Nice review. I bought the updated Teal Swordfish. Love everything about this watch. Also, shipping cost was included (to the US). That saves $30+. Great value for money.
Mine arrived a couple of days ago and I'm loving it. The compact size is convenient and comfortable. The build quality is amazing and the colour pops without being in your face. Very happy with it.
I love Zelos watches! I've owned a couple now and the quality is second to none in the microbrand watch world. Their lume is Chefs kiss! I will be happy to add more to my collection again in the future. Great video as always!
Just picked up the white dial. My first Zelos. I’ve been looking at them for years but I didn’t see anything that called out to me. I saw that field watch and picked one up! Super excited. Also, I wish they would show the watch roll on the site, why a great add on!
I'm also a huge Zelos fan. They make up about 90% of my collection. I have the bronze meteorite on order and am very excited for it! If you are on the fence, you cannot go wrong with getting your feet wet with a Swordfish. Great video!!
Enjoyed your review. I'm a nearly obsessive Zelos fan with a bunch of their watches. I have more than one of this model incoming including this very nebula. They're just enjoyable watches to wear at a very fair price
It's not your typical field watch due to the funky colors, but I guess since it executes on the main hallmarks of a field watch, then one could categorise it as such. That being printed numerals with high legibility, clear minute track, high contrast, lume. I like creativity and fun that Zelos bring to the table. I think they would appeal to a young audience, which is good for the industry.
Nice. Both of those Zelos's are nice. I have had 3 Zelos watches. A 40 and a 42 Swordfish and a 41 Blacktip. I only have the blacktip left in my collection. Love Zelos! Cheers!!!
Man, Jody’s Origin, now this (it would be my 2nd Zelos) ….great time to collect affordable watches. Seems like the specs just keep getting higher. Great review Chris. Thanks
I like Jody's channel but that Origin just seems like a formula for a 'safe' crowd pleaser and hence too generic-dive to have much /any personality (these Zelos have plenty). Though I do appreciate they give several colour options on the Origin and also that they sourced the best manufacturer based on prototypes.
Thank you for this review. I was considering getting this in the orange but I’ve been hesitant to get anything under 40mm because of my 7.5in wrist but seeing it on yours it looks good! So I may pull the trigger now.
Realmente hermoso y se adhiere a la muñeca como parte de ella en un tamaño adorable con un extensible super y ese lumen guau wow. Salú2 desde Puebla México.
I really dislike the dial, particulary because of the railroad minutetrack (too many colors and overabundance of elements), the numerals arent for me and the hands aren't bad but just a bit dull. That being said, I love everyting else. The design is superb. I'll wait for a simplified design, specially if they release an aventurine dial. It's totally subjective, still a great release
Nice watch, but you're also getting a low end movement, so saying this is the best affordable field watch ever may be a slight exaggeration, especially at this price point...
@@Angry_GnomeYou could probably pick up a discounted Glycine for around that price, but I wasn't talking about Swiss watches necessarily. Plenty of Chinese examples for much less money with the same movement. My sub $100 Captain Willard meets or beats all the specs of this watch.
Paying to have a movement serviced costs about £200. So buying a £300 watch and then spending £200 to service it makes little sense. By contrast, the NH38A costs about £35, so swapping that out on a £300 watch does make sense - you could even do it yourself without having to pay someone. And the NH38A is pretty reliable, so you aren't going to have to do it any time soon. You're not paying for the movement here - you're paying for the original design, case and finishing.
@@jontpt Not really. I'm just saying that a watch with a cheap reliable easy to source movement is no bad thing because It can be easily and cheaply replaced. I actually did buy this very watch and actually do have a spare NH38A movement in a drawer because I have been building my own watch and bought some surplus parts. So if and when this watch becomes unreliable I can just swap out the movement myself. For me the fact that this watch has a cheap reliable easy to find familiar movement is a good thing. To make a watch financially worth servicing the movement would have to cost more than a service. For that to be the case then I guess I would have to spend at least £600, which is out of my personal reach, so I'm happy to buy watches with cheap replaceable NH movements as an alternative. I think they are good enough for the money. I accept that other people have different expectations and priorities but I personally don't think this is a bad watch with a bad movement just because other more expensive watches have better movements. If I spent £1000 on a single watch and wore it all the time and it was my only watch then I would want it to be accurate and super durable so that I don't have to keep checking and setting it and will rarely have to pay to service it. But if I spend that same amount on 3 watches then that's not really a consideration because I will be rotating through them and will have to set and initially wind them when I swap over any way. Also each watch will get less wear, so the NH38A is adequate in that scenario. But you do you and I'll do me.
I disagree, it has the specs of a field watch, and the dial is just beautiful but obviously not for everyone. I bought it today because of the specs, incl. the size, and I chose this colour precisely because it's so unusual and incongruous as a field watch. Tastes vary...
I don't like the traditional field watch style like the Hamilton or Marathon, but this and the Formex field look sooooo good

Awesome watch and review! Love the quality and the watch roll as packaging.

You can’t go wrong with a Zelos and an affordable one at that. Thanks!

I have a SF 40 Mete, and SF MOP field ordered and can’t wait to get that shipping email
I bought this version and waiting for it to arrive. Looks so much better on video. Can’t wait! Great review Chris ❤
How much did you get this for?

Thanks for the great review Chris….I just bought this watch. I wanted a loud field watch LOL 👍
Me too. That fume effect and the texture got me. I've got some plain watches but I also like colourful dials. It's nice to have options.
👍👍👍 Nice Watch and 38mm the best size of Watch - 👍 Review by WatchChris 👍

So did you pull the trigger?
Hello!!nice review if the chapter ring was a bit thicker an de minute hand bit shorter i will buy it for sure!!!
Nice watch and good video.
Zelos changed my view on watches. I seldom consider a watch beyond the usual Zelos price because they're so good.
On the website it says 399USD now , was 299 some thing like a launch price?
also wondering about this...
B-E-A-Utiful!

Previous swordfish had sharp edges/hot spots on the bracelet, how is it on this one ?
Wish there was a swiss mvmt in there and a see trough back case

Chris, is the handset black or silver? Seems to change, not sure what they are😂? Thanks 👍
It’s very nice but I’d rather have a Miyota 9000 series movement for the price.
Idk how Zelos does it. I have an Aurora and it runs at +1 a day on my time graph. Gorgeous watch and an amazing brand.
SOLID
So with that band feature, you won't need to remove links to fit the wrist? Or is that only for very small adjustments?
Small adjustments after you have removed links Thanks for watching !
Yo lo mande a comprar pero lo veo pequeño para mi
Wish they had a blue one
They do. The mosaic MOP
U gotta grab it when it first drops or else you now pay 399. That’s not a good value
Nice watch, but you're also getting a low end movement, so saying this is the best affordable field watch ever may be a slight exaggeration, especially at this price point...
Where are you getting a Swiss movement at $299? Nothing wrong with NH movements. They’re reliable and can be regulated to be fairly accurate.

So by your logic any watch with a decent movement is illogical. Thanks for the clarification, haha

This should have been a 40mm
Definitely not the best affordable field watch. The specs are nice, but the dial is downright gaudy. Way too flamboyant for a field watch.
Well, I agree this specific one may not be the best example because of the dial color. However, they do make a tamer dial color...
