Part 1/4: Is it possible to walk from Central Switzerland over the Alps to Lugano?

In this episode from Driving With Gloves Cor tries to find out if he can walk from Central Switzerland to Lugano, which is a walk from more than 130 km through the mountains. Of course he will sleep outside to make it all a real adventure. Will he make it?

Hey Cor it's Alwyn. Looking good, bud.
Now I know why you had to go off trail. That fence was preventing you from continuing along the highway into Göschenen (1111 m) which is the start (northern end) of the Gotthard Road Tunnel and the Gotthard Tunnel . Such a cool idea to make this hiking trip.
The Gotthard Tunnel (trains only) is 15.003 km long and opened in 1882.
The Gotthard Base Tunnel (trains only) is 57.09 km long and opened on June 1, 2016.
The Gotthard Road Tunnel (automotive vehicles only) is 16.9 km long and opened on Sept 5, 1980.

Hello, nice video!
I recommend you Valais and especially Les Portes du Soleil. You can take a chairlift in Les Crosets to Mossettes and then take another one to go down to France. Gorgeous views and couple of hours of hiking.
