- Former US president Donald Trump has been praised online for dropping an "epic" 2024 campaign video that featured a silhouette of his head eclipsing the sun.
On Sunday, Trump shared a solar eclipse video from X by @PapiTrumpo on his Truth Social page.
The full video, lasting 1 minute and 25 seconds, began with: "The most important moment in human history is taking place in 2024."
It depicted people watching a solar eclipse, with Trump's head replacing the moon's shadow.
The campaign-style video ended the MAGA vision of making "America great again".
The video was released ahead of the eclipse that swept across Mexico, the USA, and Canada on Monday.

A video humorously veiling the sun with the silhouette of Trump's head is just a meme designed to make people laugh and call attention to his message during an election campaign cycle. Lots of people got a good belly laugh out of it and moved on. Others like yourself think differently and make too much of a nothing burger.

What was that purple flame/light coming out of the bottom of the moon just as it went total? Never saw that in my 3 eclipses I witnessed.
@@Capohanf1 I would conjecture that it was a combination of solar flare activity and earth's atmosphere filtering the light (with it's myriad components) in your vantage point. Solar flares are wicked powerful and reach millions of miles into space. They wreak havoc on earth and all communication activities.

I have seen THREE total solar Eclipses in my 68 Years. They were interesting, the one that happened in summer when I was out in the countryside was the most interesting as one minute the birds were singing and the bees were buzzing and the next all were silent as the landscape went dark.
