Hartebeest is so underrated, a lot of the attention goes to Harpy Hare (Another really amazing song from Yaelorke) and this one is pushed to the side. Which is disappointing, it has so much emotion and its nust amazing, the sound affects, the singing, the art for it, the instruments, it's all so beautiful and amazing. It almost brought me to tears listening to it for the first time honestly. My favorite Yaelorke song honestly, every song is amazing. 🌼🍂
my cat of 16 years passed away yesterday, and I've been listening to a lot of folk music to lift my spirits. It's like I can imagine the two of us completing adventures in a fantasy world.
Im very sorry, those are a great many years, your kitty will always accompany you in your journey by heart and spirit form 🐈🌬️💛 I hope you will be alright!
You're like, hitting every spot in my soul rn. I'm obsessed with forests, fantasy, anything magical/folk really. Fairies were always a part of my childhood, and my mother was really big into anything nature. So I'm just having a great time with this, thank you for this magic
This type of music, this type of art... It gives me a sense of longing for something I've never known but felt like I've always needed. Like it would heal my soul to be there listening to this ragtag group playing in a tavern on a warm summer night, singing along with all the other patrons.
Yaelokre has outdone themselves once again because oh my god- This is the perfect example of art matches the artist, whether that be music or their illustrations, it just all fits together so perfectly and it's a real treat for the eyes. I love this new illustration. All of the characters blend together well but they are also distinct enough to not just be one string of character that just looks the same with just a slight closet change. Their music is so relaxing too, and also perfect writing inspo for fantasy and such. In conclusion: Yaelokre is underrated and deserves more love for their amazing art in all it's forms
You grant me too much kindness :~) i do not think my efforts are deserving of such praise but your message does summon a smile! Thank you for being sweet 💐
@@Yaelokre look, I just started listening to your music 2 days ago and I dont know how you do it. It's so, enchanting, to listen to. Please never stop, you're amazing.😊
I remember crying the first time i heard Harpy Hare bcz it was so good, and I love this so much too! I'm so glad you kept making songs despite all the drama in recent months, keep up the work! Reminds me so much of the countryside, I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Hartebeest are a species of African antelope, which would make the cats in the song lions. These children identify strongly with predators; I wonder why that is?
Personally I feel it's the opposite. They're constantly making references not only to predators, but the prey as well: here there urging the rabbit to run in the corse, in "Harpy Hare" they sing about how the children will escape even if it means their death, in "And The Hound" they sing about what sounds like (in my mind atleast) one of the victims of said hound. With how passionately they speak of these figures in their songs makes me feel like it's supposed to be them in someway, that they're trying to instill something hopefully or rebellious in their audience.
@@honeycomb690it’s like they’re saying, prey mustn’t be meek! Though they lack teeth or claws or the strength of the ones hunting them, keep fighting for life. Flee to live another day if you must, just do not lay down and accept what “must be” run for the sunrise.
@@honeycomb690 I feel that way too. And all of their masks (excluding Kingsley's) are of prey animals (or at least herbivorous animals, that are usually lower on the food chain). Now that I think about it, it makes me wonder why Kingsley's mask is themed after plants; like the grass those animals would feed on, or the bushes those animals would hide in.
Yaelokre reminds me of a vision where the world is ended and society is fallen and there's people in animal masks to blend in helping survivors and I love it
This feels like the voices of those within the acre woods. It's like... they lure you to their sensitivities and once they capture your vulnerability they sway you the truth of mother nature's anger.
My inner symbolism-loving Nerd is screaming about the "Hazel beneath our claws" because I've always been taught that it wards against Evil spirits and that ties so damn beautifully with the image I have of these singers discussing those clinging to their one-shot at escaping. Don't get me started on their masks. In short this is beautiful. The story is beautiful. The singing is just pure magic.
@mommygottaglock70 Purely symbolically speaking the masks Hare: Representative of rebirth or resurrection. To take this more in my current understanding of the story, it sort of ties to the idea that the Meadow allows you to create yourself. Goat: greatness, excellence, and strength The latter probably is the most important showing an underlying strength that Clem has (Sorry dyslexia and I can't scroll whilst commenting) Moose: Outside of strength, there's the additional aspect of wisdom and adaptability to navigate the challenges of life with grace. Nature: a little harder to nail down as nature itself is ever changing, and ever adapting, there is no one determination on what nature could be. I don't know if the masks are tied to the personality of the characters, the ones who came before or simply were chosen to further the story. Either way, it's beautiful.
To me it evokes the image that the rabbits are running like hell from the feral cats coming after them, their feet hitting the ground so furiously it shreds the hazel plants beneath them.
I am in love with every song yaelokre makes, I think they nailed the fantasy tone so amazingly much, they’re voice are so fitting for every song they makes, I just in general love the vibe, it really inspires me to make music, the story behind all of this is just FANTASTIC, the creativity in this album is so stunning, I am glad they got all of the attention they deserved, KEEP INSPIRING PEOPLE!
Your illustrations make me feel like a child again, excited to look at the art in my childhood books. Your music adds a beautiful touch along with it, making it feel melancholic and nostalgic. Great work. 🧡
I grew up with picture books, to be able to deliver that same wonder to others kin to that kind of longing is a dream :~) thank you for leaving me your note! 🤗🌾
When I was growing up, my mother would make up a story to tell me every night from her imagination, with me staring as the princess in each. She never wrote down any of those stories but I remember the feeling I had when she told them to me. I was instantly transported to each world she created, filled with magic, mythical creatures, battles and love. This music somehow gives me that same feeling I had while tucked in bed and my mother telling me stories by my dimly lit lamp. ✨ like the feeling of handing on the edge of your seat. I love it!
I never comment on ANY video but i must say: i have not stopped listening to your music since i have found out about it. I am absolutely floored by the quality of sound, presentation, and just pure magic of your art and music. This is making me believe in fairy tales again. Very well done!

Funny how I stumbled upon a Short with the music of Harpy Hare, which was the reason why I searched for Yaelokre in the first place. It's a great song, same as this one. I absolutely adore the music and the art style, with the beginning of a nice story! I always was a fan of Fae and fairytales, grew up with the Changeling P&P and played the roles of fairy folk in LARP. Thank you for giving me this kick of nostalgia and from now on I'm looking forward to hear and see more!

This so perfectly captures that feeling when you burst through the thorny new growth and the buttressed vaults of the canopy open up the forest like a cathedral
For some reason the beginning humming gives me a vibe about Native Americans, and I LOVE IT SO MUCHH, but in other words, everything about this song is amazing! Yaelokre nailed this!!!
I think one of my favorite things about your songs is figuring out which Lark member is singing! It’s so fun to learn more about each of them based off what lyrics they sing and their intonation!! I love your music!!!!
This whole time I thought it was 'for the heart to go around' rather than 'for the hunt to go awry' and 'unsettled ticks run through time' was something more akin to 'onset ortez run through time'. I did also think 'I can sing a fear or a melody' was 'can't' and 'malady'; it's interesting how all the mishearings still add to the feel of the song, and there's a certain mystery to how differently I perceive songs when not reading lyrics. The art is also stunning! Their poses are so dynamic, I cannot stop studying the flow and gestural energy of their hands, all so different but grandiose!
Grandiose is a perfect word to have about for these fellas on stage heheh, this is wonderful :~) i am glad the lyrics have been cleared up, but it is also quite riveting to find how others perceive my sentences! Its a lot of fun! Thank you for leaving me your comment Enoshade 🤗🌻
When I tell you that Yaelokre’s music makes me feel so alive, I mean it with every fibre of my being! I wish for one day to go into the woods with friends and just sing!

This is one of my favorite songs from you. This illustration is absolutely gorgeous, the colour pallet and the lighting are so nice, it reminds me of what I’d think when listening to a folklore tale
Very few times in my life have I becomes so obsessed with something so quickly. I discovered Yaelokre literally 2 hours ago, and now I want to know everything. As a writer/artist myself, folk music is definitely my favorite. The entire genre is like a love letter to storytelling, folktales/fairytales, fantasy, nature, and the wonder of imagination itself. It’s both whimsical and haunting. Nostalgic and creative. Childish and profoundly meaningful. Everything a good fairytale should be. And I feel like you have taken that concept and ran as far as you can with it. It is insanely cool. I want the lore dump lol. I want to get to know all of these characters and learn what this story and world is all about. 🤩
I discovered them merely 20 or so minutes ago and my god they will be part of my life for many years to come, im absolutely obsessed with every aspect of their music. From the illustrations, lore, vocals, the music itself is phenomenal. Ive never exlerienced music like this before, and I likely never will again.
I just realised, the little releases on "run run run run run" act as their own notes, being instead "run-uh run-uh run-uh run-uh run" making it keep moving forward, ingenious!!
Hush now ye who hark and gather 'fore the stage, let thy wounds and thy weary worries slip away as melody wafts unto thee. Revel in the chorus that faces you now and rejoice as curtains draw once more, an old friend waving thee closer into story and song.
Within thy harkening, forthly wishing thy ones a piece of thy nature 'fore thy foes thee vanish away, til thy harkers released thee breath of thy way of thee world.
I need to genuinely appreciate this artists vocals rn . 3:39 also , I want to point out how it changed from “ Little Rabbit ( run , run , run , run . ) to ( Run , run , run , run . ) Little rabbit . “ as in “ You need to run Little rabbit “ to “ Run , run away little rabbit . “ I FUCKING AAAAAAAA

I am utterly enamored with every aspect of Meadowlark and the way you bring it to life. The beautiful artwork, the subtly mysterious and intriguing story, the uniquely brilliant characters; all of it leaves me speechless in a way that I have seldom experienced before. Even beyond all of that, your mere personality and energy that you display is one of genuine joy and whimsy that seems so scarce these days. But what is the STORY? We are starving for the story of these songs and characters. They're kids performing a misunderstood retelling of a folktale, if I'm remembering right? Is there a cannon story or are we supposed to take the songs and lyrics and interpret them on our own? I have a theory based on the various songs' lyrics but I want to know if that's the artist's intention or if there's more lore coming.
The story and parts of it progresses every song and release, it is up for the audience to decide whether they would wish to listen as just music or to piece the narrative together! 🙇⭐ I apologise if it does get confusing along the way!
@Yaelokre Ah ok that makes it more clear. So we're kinda free to put together whatever story we get from the lyrics of each song? Thanks for clarifying!
There is a story set in stone of course! But as the nature of storytelling, a lot of it tend to be retold and understood differently by unique individuals, it is only natural to come up with your own interpretation! :~)

Yaelokre has outdone themselves once again because oh my god-
This is the perfect example of art matches the artist, whether that be music or their illustrations, it just all fits together so perfectly and it's a real treat for the eyes.

Now that I think about it, it makes me wonder why Kingsley's mask is themed after plants; like the grass those animals would feed on, or the bushes those animals would hide in.
arent they wearing masks of prey animals?
Children often do. Lions and tigers tend to be popular favorite animals
Yaelokre reminds me of a vision where the world is ended and society is fallen and there's people in animal masks to blend in helping survivors and I love it

No. Start talking about their masks. I wanna know what you think about them.
@mommygottaglock70
Purely symbolically speaking the masks
Hare: Representative of rebirth or resurrection. To take this more in my current understanding of the story, it sort of ties to the idea that the Meadow allows you to create yourself.
Goat: greatness, excellence, and strength The latter probably is the most important showing an underlying strength that Clem has (Sorry dyslexia and I can't scroll whilst commenting)
Moose: Outside of strength, there's the additional aspect of wisdom and adaptability to navigate the challenges of life with grace.
@@Birch-tree-circle I thought it was a sheep, not a goat?
@@WobblesandBean Their a goat. A comment by the creator confirms it. But I do see what you mean.

I love that part, I still have a hard time differentiating them though, who do you think is singing this one?
Samee i guess the one with the kinda deep voice is cole?? Idk
Who is singing?

Very few times in my life have I becomes so obsessed with something so quickly. I discovered Yaelokre literally 2 hours ago, and now I want to know everything.

These characters and the world built around them would be an absolutely perfect book concept
