- A historic Russian Orthodox cathedral caught fire Tuesday. Parishioners and priests tried to salvage what they could, but the sanctuary was severely damaged.
I know we would be devastated if anything like this happened to our little church in Salem. 😢
But never forget that Christ has risen!
Hristos Voskrese!
Truly He is Risen!! ☦🙏
Voistinu voskrese!
Glory to God for all things!
Gosh bless this resourceful church in Christ as it’s self evident that they are blessed and will grow again double the size in God we pray.
🙏 Christ is risen
Christ is risen!!
Sorry to hear about this
Xristos Voskrese
Thank you for posting this in its entirety. By the way, it's not a "Russian Orthodox" church. It's OCA (Orthodox Church in America). OCA is a descendent of the Russian Orthodox Church, but it not under any kind Russian authority, and totally based in America. I have to say this because of the Russia haters out there. (Look what Ukraine is doing to the priests, monks, and laity of the UOC in Ukraine. )
Christ is Risen! I totally understand where you are coming from! However, when it was founded and built it was a Russian Orthodox Cathedral as it was built by Russian immigrants and under Russian Orthodox jurisdiction (then the Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church of North America) at the time. Glory to God that it still runs years later as an OCA church but for founding and origination purposes- it is a Russian Orthodox Church. The OCA did not become autocephalous from the Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church of North America till about the 1970s if I recall correctly. There’s a rock plaque on the outside of St. Theodosius that labels itself as ‘Russian Orthodox; Greek Catholic’. Fascinating history! But still, I understand where you’re coming from. Have a blessed day!
@@jazminlee4938 Truly He is risen! Yes, I am aware of what you say. Thank you!
