  • Tate Modern presented the first major retrospective of his work in the UK. Curator Sheena Wagstaff offers an overview of the exhibition.
    Muñoz described himself as a storyteller, and often arranged his figures and objects in carefully staged configurations that hint at unsettling and ambiguous scenarios. One of the last things he made before his untimely death in 2001 at the age of 48 was a vast stage-set-like installation for Tate Modern's Turbine Hall.
