    Awesome video!! Just watched this and your previous one about making the kiln, just wondering how long you need to fire up the kiln and does it use much propane?

      The fire time depends on weather and your torch, when its hot out I've been able to hit 1800f in about 30-45 minutes but if it's cold/windy it can take 1.5hr.
      I usually can get several firings out of one tank of propane. I use the tank for the grill too so not sure of an accurate count, but 4 firings and a couple rounds of burgers at least 😅

    Hello :) One question please, all thoses pieces were firing with normal kiln before putting the glaze en begin the raku opérations ? Thanks :)

    • @BrevaCreative
      @BrevaCreative Год назад +1

      They were actually fired in this kiln before but a regular kiln would work too - you do need to fire before glazing for sure though, whatever you end up using

      @@BrevaCreative So, if iI good understand You fire the first time, without glae in the same kiln ? and you w ait that thoses pieces are cold or no ? tnanks

      @@Arche-oo7sq yes, fire the bare clay, then cool, apply glaze, once glaze is dry fire agin and while hot place into the buckets of sawdust or paper.

    The firing didnt reached the desired temp and the glazes didnt matured.
    The 2 colored ones that you say were successful, need to be applyed very thin. The others,more shiny ones, need to be applied thick.
    And also i reccomend you to use a gas mask with a hose and a filter that you keep on your back.
    And do not wash the pots with water immediatly because if you dont like the colors, you can refire again and again unless they are wet and you have to wait for them to dry a long time.

      Will have to try the thinner application
