    Thank you so much for the tips, dear. As well as for the other subtle facts why people who are working to get the post should not give up and work harder 😊, you earned it out of odds

    I will be starting my Psychology undergraduate course in this september. I am so worried about getting jobs after I finish my course. This is actually scary ☹
    Just found your channel and I plan on watching all your videos!

      I guess it is early for you to decide where you want to branch at, but in Industrial Psychology you can find lots of work. If you want to stay in Clinical / Neuro fields, jobs there are scarce and more often you have to get some extra training to do them. I'd suggest hanging around the various Psychology reddits and watch what kind of jobs people do and how do they train to get there. Good luck!

    it's unreasonable that it is so hard to get onto the AP post, and to get onto the Dclinpsy, there is such a demand for psychologists and yet governments arent putting enough funding, that's where it comes to really, is about allocation of resources

    Hey! This is amazing, you hit the nail on the head! I work on ward, and half these jobs would disappear by the time I got home. I've also been in a position where the job was still advertised, pressed submit, 30 minutes later get an email saying your application has not been submitted due to the overflow in applications. Annoying as hell😒. But I finally been having some AP interviews, I have 2 more coming up, 1 of which consists of 8 panel members!??!? And also consists of a role play.
    If you have any availability, It would be amazing to know if you have any advice or tips in how I can prepare for the role play? It is for an IAPT service in the NHS. I think it's just making me even more nervous thinking about 8 panel members😐🤦🏼‍♀️
    Thank you 🙌

      The struggle is real! The best way to get specific help is to go on Facebook group assistant psychologists - UK and PWP experiences. Go to the search bar and search “role play”. Hope that will be more useful!

I'm hoping to eventually get onto the doctorate and Oxford is one of my choices so it would be so great to hear what its like!

      Hey - I’ve heard from other internationals that it’s very hard to work in the NHS if you need a visa, simply because the competition is so high even for those who are uk citizens!

    Hi! I got my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in the Philippines and I am a licensed Psychometrician. Can I land a job in UK in any mental health related job?

    • @Maria_D.
      @Maria_D. 3 года назад

      Unfortunately it would be very hard because not many mental health related employers are willing to sponsor visas. You could look for mental health support worker roles and see if any of them are willing to sponsor international applicants though.
      If you wanted to work as an assistant psychologist you would also have to either do a BPS accredited masters conversion psychology course, or find out if you can recognise your BA as an equivalent BPS accredited course (not sure how that works).

    If you get a AP as a work experience between your second and third year, and have a 2:1 postgraduate will that be enough to get into a doctorate. Many thanks

      +Maryan Omar it would be a good idea for you to have a look at the requirements for Doctorates from different uni’s. From what i’ve seen, placements in between years are honorary posts (not paid). To be eligible for the Doctorate, you need 1+ year of paid experience in an AP or similar role

    I honestly didn’t realise they were so hard to get on to. I am about to start as an honorary assistant psychology as a placement year between my second and third year. Is the fact that it is honorary make it less valuable compared to getting an actual assistant psychologist position post graduation? Do you think I would need to further pursue assistant psychologist positions after my third year before applying to the doctorate?
