A few questions if I may at what age did he start to play futbol? When did he know he wanted to start playing the role of GK? Does he ever want to play another position?
I forced him to play GK. I played for 20 years. He is a bigger kid and when the game got faster around 6-7 years old, it was either adapt or go play rec ball. So we went GK full time. Thankfully he doesn't hate it yet!
Funny you ask that right now. We've ordered two pairs of gloves from west coast and because of the finger save inserts, he can't get his wrist in both pairs we got him. So yes I do think they need it especially around 10 and 11 bc the shots are much harder but if your kid has big wrists, it might be trouble! When we took the inserts out, it did fit better.

What’s your thoughts on finger saves in the gloves for kids between 8-11

Sometimes I just kick with my toes so I suggest you sometimes use your toes😁
