As a Turkish person, I was waiting for the joke, and there it is. Jokes aside, according to my observations, younger generations, especially middle schoolers, are built differently; they go well beyond the typical body proportions for middle schoolers. I can't help but feel a bit sad for them.

As an American living in sol cal I can safely say proportions are significantly bigger in the US than in other nations. Some people who immigrated here will even share one portion between them and friends. I didn’t believe it at first, until I saw a pair of friends sharing a portion of noodles at a Borneo Indonesian restaurant

Most of the British crimes against food stem from ww2 rationing and kids growing up ending up liking it and keeping it up or family rationing recipes that got past down to poor student youths who needed food, had little money and could rely on these recipes.
The Pacific islands troubles with obesity started slightly before that, in the late 1920's and early 1930's an American food guy decided to package up animal leftovers (after the butchering process - meat and other matter that is still edible but would have been discarded) and mixed it all up into what's called SPAM, this didn't catch on the civilian market and instead got picked up by the army and disaster relief groups for emergency food (was very cheap to make and mass produce) this was then exported to war front areas like the Pacific islands and the UK (where it got adopted as a replacement for normal beef/sheep/pig meat - as that went to the soldiers) the civilians ended up liking it and the solfiers would often trade their spam for some other local stuff like smokes and fish, ect. this overabundance of cheap meat and preservatives led to a boom in people getting fat and people becoming obese and eventually got replaced by fast food compaies. The US civilians didn't get the whole spam thing during the war but post war the returning soldiers brougt it back and instead of being used as a replacement of meat it was instead used as a good tasting meaty treat to place amongst other desserts and treats, one very common one was putting it in jello, this is also where people started putting fruit in jello, like pineapple, apple, pear, ect.

The bodybuilder has water in his shaker
The powerlifter has a cola cero
The strong man has 2 x 2 Liter mezzomix in one hand and at least 2 cheeseburgers in the other.

Hey Jacques, I don't want to defend Marie Antoinette, but I learned (recently) that the whole "give them cake" wasn't from her but from a book with a fictional character probably inspired by her or something like that... and later one was attributed to her.
As for the Nuke Economic Fallout, you might ignore that in Soviet Union some pepople got a billiant idea and made an artificial lake with nukes (maybe even more than one), where water was "naturaly" warm due to radiation, and piled some nuclear waste nearby made an artificial hill on them and run some pipes through it so they can heat up water, then made a village next to this two abonmination, and made some Fallout style advertisement about their nice nautical instalation that never freeze and free hot water. People who settled there have all got some nasty cancer and all died around 40yo.

From what I recall it was a minister of farming or finace that where asked about bread becoming more and more expensive while other products remain cheapish and his response was just give people cake then, got thrown into a newspaper then a book then later on got slapped on Marie as a way to justify her execution, as they tried to portray her as overzelous bad person that didn't care for the nation, they also slapped a lot of other things to her name but the "let them eat cake" thing stuck. The only thing we know she actually said that even her executioner confirmed it in his journal, was her saying "sorry I mean you no harm sir" an apology for accidentally stepping on his foot, he wrote about her apology being stuck in his head and making him have more than a few sleepless nights.

Not going to lie,i am not keeping a healthy food pyramid up for myself but i was born and still live in Hungary and let me tell you that mainly, the only thing that is...partially healthy and can be eaten on daily, next to 10-14 hours of work is oatmeal(with honey and a minimal jam/butter) and gyros.
As a furniture-packager(basically UPS on steroids) we carry items from 2 lbs up to 300 lbs AND also we have most of our buildings that lived through both World Wars, the German domination and the Anti-Soviet Revolution
,soooo, yeah, high level of package delivery, throughout the whole day(i wake up at 5:15 AM,get to place by 6:15,pack up to the van and then, only then,we start our shift by 7:00 until we reach our final destination for the day).
I am still not as obese as such people, yet i eat fair amounts, hence i am legit a powerhouse,so calories are burning like a wildfire.
Sure,im chonky a bit,but im not 200 lbs and i am like 6'2 ft tall.

Saddest thing is healthier food is cheaper but we so lazy over here. The drive takes twice long to get fast food and have them make dinner than cooking it yourself. Then again most people don't even know how to cook simple things anymore. Another thing I've seen is wasted food, leftovers just tossed to get some fast food cuz it's hot. Finally cooked something and it might not be healthy but taste good yet they only eat it the day of and will leave it till it's moldy eating anything else cuz it's different than what they had yesterday. . .

The cereal being health food when it's just corn flakes or puffed rice don't seem all that bad. . . but it can taste even better if ya drown it in sugar and add marshmallows or make it chocolate instead! I wonder how healthy raisin brand is compared covering oatmeal in cinnamon and sugar? Steak and eggs for breakfast sometimes, or pork chop and mexican style. Barbacoa and Big Red is a great weekend breakfast combo that I sometimes eat. Salsa verde, avocado, salt on barbacoa on a corn tortilla then that red cream soda flavor to wash it down.
