lorenzo bassi people still play big spell mage and tempo mage (with spellzerker now), so not sure what you’re talking about unless you’re referring to the video only??
There are many odd mage decks though. We need more descriptive labels :P
@@Radarssbm I made a new account a month ago and got a 13 game win streak with tempo mage with starting cards. It's not 'weak', it just sucks against current meta decks, along with big mage(less bad).

i have an odd elemage, an elemental mage(all mana costs) and a pocket galaxy mage(all mana costs). of the three, i find my strongest is odd elemage, but my favorite to play is probably my pocket galaxy, because meme decks are a blast

Conditional Rag. Jan'alai isn't gonna trigger any time soon if you don't specifically build your deck around it.
the only reason is because ragnoros could be used in every single class, so any control deck could use him. Now janail can only be used in 1 class

Hey guys, is it worth crafting Hagatha for Even Shaman? I'm at rank 16 rn with an even shaman deck that doesn't have Lich King, Hagatha, or Kalimos, and I'm definitely not crafting Lich King or Kalimos because they're rotating out in a month or so, but is Hagatha worth it for Even Shaman? My variant of the deck is a bit on the aggressive side so I'm wondering whether Hagatha will actually slow my deck down with the AOE.
Second question: What's the best deck against Secret Hunter? I've run into about 8 of them in a row now and I actually decided to replace a few minions in my deck with 2 or less health just to dodge Deathstalker Rexxar and explosive trap but I'm wondering if there's a better counter deck to it. I mean, I've been on a huge win streak rn against it with Even Shaman but I feel like it's really sketchy (betting on them not drawing explosive trap, Zul'jin, Rexxar, etc)
Andrew Sun Lich King rotates out in February so still would recommend. Hagatha gives you almost infinite value so I say it makes up for the possible killing of your own minions,
However, as a whole, even shaman is a bit more midrange than aggro
Lich King doesn't rotate until April. That's 4 months away. Personally, he is my No. 1 choice out of any of those, but Hagatha would be number 2 as a massive value generator.

Pretty much aggro. No Lich King or Hagatha right now so the deck really can't afford to go into prolonged matches, so I just took out some of the slower cards and made it more of a tempo/aggro deck. It kinda feels like zoo, but a bit more sticky on the board and can generate tokens more easily.
Imo Hagatha is a safe and valuable craft and will be staying till 2020 April.

6:11 voodo doll the full cairne ping it then dragons furry clears board and only leaves a lonely son. That one hurt a little. Yolo rag sometimes isn't the answer.
Edit: take this with a grain of salt since its coming from the haha kingsbane even rouge guy. Giving sub par advice everywhere i go.
I didn't see the voodoo doll, but playing dragon's fury was mandatory there.

@@pivotsvsstickman There's currently 24 decks with 50%+ winrate on hsreplay. Discard warlock is at 41%. That's terrible, not matter how you look at it.
@@TheAce12570 I take 41% while having fun any day over playing the same thing over and over again ;) I'm not trying to get to rank 1 legend with discard warlock I'm just enjoying playing something different. And 41% is actually pretty good for a "just4fun" deck.

Because he didn't/doesn't think odd mage will be tier 1. And I agree. An allstar card in a "bad" deck is not worthy of 5 stars. Odd mage got a power boost but I don't think its T1 yet. That said, the meta is still a gelatinous soup right now that could be anything, guess we'll find out in a few weeks.
@@shino4242 You are not wrong about the it not being a tier 1 deck. however its a very solid tier 2 deck probably in my mind a upper tier 2 deck. it curves very nicely and has a lot of flexibility for tech so it can overcome some of it's worse match ups. also this deck is insane against aggro
@@NeilFosterTheDarkGameMaster Question...whats your point? I said it's not T1, you agree. So we're on the same page. So...it doesn't really go against anything I'm saying, yet your wording implies you are attempting to counterpoint/appeal to me on some level. Basically a "yeah, but...". Heck I was already generous and left room open for it to be potentially T1 when the new set meta settles down (though probably not).
So what's your "but". Because your but sounds like exactly what I already said...its a great card in a not T1 deck, meaning it isn't 5 stars.
The way most streamers, Trump included, tend to decide if a card is 5 star worthy or not, it needs to either be a card that goes into basically every deck (like giggling), goes into every deck of that class and have that class be good (spreading plague), or completely warp the metagame around them (several death knights, baku/genn, etc). On paper, its effect in a vaccume, Janalai is insane...its a 1 mana cheaper ragnaros with an additional 4/4 body attached. And rag was so good they banned him. But you can't just look at things in a vaccume. You have to look at the whole puzzle. And thats the thing...star ratings aren't set in stone.
Three examples of this:
Malygos. He's a card you always have to at least think about anytime they make either cheap damage spells or ways to cheat mana costs. Yet he goes through periods of being basically unplayable...yet right now he's a living disaster that destroys everything in his wake with the flick of the wrist and is the star player in one of the most consistent T1 combo decks in the game. But "tomorrow", he might be unplayable trash.
Almost every card in quest rogue: Everybody thought the rogue quest was a joke. Everybody thought it would be too hard to pull off consistently enough to actually be relevant. And if you look at its various deck lists at each stage of it being in power...its a deck that seems to be full of trash. Like, holy crap, on paper almost every card in that deck is trash. All only being usable because of the quest being so singularly powerful.
Many of the minion/silverhand recruit synergies in odd paladin: Raid Leader and Stormwind Champion as 2 examples have both made unironic appearances in that deck at times. Those are terrible cards that happen to have found their soul mate with the silver hand hero power.
At the time of the rating and even now that the deck appears to NOT be a total joke, It's a 3 (maaaybe 4) star card. It may pull a malygos and be stupidly insane next set where its revealed blizzard game mage a way to play 3 one mana janalais in one turn and trigger end of turn effects 5 times a turn, in which case it becomes re-evaluated.
But that's tomorrow. Today, its not there yet.

Diony Augusto I've been playing an elemental mage similar to Kiblers old list, but updated with a few new cards. Arcanosaur is actually a great card because spell Hunter is back

Trump is literally insane.6:15 Dragon's Fury + Voodoo Doll + Ping removes all but 2 Banes and gets him a water ele. But Instead, he goes for some random Rag play.
its arguable which is the better play, but your path wouldve still left 9/10 in stats on his board and put very little pressure on the opponent while theyre already ahead, playing jana'lai was the greatest tempo swing he couldve done, forcing him to spend his turn dealing with ragnaros while also immediately healing for 8 thanks to the death knight. It also set up for a much cleaner dragons fury the following turn
@@AltProtomix is it though...because that rag play does not decrease the damage on the board 2/7 times and actually increases the damage 1/7 times. Another 1/7 times it hits Arfus. It also leaves behind Umbra and Deathrattle effects that can be taken advantage of. Over half the times the result sucks.
Also, you said that it sets up for a clean dragon's fury. It's only clean if the cairnes don't get traded in - and one of the cairnes was frozen. The only reason it ended up being so clean is because the Rag hit exactly the frozen cairne AND he ended up getting Sophia to go with it, which encouraged the trade.
However, if it wasn't for Sophia, it is likely that the Rogue would have decided to play around AoE and instead trades in Bane, leaving behind 2 more Cairnes if rag didn't get the 2/7 of hitting a cairne..
Playing Rag against such a large board is also extremely vulnerable to Vilespine. Now, I haven't played the game since halfway through the last expansion and do not know standard lists, but I would imagine Vilespine is still an auto include.
The water Elemental play only puts you 9 stats behind. What's more is that it cannot be effectively traded into by the 2 Banes due to the Freeze/Lifesteal and is much less vulnerable to Vilespine. It also removes Umbra, which is a huge threat and sets up a safer board to drop rag the turn after and potentially baiting out Vilespine to protect the Rag.
Can anyone expalin to me WHY the FUCK at 7:34 the Arfus and Cairne attacked when they have just been sumoned and even have ZZZZZ on them? This makes no senst but it seems noone reacted to that so where I'm wrong?

Yeah, Frost Lich does that to most decks. If you can't kill her immediately she's almost unbeatable with her combination of endless value + heals to not die. Much like Deathstalker Rexxar really.
Can't wait for the next set, when they;ll finally rotate out.

Zola is there for more value to copy the loa. If you want to keep up the value then you can try adding in servants of kalimos. They arnt great but it's something or try out astromancers if you have them.

Tried Odd Mage myself, I had to remove Zola because bouncing Jan'alai happened so rarely that it wasn't worth it. Also Zilliax didn't improve the deck's performance too much either.
Took the words right out of my keyboard. I ran the deck without those two (Astromancers instead) in Brawliseum and got 12-1.
Probably one of those cases where people convince themselves more expensive = better.
Zilliax was mainly useful for more Zoo type decks, where being able to kill something, potentially two things and gain more life is good.
That being said, I feel it's one of those card's that's so/so. It would be more effective if it had something to combo off
I took it the other way and used alanna too. More value for zola and it worked suprisinly well because they dont expect it in odd mage
Astromancer is pretty amazing. I probably run one too many blaze callers too, just don't have a baron gedon yet, never saw the point in crafting it.
