    It is easier to tell if a person is doping in some sports like track sprints (e.g. 200m) because a person's race time will suddenly improve dramatically or the athlete start beating sprinters that use to leave them in the dust since high school.

    • @daw7773
      @daw7773 2 года назад +1

      @IKnowItHurtsLOL Sprinters know that speed is 85-90% "God given" and 10-15% based on training,diet etc. This is the reason why a person will not win a speed(less than 200m) races regardless of how much they train unless they are born with exceptional speed. Many professional sprinters race each other for many years(e.g. college) and they know that a person's raw speed will NOT improve substantially over short period of time. Especially, the sprinters who cut their times dramatically later in their professional career will always be suspect of using massive PEDs(e.g. Flo Jo, Marion Jones,Gatlin).

    • @daw7773
      @daw7773 2 года назад

      @IKnowItHurtsLOL Yes a sudden decrease in a race less than 200m for a professional athlete is a red flag.(I am not taking about a child or teenager). Sprinters will understand me. People will always game whatever system is in place, it's like in cycling with Bradley Wiggins, I am sure that Bradley thought he was perfectly within the rules (which technically he was) but his competitors were annoyed because they thought he was basically exploiting a loophole. But he was following his doctor's orders, and the doctor's job is to make the athlete perform at their best (team success means money for the doc).
    The only solution is tougher rules.

For the Olympics, and sorry to the viewers and fans, but it really is more about honor and respect than about giving the viewers a good show. If you want that, people should just create a PEDs Olympics. Lots of athletes take the Olympics super serious, and they want it all to be just fair.

    I hate the argument that a lot of people say about giving everyone the same dosage and let them do steroids, as then all that happens is exactly the same, but lifting the bar from 0 banned substances in the blood to X amount, people will still abuse that. Besides the point of this, my main point is that I'd like to know when people comment "he/she's obviously used PED's as they are a top level athlete," what is qualifying them to say this? IE what exposure do you have to these circles, industries, people. Everyone can read up about it and watch the Lance/Oprah interview and say well everyone is, but to make such bold statements I'd really like to see what exposure people have to professional lifestyle before making a massive sweeping claim, and if they have this insight, why are they commenting on youtube rather than working with official bodies.

But people have different morals to me, just my opinion. As a concept in the regulation of professional sport however, i think this is equally as valid as banning all PEDs. Just watch his first Olympic performance time in the 200m and previous meets that he ran in 2004(200m time 21.5 secs) and his "sudden" huge time reduction in 2008 (200m 19.30secs). A Sprinter's speed is 85-90% mostly "God given" the rest is coaching/training, diet etc. He dropped his time by more than 2 seconds and starting "beating" runners by 3-4 strides that use to beat him easily. That is a major red flag that an sprinter is using performance enhancing drugs.

      In that case, the medal should go to the people producing the best substances.
      Now that you mention it, your idea sounds like a competitive clinical trial.
      The issue is the high stakes; people look up to and value these athletes, not to mention the monetary side of things. As long as they are put on a pedastal, and get the utmost respect because of it, there will be a reason to cheat. We as a society cause this problem, and then wonder why it's happening. It's quite odd.
      I have no problem treating them as athletes that Excel at a particular sport; the issue is that we tend to treat them not as if they are gifted or hardworking athletes, but gods among mere mortals that we should look up to and strive to become. Well, when the only way to become that is to juice and your entire life has been spent trying to achieve something similar to those that have succeeded prior, what is one more likely to do? Reevaluate their entire life and perspective and change courses after so much dedication, or juice and attempt to even the playing field or tip the scales in their favor? Probably the latter.

      I don't agree, people always say this but it would set a bad example to kids and the wider public, who would go out and do these drugs, and then kill themselves from misuse. And of course the athletes would suffer harm themselves, but if you want to think about it purely selfishly, it would be a bad influence to your kids or young relatives.

I will say that I wonder about Shelly-Anne Fraser Pryce's accomplishments since turning 34 years of age. I know any Jamaican reading this is going to get upset b/c she's their Queen. That's fine. But think about it. Prior to age 34, she never ran faster than 22.0 seconds in a 200 meter race. Then at age 34 she runs a sub-22.0. At age 35, she does it again most recently in Eugene this past week. Prior to age 34, she never ran faster than a 10.70 in the 100 meters. Now she's run a 10.67 and a 10.60. At age 35 halfway to turning 36 years old. Maybe she's an anomaly. Maybe she's blessed by God. Or maybe there's something else going on.

My point is it doesn't really matter if the black athlete is raised in the City or suburbs like my black cousins they faster than others is by their genes fast twitched muscles development and their exposure to great coaching as I am white as I developed my athleticism not as fast as the black athlete as they have superior genes. Here in south Orange County now I taught my daughter suburbs played soccer and basketball her has Mexican and white her genes developed like I did by later her coach was huge on team speed. It’s not about CATCHING all athletes who use enhancing substances, it’s about having the athletes understand that they could be caught and career be over - that’s precisely why doping officers can show up anywhere at anytime to take samples. The trade off for being a world champion, being endorsed and making lots of fame and money and glory. Sports is about succeeding by using your natural abilities.
