Exactly! God will judge us when it's our time. We should love one another, we are all siblings in the eyes of God. Funny thing is I'm not even a Christian yet I still know the real Christian morals better than most people who call themselves Christians.
But I'm also a hermaphrodite and stuggle with my gender because biological I'm both male and female. While I appreciate your intention to uplift others by ignoring the transphobic comments, it seems you have exaggerated the extent of transphobic comments. At the time of commenting this, there are 32 comments, including this one, 3 of which are transphobic. Only 9.7% of the comment section is transphobic, yet your response implies that there are so many transphobic comments that you need to inform trans people that they should ignore the comments and remember that they are loved. Are they not already loved and accepted by the majority of the west? Also to which comments are you referring to? Because out of the 3 comments I found, one was biblical nonsense, one was vaguely transphobic depending on it's interpretation, and only one was actually transphobic. ONE. The comment was from LoveFromLenore btw: "A MAN has prostate cancer (26 mins ago)" I'm curious to understand why you felt the need to express your opinion in such strong terms. Was your initial focus solely on identifying transphobic comments and interpreting them personally? Because it seems like that is all you have done here.
@@baguette4205 Actually, based on the time stamps, it seems like there were many directly transphobic comments in the first 1-3 hours that were deleted by a moderator / channel owner for hate speech. The comments you referenced were made AFTER this person's post, so the offending comments they were referring to (or the users who made them) were probably blocked already by the time you saw this post. There were also some other less direct comments which could borderline on offensive as well that I've generally seen mixed opinions on by trans people (re: certain beliefs that are seen as hurtful/transphobic to some but harmless/non-transphobic to others), and it could be that you draw the offensive line very differently than OP does. For my education-what would be the most respectful/inoffensive way to address an individual who happens to be trans as a healthcare professional? would it be okay to say “as you are transgender, we need to consider conditions related to your biological pre-transition gender?” Is using the term transgender actually offensive?
the term transgender itself is not at all offensive, the problem in the episode where she becomes upset was likely due to the way halstead said it. when he says "did you know it's offensive to use the word transgender as a noun" that probably means he referred to denise as "a transgender" when talking to her. that's something that many (not all, no group of people will always have the same thoughts) trans people might find offensive. for example, him saying something like "since you are a transgender" instead of "since you are transgender" could be hurtful. it's a small difference but maybe you can see how the first one could sound a bit more dehumanizing or belittling. hope that helped :)
as a trans girl myself, the term “transgender” is most definitely not offensive. however referring to an individual as “a transgender” or “that transgender over there” may be off-putting, not just with trans people but any group of people in general.
No she just misses her brother that's completely understandable. She had a brother her whole life until nine years ago That's not going to be something someone overcomes
it's really something for a lot of us trans people to deal with passability in a healthy way. sometimes we are just completely scared of humiliation. of being marginalised again. it is terrifying. anyway i too think that she shouldn't have hidden her medical records from the staff.
I get that she was scared about revealing her transgenderism. But it was important for doctors to know. Doctors don't judge. They need to know everything to give the best possible care.
Except doctors do judge. There's a well known thing within the transgender community called "Trans broken arm syndrome". There is a worryingly large amount of doctors who upon learning that the patient is trans, will insist on blaming whatever the person is suffering from, like having a broken arm, being an effect of transitioning or focusing almost entirely on asking irrelevant invasive questions about their gender, no matter how irrelevant they are (to clarify, i don't mean asking about their gender status is always irrelevant, i mean continuing asking more and more questions than is necessary). It is sadly a rather common occurrence with trans people, and because of it, withholding their trans status from doctors generally CAN result in better care sadly, even with the risk of it being relevant. Btw as a side note, i would avoid using the term "transgenderism" in the future, as it is a term used by anti-trans people to paint being trans as an ideology and something that people try to convert you into. I'm sure you didn't mean any offense with it tho, since there's a decent amount of people who aren't aware of it's origins and common usage.
No it isn’t offensive to use the word transgender as a noun, it’s already been established that all history needs to be provided to doctors. Besides she used the word any way, sure she didn’t want to but that doesn’t matter, it’s what she is
Idk how thingd go elsewhere in the world but I believe medical records get shared around the different doctors when they begin attending new patients? Like Im trans and any doctor who treats me would get all my medical records from the get go, not because I am trans, but because doctors need to know all about your medical history.

Because everyone struggles with the idea of self? And usually, once a trans person starts medically or socially transitioning, they are so much happier and accept themselves for who they are in that moment. Them "refusing to accept themselves for who they were" is such a deep, decades long process of constantly struggling in a body you didn't ask to be born in. We accept that we have a hard time accepting our bodies, that's literally medical dysphoria. But just because we struggle with our identity of self, only for it to be resolved if we get proper treatment and acceptance, does that truly mean that you'll never accept me for who I am, just because of who I was? The issue isn't the word transgender, it's using it as a noun (I talked to **the** transgender in room 12) instead of as an adjective that modifies a noun (I spoke to the transgender woman/man/person/jerk in room 12). It really is a small thing, a perfect example of a micro-aggression, something any reasonable person should be able to just shrug off. Except, the thing with micro-aggressions is that it's never just one, but dozens or hundreds every day, enough to gradually wear down anyone's tolerance. Beyond that, while trans people know that the world is full of well-meaning but clueless people making honest mistakes, we also know that it's full of violent assholes who want to hurt or even kill us for being trans, people who think we're gross just for existing, or people who just have a lot of incorrect ideas about trans people that they're not willing to unlearn. We've all encountered people who seemed perfectly nice, only to transform into huge assholes the second they find out we're trans. That means we're always at least a little on-guard around strangers, always watching for the bad vibes that signal someone might be dangerous, and sometimes we get it wrong. Sometimes we get bad vibes from someone who's just made an innocent mistake, and we decide that protecting ourselves and getting out of that situation is more important than this other person's feelings. It sucks, but it happens because it's often the best of a set of bad options. (It doesn't help that, a lot of the time, the people who very deliberately want to hurt or upset us pretend that they're just making innocent mistakes as cover, but that's a whole other thing.) We're really not looking to get mad or offended. We've just grown used to protecting ourselves in a world that has only barely begun to accept our existence. It can make us a little prickly around people we don't know we can trust, but we're still just normal people underneath.
@@Lilithotw no it's not, no-one can just change their gender like that, it's physically not possible and never will be, so people need to learn to accept what they are born as, and live with it

Let this be a message to ANY bigoted people in this comment section or the world: There's a passage in the Bible that says "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Which I take to mean "Don't judge others for how they choose to live, because we all get judged on our worthiness to enter the pearly gates. Being bigoted will render your worthiness null and void."
Well said!
@@alicelucy1333 I'm just so sick of any form of prejudice. And I'm sick of getting judged because I have this belief. It's okay to worship God, but I don't think he would want anyone to punish anybody who's different with such prejudice. It's never gone well in the past for either side.
@@Rainbow.Pegacorn.Cosplay I agree, I feel people should be who they want to be. But when biological men are coming into womens spaces that's a big no
To any trans people reading: Ignore any of these other vile comments here, you're always going to be loved and accepted by people in this world, and these angry losers won't ever change that.
ONE.
The comment was from LoveFromLenore btw: "A MAN has prostate cancer (26 mins ago)"
I'm curious to understand why you felt the need to express your opinion in such strong terms. Was your initial focus solely on identifying transphobic comments and interpreting them personally? Because it seems like that is all you have done here.
@@baguette4205 😂u mad?
Regardless, there is no reason for you to cherrypick a heartfelt message just because you think the commenter had hidden intentions or because you think that trans people are "already loved and accepted" enough by the west. What was the point? Genuinely reflect on that, cause I can't figure it out.

Watch the video! They mention that the prostate was a tough surgery.
For my education-what would be the most respectful/inoffensive way to address an individual who happens to be trans as a healthcare professional? would it be okay to say “as you are transgender, we need to consider conditions related to your biological pre-transition gender?” Is using the term transgender actually offensive?
Nah the term transgender is not offensive especially when you need a yes or no answer for medically relevant information.
the term transgender itself is not at all offensive, the problem in the episode where she becomes upset was likely due to the way halstead said it. when he says "did you know it's offensive to use the word transgender as a noun" that probably means he referred to denise as "a transgender" when talking to her. that's something that many (not all, no group of people will always have the same thoughts) trans people might find offensive. for example, him saying something like "since you are a transgender" instead of "since you are transgender" could be hurtful. it's a small difference but maybe you can see how the first one could sound a bit more dehumanizing or belittling. hope that helped :)
as a trans girl myself, the term “transgender” is most definitely not offensive. however referring to an individual as “a transgender” or “that transgender over there” may be off-putting, not just with trans people but any group of people in general.

I get that she was scared about revealing her transgenderism. But it was important for doctors to know. Doctors don't judge. They need to know everything to give the best possible care.
sadly lots of doctors judge, transgender broken arm syndrome is real, when the doctor blames everything on the hormones.

A piece of wisdom: How can they expect us to accept them for who they are, if they refused to accept themselves for who they were?
Oh honey you do realize no one is EVER truly comfortable with themselves. It takes time and effort from everyone
That sounds deeply hypocritical. A piece of wisdom: maybe just don't judge people based on your assumptions of them and prejudices towards them?

A he, that’s a man.
(It doesn't help that, a lot of the time, the people who very deliberately want to hurt or upset us pretend that they're just making innocent mistakes as cover, but that's a whole other thing.)
We're really not looking to get mad or offended. We've just grown used to protecting ourselves in a world that has only barely begun to accept our existence. It can make us a little prickly around people we don't know we can trust, but we're still just normal people underneath.
