I've been watching this series of discussions since their inception. I'm yet to hear any reference to Australians. I was one of the approximately 60,000 Australians-ground troops, air-force and naval personnel-who served in Vietnam between 1962 and 1972. 521 died as a result of the war and over 3,000 were wounded. 200 of those who died were conscripts like me.... Between 1962 and March 1972 the estimated cost of Australia's involvement to the war in Vietnam was $218.4 million.

Thank you for your service in Vietnam. My heart is the families of the 521 soldiers who lost their lives overseas. I grew up in Vietnam and we were aware that Australian soldiers were our allies. I wish you and your fellow veterans the very best.

What lesson did US government learn in regards to "Phoenix program"? If we assume that Jeremy Scahills research of JSOC raids (Irak, Afganistan, Yemen, Pakistan etc.) is true, I would say you have miserably failed to learn any lesson!
