6v6 just feels better to me. Playing tanks feels less stressful, playing dps feels more rewarding penetrating the increased defences and support feels more protected. Some heroes are stronger in 6v6 for sure, Juno can get so many missiles off on average now, but overall I commend Blizzard for throwing their hands up and saying "maybe we were wrong" and allowing us to make the judgement on 6v6 ourselves.
Generally I agree. I think that there's going to have to be some adjustments from players who never played off tank role in OW1 though. Currently, peeling habits are pretty bad compared to back then. From a support side, it doesn't feel too different than how it did in 1, but people gotta recognize that even losing 1 healer is going to make a bigger difference in a fight where 4 tanks are present. Even with self regen
@@Swyfty_we can’t really judge. not only is it a new gamemode right now but the fact that there’s no ranked setting is a turn down for most people who even care about the game format to begin with, but historically queue times for tank have always been pretty bad in 6v6 even when the game was balanced and there’s not really a way to fix that. tank has always been the least popular role throughout the history of gaming
6v6 just feels overall more fluid and consistent. Even if one tank dies, your other tank can potentially turn the fight around with their own ult. You don't have to wait for your tank to come back from spawn to push/defend again.
Exactly that. I’m able to hold a point/payload longer when one tank dies and I can try to focus healing on the other that’s still contesting 🫡 overall it’s just more fun imo
Felt much better than 5v5…Aside from some characters, 90% of them are MUCH BETTER in 6v6…Supports feel less hunted, dps is balanced and tank is finally more playable without giving all the responsibility to 1 tank of creating space while at the same time dive the back line and go on point. The tank role literally rejuvenated from this 6v6 mode.
There have been games where I had to pick up the slack from the other support, so I was heal botting. But others where I had almost as much damage as our dps. I think it needs to be in Comp to get a true gauge on it. QP is QP.
i still think that 6v6 is better foundation for Overwatch as a game because you can equally distribute the power between the roles easier than in 5v5. 6v6 is way more about synergy which is just more fun esp with friends. But i have to admit that Hero design is a big factor too. Heros like LW, Kiriko, Brigitte, Moira etc. will still be corny/annoying/unbalanced/Op/problematic no matter the format. Overall i think 6v6 should stay permanently but those heros need to be adjusted properly.

@@heartcoma life weaver pull is amazing in 6v6. preventing a tank from dying essentially can reset a fight. its almost like a long reaching rez. he also give dps off angles that are harder to come by in 6v6. and his ult is another shield to deal with as well. its way more than just heal botting.
@@ubadman1 Hell yeah, Bap and kiri are also much better for the same reason as pull. The ability to stabilise against the increased burst is very nice in 6v6. Lw also has more freedom to live, position, and use petal for the team.
@@ubadman1 finally a person that recognise LW utility 😭 i saved an entire fight pulling venture and elevating a doom with platform on hazard ult. it was soo amazing!
I was planning to play some matches yesterday and then go to ranked. Well, I stayed on 6x6. It feels so much better, so more fluid. It's not perfect, btw. It still needs some adjustments.
It's much easier to survive, but now I can't stop healing for a moment, it seems like everyone is busy, the supports heal, the dps have more work with 2 tanks, in 5v5 there is a lot of free time to do anything because of the one less tank
I feel like supports can dps more, actually. Healing a target under pressure feels less necessary since it is harder to keep up with the damage, so sometimes you have to rely on the team disengaging, and in that case might as well poke. Suzu, immortality, and even grip are much stronger now though, and can help adress this exact problem of tanks being hard to stabilise.
this is what i've been feeling about. now everyone have to focus more on doing their functions, and the window to "breath" is more tight and less common.
6v6 for 2 main reasons: 1. Tanks HAVE to work together or you're fucked. Two tanks who work together vs 2 tanks who don't is an instant loss and the rest of the team really cant do much to stop that 2. There's no way for individual growth, you HAVE to work with your team and if your team cant coordinate, it's just a loss. Ult spams win teamfights but you won't see nearly as much individual pop off
Playing Tank in 6v6 feels better, but it can quickly become a miserable fest if another tank can't sync with you. On the other hand, I agree with support becoming a heal bot cuz it's a lot harder to keep 2 tanks alive.
I stoped playing tank when 5v5 came out. I was always an off tank and just played support and dps when it came out. Now I’m hoping they just add back in to rank then I’ll play the game again. But as of now it’s MR for me and only that.
Same boat, except i cant play Rivals because of the optimisation issues, so the choice was made for me. I also never cared about ranked, so i don't mind 6v6 as it is.
5v5 sucks because if your tank dies you’re almost always going to get dominated while in ow1 you could survive with a single tank left because both healers would pocket making the last tank way harder to kill it also made the supports gain ult charge almost instantly
I haven't played support in the OW2 version of 6v6, but from what I remember it was very heal bot heavy. I'm not sure if support will be as fun in 6v6.
It was for me. You do get higher heal numbers with 10k+ being common, but you can't outheal the burst in 6v6 rn, so you have more room to dps in combat and heal at calmer moments. Some supports and tanks also allow for even more dpsing than before for the rest of the team.
Yeah its less damage. But the season 9 health pools and passives make you heal more than ever when applied to 6v6. 200hp squishies and no dps passive would make you have to heal less.
Not really, support damage is more important than it even was in 5v5. I’m winning games with 3k heals in 6v6, because damage and pressure output is so high. Zen kicks ass in this mode
@@RiderZer0 The damage increase is felt more than the tankiness increase of extra fronline. though the extra tank for sur eenables more dps from everyone.
I feel like healing too much makes your team fall over regardless, since you can burst down targets much faster in 6v6. Sometimes you just have to rely on the team to fall back and stabilise or die. So in those cases you are free to pump deeps.
Idk why blizzard hates Illari she's aggressively mid but keeps getting nerfs its really a shame cause she's a blast to play but blizzard just doesn't want her to be good
@@RiderZer0 I too have little interest in 6v6 and preferred 5v5 since the switch. The windows of down time in 5v5 allow for more interesting setups and staging and the game becomes more about angular control and mechanics that cooldown management, economy and macro.

How are the queue times compared to 5v5? I haven't tried 6v6 yet, but was concerned as my queue times on support in QP were already 3-4 mins in 5v5.
