio most of the time.
This is to my brother Nelson, 35 years later, we still close as we were before, he is back in Harare taking care of family and am out here on a Tour of Duty, see you mid october man
America here. You have my deceased brother's name, bless that story of yours. I miss my brother and this song doesn't help.
@@-ITH sorry about your brother. I hope he is somewhere watching over you. And he knows how much you love him

I love my father so much for allowing me to experience real music. Long nights at the construction site just to come home to pick me and my brother and take us riding in his thunderbird. I remember when he got sick and all he had was his music. This song stuck for me my whole life, now that I listen to these songs as an adult wow just wow.
Wonderful story. Thanks for sharing.
