This is how I imagine it. It’s kinda long, but I put my two brain cells to work on this, and I hope any readers will like it :) ~ a boy is laying in bed, with his grandmother sitting in a chair across from the bed ~ “Grandmother, I can’t sleep!” “Well then, would you like to hear a story? Maybe it will help you sleep.” “Please do, grandmother.” “Alright then.” ~ she moves from the chair to sit on the side of bed ~ “So, my grandchild, do you see that pretty blue dot in the sky?” ~ She points through the small-ish skylight, and speaks with a calming and gentle voice ~ ~ the boy gazes up at the dot through the skylight ~ “Yes, I see it grandmother.” “It’s actually called Earth. Your great great great great great _great_ grandfather was born there. He was one of the few that first set foot on our red soil.” “Is that so, grandmother?” he says, flabbergasted. “Yes, darling, it sure is.” “Wow.” “If you think that’s cool, let me tell you what Earth is really like.” she says with a wide smile. “Oh, ok!” ~ he moves a little bit closer to his grandmother ~ “Earth was, and still is, home to _billions_ of people, and Earth is blue because most of it is water, about 75 percent of it, darling. Now, you know how we are called Martians?” “Of course!” “Well, the people there, are called Humans.” ~ the boy scrunches his nose a little ~ “That’s a funny word.” “I thought the same when I first heard it, dear. But that is what they are called. They kinda look funny too. They’re a lot thinner than we are, and they don’t have as much muscle as we do.” “Why so, grandmother?” “Well, we actually used to look like them, because we are them. Just different versions. And that’s because, over time, our bodies have changed to better suit this place. Quite a thing, ain’t it?” “Yes, it is! And what does ‘ain’t’ mean?” ~ the grandmother smiles with disbelief, thinking to herself about how the youth are always changing ~ “Oh, child, ‘ain’t’ is just an old word.” ~ the boy rubs his eyes and yawns widely ~ “Would you like to hear a song taught to me by my father? It’s a traditional Earth lullaby.” “That would be nice, grandmother.” “Ok, dear.“ ~ she begins singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, with her calm and sweet voice, and the boy drifts off to sleep ~ Tell me if you liked it or not :)
@@mallieange1 Nice story, I like it. :) However you should think through one part again. Mars has lower gravitation than earth, therefore humans on Mars would not need more muscles. So they would develop to be less muscular than earth-humans and not vice versa. And they would probably be somewhat taller, because their intervertebral discs would be less compressed by gravitational force.
@@mallieange1 I like your story, mate! It's very heartwarming and it will be interesting to think about how Earthian humans and Martian humans will communicate. I actually wrote a bit theory on how space colonization will affect politics. I will be glad to learn what you think of it. At the time when this article is written down, the sense of county boundary and nationality has become more and more ambiguous and less exclusive as globalization goes. All countries will be absorbed by the United Nations. Then, a country to the UN is like a city to a country. Space colonization will further intensify the centralization of the UN. Here is how. In the beginning, the four major powers, EU, USA, China and Russia, will send people to colonize a rocky planet, let’s say Mars in this case. The first wave of “colonizers” from different countries are going to go through competitions or corporations. These people still identify themselves with their motherlands on the Earth. However, since the new generations of these people will live on Mars and never or seldom visit Earth, they identify themselves with the whole planet rather than a country on Earth; they think of themselves as the residents of Mars, Martians, instead of colonizers from the Earth. They may even further establish their own “United Nations”, compared to the United Nations on Earth. However, their governments will not think so and be happy with that; the governments think those people as their citizens and Mars is an extension of territories. As time passes, this conflict between the governments on Earth and Martians will become greater. The issues can develop into the conquest of the other from merely the independence of Mars. Eventually, negotiation and war cannot be avoided. During this process, the nations on Earth will become more united to fight against Martians, causing the centralization of the UN, a higher-level governmental entity than a country. This is a deal between Earthians and Martians, not the citizens of countries anymore. In fact, at that time, there will be no wars among countries but only planets. For now, the highest level of an entity is a country, but then, it will be a planet; or even a galaxy in the farther future. And here's my insight. A strong stimulus must be involved in the formation of a higher political entity. A common enemy always effective⸺All different entities at the same level are forced to join together to resist. For example, the states of America were not as united as today until some important wars, such as World War I. The sense of higher political entity, The United States of America, had not grown in people’s minds, so states might turn against one another for territory. This assumption can also apply to the case above but in a bigger scope. Idealistically, the highest level political entity shall be the one formed by all humans⸺there are no enemies but only partners. All human species shall work together to improve humanity and approach happiness.
The illuminati Globalists know how to take care of the Earth : Reduction of human population to around 500 Millions, Agenda 21. How's with the rest of 6.5 billions people? Simple : send them to Mars. That is why elon musk's heavy falcon project got hugh financial support from those private bankers
We need a self sustaining independent colony human colony outside earth just for secure reasons. Like a backup. But why bother with far away planets like mars that are barely able to support life if we got out Moon directly in front of our nose? We should much more focus our recourses on enlarging the space station or building a really big rotating wheel space station/ship, that can provide earth like gravity.
+mistery trout I appreciate your words. . . .however Ive traveled every continent and lived in several countries and have experienced quite a bit. . . . .and yes. . . .this would be a bonus!
+urgentlyDuck I think Mars is what will work because space projects depend on people on Earth being excited and therefore supporting the idea, and until we land a human on Mars, people will not be excited enough to fund building that wheel station. Plus you know the ISS has an expiry date. Probably closing around 2025.

Let the earth poles melt, and adopt life to the new situation. What you guys think, that marsians will have to do so different, when terra forming and creating a global warming? If we believe, that it works on mars, why not on earth?
Global Warming is a hoax. Look at satellite images. They look exactly the same as the Sputnik 1’s images of Earth when it was launched into low earth orbit in 1957.
if interested in an alternative view based on real science, (as in "obserbvation first") as to what happened to mars , causing half the planet being strewn with rocks and other weird lanscape features that have puzzled NASA for decades, watch this: ruclips.net/video/TM3WvEeDpAc/видео.html it is a ten minute summary / update of a two hour documentary that blew my mind.
@I'm Just Saying Yeah, so many people really underestimate solar and cosmic background radiation. I bet we're not going anywhere in space before we haven't developed a useful shield device. For the time being we should feel lucky to have this safe haven in space we call our home and take good care of it.
You only need oxygen, water+fuel to live. Then comes shelter. Definitely dont require clothing but since we lost our fur we need to survive certain temps.

Men like him will push mankind those big leaps forward, instead of all the rest of us who either take us back, or only push on forwards a few tiny steps. I don't get this weird opposition to government funding of research that might not pay off in the short term, and therefore is of little value to private interests, but might improve humanity incredibly in the long term.
I was buying into this until the end when he talks about having to change the climate. I believe people will eventually live on Mars but we're talking like 1,000+ yrs...not 100

Ahhhh... But you forgot one thing, the magnetic field. Mars does not have a magnetic field which means that radiation and solar winds will hit mars. These will cause mars to loose its atmosphere again.
actually there is a solution for that. I think. A youtuber named Isaac Arthur think we could strategically place a bunch of magnetic satellites to act as one big magnetic shield. I am not an expert, but I think I got the jist of it.
Cringe, you did not learn anything, these are just basic facts that most of us know since it’s out here on RUclips. If you actually want to learn more about Astronomy and such, go to school and get a science degree.
The body suit won't be blocking ANY oxygen and we would be putting the bacteria we are breathing out right back on our faces or breathing it back in... which cause bacteria lung infections. @And then they said ...OK, let's take a look at what you just said: 1) "We only got 10 years to live anyway according to AOC" *AOC never said this, perhaps Fox commentators made that up* 2) "we were supposed to all die in 2012" *AOC never said this either, nor did anyone else. Except maybe the Jehova's Witnesses* 3) "Only possible way to survive is for rich countries to pump money in(to) poor countries" *Just false in so many ways. Even when climate change completely derails weather patterns and BILLIONS of people die, the richest .01% of the world will survive just fine in gated communities, maybe inside domes, even when the rest of us don't. They are currently working on consolidating as much money, resources and power as possible right now, and have been doing this for the past 20 years - they have known about climate change for a long time, they pay experts to do the research. This is why the rich are getting richer, and the poor, poorer.* 4) "...Unconvinced truth NYC isn't under water its almost 2020" *Sounds like Fox "News" again. Climate change scientists never predicted NYC would be under water by 2020. The worst case scenario I've seen from the latest scientific forecasts is a 6ft rise of the seas by the year 2100, still 80 years away. Best case scenario, might be only 3ft rise by then. NYC at its highest point is 33ft, so that still doesn't mean it will be completely under water. It will just be an awful mess, and more than 100,000 people will have to move.* Long story short, we need to come together if we are going to make sure the rest of us are going to survive the next 200 years. The worst that happens is we are over prepared - much better than being dead.
One crucial thing that isn't mentioned - Mars has a very minuscule magnetic field, which is one reason why the atmosphere is so thin. The sun bakes it away. Even if we create a thicker atmosphere, it will bleed the atmosphere away.
Do you think that the brilliant minds and this man don't realize this? They do and they're still pursuing to go to Mars because they have a solution. They're making Mars their prime candidate for a reason.
This is exactly what I was thinking too. I don't think they approached this issue, however, I'm pretty sure they will be working on a solution. When they find it, surely they will share it with us all!
Good point! I'm thinking we'll have to further develop nuclear power to generate an artificial magnetic field around the planet. Development of nuclear power on Mars will have profound effects here on Earth as well, I believe.
Unfortunately, he forgot to mention what are the plans for creating an artificial magnetosphere on Mars. That's very important if you want to keep your atmosphere instead of losing it to space thanks to solar wind.
Given the extra distance of Mars obrit the required strength of any protective magentosphere would be greatly reduced, and localised shielding can be performed many ways - he did mention living underground and that is one of the simplest of the solutions. More of an issue that is usually missed is the lower gravity. The human body is not suited to life at less than 1g and prolonged exposure to low g can be an issue. There are some simple solutions to deal with the issues (using exercise etc,), but for me the best is just to design living and working quarters that rotate (the scale and rotation rate would not need to match that of a typical space station due to the reduced g that is already present).
louis asuncion the earth is ok. It’s all a scam. Billionaires trillion-airs they move threw space. Cali to Japan in 30 minutes. That’s what they see. It’s all a scam🌎💪🏽🤦♀️🤦♀️
This video really makes me appreciate Earth. I've always adored our big, blue, beautiful plant, but this makes me realize how much it actually means to me. I think if a colony was being populated on Mars in my lifetime, I'd stay right here, where I am, because there's something about Earth just connects you to it, and I don't think I'd feel that on another planet.
Well there is always the possibility that people raised on mars will not care about earth. If there are other places to explore , more importantly live in, why would anyone bother preserving a specific one. Why try saving a wrecked house when you can built a new one?
Dude that's obvious, every human ever to live was born here, going to Mars is done out of a sense of curiosity and exploration, people looking for a new life, like an immigrant leaving his home country, looking for a new way of life
+ElectricMinecraft We are used to be on earth. New generations will be able to accept mars easily. Actually think about this:In a few generations there will be people born on mars talking about the same connection they feel for the planet.

when you see trillions and quintillions of planets and stars our there in our galaxy only, I bet that you will think differently. Earth is beautiful, sure it does, it's our mother, our homeland, but there's still a lot of things to discover among the stars.
None in our solar system, and so far not a lot of promising ones in others we've investigated recently. But give it time; we've only just started. Think of the land masses on Earth, some more beautiful than others. Some interesting to visit, but would you want to live there, like Antarctica for example.
Heather Egnatz But you probably would spend most of your time in a hub. It would be completely ridiculous if you were to spend all that time in a space suit. Lol imagine that, I agree, that would suuuuck! 😂😂😂

BillyTheSmudger How the earth is right now, I don’t think we can survive next 500 years on this planet. Global warming, Ice is melting in a rapid speed. Humans Are Speeding Extinction and Altering the Natural World at an ‘Unprecedented’ Pace. We are overloading our climate with Co2 because of all those factories 🏭 and stuff. I Don’t think people even care because they gonna die in 100 years and leave this Planet to die 😭.
Manroop what you mean is..we need to save our HABITAT. Oh, the earth itself will be fine with or without us. Whether or not we suffer from temperature extremes, the earth has been through Ice ages and volcanic craziness. We technically aren’t capable of “saving the earth” lol. To suggest we could do such a thing is preposterous. You mean “we need to save our environment. Our habitat. the living conditions that sustain human life. Just wanted to correct you there!
Watching this 5 years after it was posted. He did not mention the lack of a magnetic field to protech Mars' atmosphere once it's created. That's a big challenge.
Hey kids would you like to live in Antarctica? Kids "no, its too cold, and theres no internet" Hey kids would you like to live on Mars? Kids "Yeah sounds great"
Ask differently: Kids, how would you like to move to the toolshed behind our house? - Meh. Kids, how would you like going to an adventure and sleeping in tent? - Cool! Mars' allure has always been the distance from Earth and the opportunity it provides to start something new, unburdened by Earthly ways of doing things. Nobody has every claimed that Mars is more habitable than Antarctica.
That’s cool and all but if you can re engineer a whole other planet then you can engineer laws and technology for a better and more sustainable life on Earth
difference is that the ppl who are working on mars are one of the most brightest humans we got, while here, those ppl are pushed away by greedier, stupider ppl. Its why well never see a scientist as president
@@radar0412 That's what I was gonna say haha. "If we have the technology to turn another planet into Earth, then we can turn Earth back into Earth" He's not saying we shouldn't go to Mars, he is saying that developing this tech for Mars will help us look after our own planet too.
Sage Oldmann Mars is a “just in case” I’m Cade earth gets fucked up think about it right now if an unstoppable asteroid was headed to earth we are doomed but if we are able to send humans to mars they can keep the human race From going extinct
In order to live on Mars : It's challenging to get there : It cost a enormous fortune : You cannot come out in the open : We can only wear spacesuits : There's no oxygen to breathe But still we must go there.😅😅😅 It reminds me of my childhood.
The problem with Mars is that its core is dead. On earth, our core is active and because of all the churning metals at incredibly high temperatures, it generates a magnetic field around the Earth. That magnetic field protects Earth's atmosphere from being blown away by solar flares. If we generated an atmosphere on Mars, it will easily be blown away by solar flares (which are common) because there is no magnetic field protecting it. Building and maintaining an atmosphere on Mars without an active core would be as futile as building and maintaining a snowman in the Nevada desert without a cooling mechanism that will preserve the snow. Eventually the atmosphere is going to dissipate and be lost into outer space just like the snowman will melt and evaporate away.
I think you meant to say "solar winds" which will erode the atmosphere, regardless of flares. As far as I know, flares have nothing to do with anything.
Danielle Spargo Solar flares have a lot to do with exactly what I've illustrated. They're large bursts of electromagnetic radiation from the sun. They are more likely to cause damage to Earth's atmosphere. Solar winds are a continuous emission of charged particles from the sun, much less damaging but not insignificant. Interesting fact, the winds are what cause the Aurora Borealis.
Let's Do Some Research! What if we could jump start the core, we can probably drill much deeper into mars because gravity is so much lower and the radius is so much smaller. We could use nuclear waste, fission, solar powered batteries.
Ben Cradick I wouldn't rule that out as being impossible, but I highly doubt we could ever reach the core of Mars ever. We've barely even scratched the surface on Earth, and somehow we have to transport the tools and the energy all the way to another planet and somehow hope we can reach the core? I would need to see a lot more evidence that drilling to any planetary core is possible for me to believe such a thing. The other thing is jumpstarting a core is one problem, but then how do you maintain a jumpstarted dead core? That is another monumental problem that seems incredibly difficult to accomplish.
Imagine being a part of something much bigger than yourself. Leaving for mars on a one way ticket. Working there everyday until you die. Your life would be millions of more times important than your life here on earth even if you don't feel it, you would be a pioneer a person who is doing something not just for you but for the future of the human race
dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb. It would take more than all of the Earth's economic power to make a sustainable colony on Mars. By the way there is no soil, no magnetic field and the solar power is not as strong on Mars. This guy is trying to sell you shamwows.
Not Dumb very difficult just long term thinking to attempt to avoid the extintion of our species and evolve. If everyone just went oh that is impossible we would never of developed a fraction of the tech available today. Imagine if you could tell someone living a few centuries ago one day Humans will be capable of flying faster than the speed of sound and launch rockets into space the majority of people you told would of laughed at the statement and discredited it as Dumb thinking.
Ismail ibrahim abdullah why would you colonize the moon? There is nothing favorable on the moon itself that would further enhance trivial needs such as fuel, food and water. Think about this my friend and it’ll make sense why colonizing mars is the better, more reasonable option.
@bluebloodbc you... do realise that you need to effectively scout something like this before sending people right? If NASA had not been studying and sampling ,ad for decades thus far space x would have to do it themselves before doing anything else. Thanks to NASA they get to skip a step.
@bluebloodbc the Apollo missions were to the moon, an inert Rocky body within earth orbit. Mars is a planet, with its own moons, an atmosphere and we are still learning things about it. Only in the last half decade did we learn that the soil contains a toxic form of sodium for example. Comparing mars to the moon in this context is just stupid frankly.
The, "We must save Earth before focusing on space exploration," argument has never been a very logical one. Ever heard of not putting all your eggs in one basket? With a population of more than 7 billion I think it's safe to say that we can dedicate time and energy to both missions and do them both well.
I.C. Flatwater. Because it will one day be reality... it’s the future of our kind, the next step? expansion of the human race? what “reality” are you living in? you sound like you believe the earth is flat

Humanity: *our beloved planet is dying because of our own mistakes and it's not too late to fix it if we start now!* Also humanity: *lol let's just move to Mars*
Planting trees could never save us. The solution is more than just increasing the number of plants, we also need to decrease our emissions and cut down on industrialization.

“So, my grandchild, do you see that pretty blue dot in the sky?”
~ She points through the small-ish skylight, and speaks with a calming and gentle voice ~
~ the boy gazes up at the dot through the skylight ~
“Yes, I see it grandmother.”
“It’s actually called Earth. Your great great great great great _great_ grandfather was born there. He was one of the few that first set foot on our red soil.”
“Is that so, grandmother?” he says, flabbergasted.
“Yes, darling, it sure is.”
“Wow.”
“If you think that’s cool, let me tell you what Earth is really like.” she says with a wide smile.
“Oh, ok!”
~ he moves a little bit closer to his grandmother ~
“Earth was, and still is, home to _billions_ of people, and Earth is blue because most of it is water, about 75 percent of it, darling. Now, you know how we are called Martians?”
“Of course!”
“Well, the people there, are called Humans.”
~ the boy scrunches his nose a little ~
“That’s a funny word.”
“I thought the same when I first heard it, dear. But that is what they are called. They kinda look funny too. They’re a lot thinner than we are, and they don’t have as much muscle as we do.”
“Why so, grandmother?”
“Well, we actually used to look like them, because we are them. Just different versions. And that’s because, over time, our bodies have changed to better suit this place. Quite a thing, ain’t it?”
“Yes, it is! And what does ‘ain’t’ mean?”
~ the grandmother smiles with disbelief, thinking to herself about how the youth are always changing ~
“Oh, child, ‘ain’t’ is just an old word.”
~ the boy rubs his eyes and yawns widely ~
“Would you like to hear a song taught to me by my father? It’s a traditional Earth lullaby.”
“That would be nice, grandmother.”
“Ok, dear.“
~ she begins singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, with her calm and sweet voice, and the boy drifts off to sleep ~

hennex at “do you want to hear a song” I immediately knew it would be or should be twinkle twinkle little star! This was so cute thanks for sharing
@@mallieange1 Nice story, I like it. :)
However you should think through one part again.

This is why the rich are getting richer, and the poor, poorer.*
4) "...Unconvinced truth NYC isn't under water its almost 2020" *Sounds like Fox "News" again. It will just be an awful mess, and more than 100,000 people will have to move.*
Long story short, we need to come together if we are going to make sure the rest of us are going to survive the next 200 years.

Did that exist in 2016? Maybe the video was filmed before that existed but I dunno just wondering
He read Red Rising and developed his Ted Talk.
There's wind on mars????🤔
Mars is a planet so it does have gravity and gravity keeps atmosphere sticked to it or am I wrong ?

Simply due to the practically infinite planets Earth is actually probably kind of ugly compared to some.
None in our solar system, and so far not a lot of promising ones in others we've investigated recently. But give it time; we've only just started. Think of the land masses on Earth, some more beautiful than others. Some interesting to visit, but would you want to live there, like Antarctica for example.
This made me cry idk why. The thought of colonizing Mars is so inspiring
Im sooo scared!! I don't want to go! It doesn't sound pleasant at all!! I mean can you imagine wearing space suits all the time?

Yes.
We need to save our earth 🌍, Thats all i’m gonna say.
"We need to save our earth 🌍" in 1 billion years, can we still save it?
BillyTheSmudger How the earth is right now, I don’t think we can survive next 500 years on this planet. Global warming, Ice is melting in a rapid speed. Humans Are Speeding Extinction and Altering the Natural World at an ‘Unprecedented’ Pace. We are overloading our climate with Co2 because of all those factories 🏭 and stuff. I Don’t think people even care because they gonna die in 100 years and leave this Planet to die 😭.
We need to but we can't. People are too naive and don't care so this would be the only solution.

Exactly true. These NASA scumbags thinks we're stupid to go to a dead planet.
That’s cool and all but if you can re engineer a whole other planet then you can engineer laws and technology for a better and more sustainable life on Earth

If we could create the atmosphere xD
I am really hoping this mission is a success.

dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.

Don't forget to send me pictures of your rocks collection from your galactic travels. @Testudo Graeca
This sure is inspiring but let's focus on saving The Earth first.
@bluebloodbc Yep :(
That isn't exactly nasa's job. We can do more than one thing at once.

Please go to Dr. Tom Bearden website and inform yourself on weather modification through tesla technology, using scalar electromagnetic technology to be able to bring about unprecedented floods, snow storms, draught, and whatever else they wish. Blocking (dimming) the sun as per Bill Gates and Dr. David Keith at Harward. These are real psychopaths at work. Go to neverlosetruth and look at all the flooding that is occurrring through science' weather manipulation/modification.
