Snow Leopard Cub Weigh In ❄️

Snowball Update ❄️
With the trusting relationship built between Jita and her Wildlife Care team, the cubs have been weighed, given a quick medical inspection, and had their den bedding changed. During this time, Jita is in a separate area of the maternity habitat, with visual access to the team. She is comfortable leaving the den for short periods of time for food and water, and quickly returns to care for the cubs.
The cubs continue to gain weight and become more mobile, weighing in at 1.105kg and 1.374kg. Jita continues to be an excellent first-time mother and is still diligently nursing, grooming, and cuddling her little ones.
With the exception of these short medical checks, her Wildlife Care team continues to monitor the family closely via security cameras to track their development while minimizing disturbances.
Please note: Jita and her new cubs are NOT currently visible to guests visiting the Zoo as we give them privacy, but we will keep you updated on how these little #snowballs continue to grow ❄️ #GuardiansOfWild #Caturday
