Watching this series, as someone who got taken for a ride by Bird a couple years ago for 2b, is so satisfying.
FYI, they will often drag you out by using 2 accs with similar name, so you trade one that tele'd near enough by for your character to path to it, out of the safe zone.
The moment you even begin to play along with them, you've lost.
Jagex should give you a specialised acc that has a toggle to remove you from all friend/ignore lists so you cant be tracked and has unlimited name changes so you can do this forever

So many scams built on trust. One guy on a level 117 account would simply say, "Give me x item they are wearing," and establish trust by showing 20b. And it frequently succeeds.

Fr. The scammers love these videos. Because they let regular players think they can anti scam them. If a random person you've never seen ever messages you, tries to talk to you etc while you are wearing something valuable. Ignore list and move on.

Funny story, my mate and I were drinking irl and bank standing at the GE. Some girl comes up to me and does this whole scam, problem was, I was too intoxicated to recognise what was going on 😂
After she gets all my bandos and stuff I say, oh don’t worry I can get another one, and just buy another set from the bank, then she got real mean about how I LIED to her about how much money I had and starts calling me names, then logs out 😂

"spotlighty" has been doing that same scam on different accounts since at least 2018. Same script, too, word for word. The scam is basically to convince you to trust them and help them with their "item collection" in exchange for some big reward / your dream item. In the end, you just end up giving them every thing you have in the hopes of a big payout in the end. After you've given them a little bit they try to make you feel like you're already in too deep to stop which is why that guy kept getting progressively more naked.

Probably hoping for the 5m/10m back from people who take that and run too. Jagex just like the botting problem could hire one person and who just hops around ge incognito finding and banning scammers and bots. 1 extra person hired with the ability to ban could make it real hard for any bot or scammers at the ge. And if you had one j mod who worked on bots he could literally just go to all the most botted areas and 1 by 1 ban all the bots. Clearing out world by world. Yet.. the economy is falling apart and scammers get to go on with impunity
