This is how I imagine it. It’s kinda long, but I put my two brain cells to work on this, and I hope any readers will like it :)
~ a boy is laying in bed, with his grandmother sitting in a chair across from the bed ~
      “Grandmother, I can’t sleep!”
“Well then, would you like to hear a story? Maybe it will help you sleep.”
      “Please do, grandmother.”
      “Alright then.”
~ she moves from the chair to sit on the side of bed ~
“So, my grandchild, do you see that pretty blue dot in the sky?”
~ She points through the small-ish skylight, and speaks with a calming and gentle voice ~
~ the boy gazes up at the dot through the skylight ~
      “Yes, I see it grandmother.”
“It’s actually called Earth. Your great great great great great _great_ grandfather was born there. He was one of the few that first set foot on our red soil.”
“Is that so, grandmother?” he says, flabbergasted.
      “Yes, darling, it sure is.”
      “Wow.”
“If you think that’s cool, let me tell you what Earth is really like.” she says with a wide smile.
      “Oh, ok!”
~ he moves a little bit closer to his grandmother ~
“Earth was, and still is, home to _billions_ of people, and Earth is blue because most of it is water, about 75 percent of it, darling. Now, you know how we are called Martians?”
      “Of course!”
“Well, the people there, are called Humans.”
~ the boy scrunches his nose a little ~
      “That’s a funny word.”
“I thought the same when I first heard it, dear. But that is what they are called. They kinda look funny too. They’re a lot thinner than we are, and they don’t have as much muscle as we do.”
      “Why so, grandmother?”
“Well, we actually used to look like them, because we are them. Just different versions. And that’s because, over time, our bodies have changed to better suit this place. Quite a thing, ain’t it?”
“Yes, it is! And what does ‘ain’t’ mean?”
~ the grandmother smiles with disbelief, thinking to herself about how the youth are always changing ~
“Oh, child, ‘ain’t’ is just an old word.”
~ the boy rubs his eyes and yawns widely ~
“Would you like to hear a song taught to me by my father? It’s a traditional Earth lullaby.”
      “That would be nice, grandmother.”
      “Ok, dear.“
~ she begins singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, with her calm and sweet voice, and the boy drifts off to sleep ~
Tell me if you liked it or not :)

      @@mallieange1 Nice story, I like it. :)
However you should think through one part again. Mars has lower gravitation than earth, therefore humans on Mars would not need more muscles. So they would develop to be less muscular than earth-humans and not vice versa. And they would probably be somewhat taller, because their intervertebral discs would be less compressed by gravitational force.

    • @julianzhuang9552

@@mallieange1 I like your story, mate! It's very heartwarming and it will be interesting to think about how Earthian humans and Martian humans will communicate. I actually wrote a bit theory on how space colonization will affect politics. I will be glad to learn what you think of it.
At the time when this article is written down, the sense of county boundary and nationality has become more and more ambiguous and less exclusive as globalization goes. All countries will be absorbed by the United Nations. Then, a country to the UN is like a city to a country. Space colonization will further intensify the centralization of the UN. Here is how.
In the beginning, the four major powers, EU, USA, China and Russia, will send people to colonize a rocky planet, let’s say Mars in this case. The first wave of “colonizers” from different countries are going to go through competitions or corporations. These people still identify themselves with their motherlands on the Earth. However, since the new generations of these people will live on Mars and never or seldom visit Earth, they identify themselves with the whole planet rather than a country on Earth; they think of themselves as the residents of Mars, Martians, instead of colonizers from the Earth. They may even further establish their own “United Nations”, compared to the United Nations on Earth. However, their governments will not think so and be happy with that; the governments think those people as their citizens and Mars is an extension of territories.
As time passes, this conflict between the governments on Earth and Martians will become greater. The issues can develop into the conquest of the other from merely the independence of Mars. Eventually, negotiation and war cannot be avoided. During this process, the nations on Earth will become more united to fight against Martians, causing the centralization of the UN, a higher-level governmental entity than a country. This is a deal between Earthians and Martians, not the citizens of countries anymore.
In fact, at that time, there will be no wars among countries but only planets.
For now, the highest level of an entity is a country, but then, it will be a planet; or even a galaxy in the farther future.
And here's my insight. A strong stimulus must be involved in the formation of a higher political entity. A common enemy always effective⸺All different entities at the same level are forced to join together to resist. For example, the states of America were not as united as today until some important wars, such as World War I. The sense of higher political entity, The United States of America, had not grown in people’s minds, so states might turn against one another for territory. This assumption can also apply to the case above but in a bigger scope.
Idealistically, the highest level political entity shall be the one formed by all humans⸺there are no enemies but only partners.
All human species shall work together to improve humanity and approach happiness.

We need a self sustaining independent colony human colony outside earth just for secure reasons. Like a backup. But why bother with far away planets like mars that are barely able to support life if we got out Moon directly in front of our nose? We should much more focus our recourses on enlarging the space station or building a really big rotating wheel space station/ship, that can provide earth like gravity.

@And then they said ...OK, let's take a look at what you just said:
      1) "We only got 10 years to live anyway according to AOC" *AOC never said this, perhaps Fox commentators made that up*
      2) "we were supposed to all die in 2012" *AOC never said this either, nor did anyone else. Except maybe the Jehova's Witnesses*
      3) "Only possible way to survive is for rich countries to pump money in(to) poor countries" *Just false in so many ways. Even when climate change completely derails weather patterns and BILLIONS of people die, the richest .01% of the world will survive just fine in gated communities, maybe inside domes, even when the rest of us don't. They are currently working on consolidating as much money, resources and power as possible right now, and have been doing this for the past 20 years - they have known about climate change for a long time, they pay experts to do the research. This is why the rich are getting richer, and the poor, poorer.*
      4) "...Unconvinced truth NYC isn't under water its almost 2020" *Sounds like Fox "News" again. Climate change scientists never predicted NYC would be under water by 2020. The worst case scenario I've seen from the latest scientific forecasts is a 6ft rise of the seas by the year 2100, still 80 years away. Best case scenario, might be only 3ft rise by then. NYC at its highest point is 33ft, so that still doesn't mean it will be completely under water. It will just be an awful mess, and more than 100,000 people will have to move.*

One crucial thing that isn't mentioned - Mars has a very minuscule magnetic field, which is one reason why the atmosphere is so thin. The sun bakes it away. Even if we create a thicker atmosphere, it will bleed the atmosphere away.

Given the extra distance of Mars obrit the required strength of any protective magentosphere would be greatly reduced, and localised shielding can be performed many ways - he did mention living underground and that is one of the simplest of the solutions.
More of an issue that is usually missed is the lower gravity. The human body is not suited to life at less than 1g and prolonged exposure to low g can be an issue.
There are some simple solutions to deal with the issues (using exercise etc,), but for me the best is just to design living and working quarters that rotate (the scale and rotation rate would not need to match that of a typical space station due to the reduced g that is already present).

The problem with Mars is that its core is dead. On earth, our core is active and because of all the churning metals at incredibly high temperatures, it generates a magnetic field around the Earth. That magnetic field protects Earth's atmosphere from being blown away by solar flares. If we generated an atmosphere on Mars, it will easily be blown away by solar flares (which are common) because there is no magnetic field protecting it. Building and maintaining an atmosphere on Mars without an active core would be as futile as building and maintaining a snowman in the Nevada desert without a cooling mechanism that will preserve the snow. Eventually the atmosphere is going to dissipate and be lost into outer space just like the snowman will melt and evaporate away.

    • @BothHands1
      @BothHands1 8 лет назад

I think you meant to say "solar winds" which will erode the atmosphere, regardless of flares. As far as I know, flares have nothing to do with anything.

    • @letsdosomeresearch8705
      @letsdosomeresearch8705 8 лет назад

Danielle Spargo Solar flares have a lot to do with exactly what I've illustrated. They're large bursts of electromagnetic radiation from the sun. They are more likely to cause damage to Earth's atmosphere. Solar winds are a continuous emission of charged particles from the sun, much less damaging but not insignificant.
Interesting fact, the winds are what cause the Aurora Borealis.

Let's Do Some Research! What if we could jump start the core, we can probably drill much deeper into mars because gravity is so much lower and the radius is so much smaller. We could use nuclear waste, fission, solar powered batteries.

    • @letsdosomeresearch8705
      @letsdosomeresearch8705 8 лет назад +2

Ben Cradick I wouldn't rule that out as being impossible, but I highly doubt we could ever reach the core of Mars ever. We've barely even scratched the surface on Earth, and somehow we have to transport the tools and the energy all the way to another planet and somehow hope we can reach the core? I would need to see a lot more evidence that drilling to any planetary core is possible for me to believe such a thing.
The other thing is jumpstarting a core is one problem, but then how do you maintain a jumpstarted dead core? That is another monumental problem that seems incredibly difficult to accomplish.

@bluebloodbc the Apollo missions were to the moon, an inert Rocky body within earth orbit. Mars is a planet, with its own moons, an atmosphere and we are still learning things about it. Only in the last half decade did we learn that the soil contains a toxic form of sodium for example. Comparing mars to the moon in this context is just stupid frankly.

Yes, the weather is being modified by PSYCO-SCIENTISTS. Please go to Dr. Tom Bearden website and inform yourself on weather modification through tesla technology, using scalar electromagnetic technology to be able to bring about unprecedented floods, snow storms, draught, and whatever else they wish. Blocking (dimming) the sun as per Bill Gates and Dr. David Keith at Harward. These are real psychopaths at work. Go to neverlosetruth and look at all the flooding that is occurrring through science' weather manipulation/modification. They are inventing new terms such as "flash draughts", "arctic rivers", for example. Also, look at "Absolute proof no man was in space vacuum" by MrThriveandsurvieve. Then compare it to "How do spacesuits work" by this fool, clown, James May - BBC Earth Lab. He thinks, we are really dumb.
