  • Continuing on with the Pauline Paradox series in this part five, we spend some time going through Paul's letter to the Romans, one of his most difficult letters to understand. We uncover the context of the letter and then read through some of the more misunderstood verses, but keeping them in the context in which they were written to find out if Paul supports the ongoing validity of the Torah, or if he is against it for Christians today.

Thank you for such clear, thorough, and scripture based explanations. In this early stage in our faith, we must avoid separation over how authentically we manage to return to the accurate names of our Mighty One and his Salvation. We must also wake up to mistranslations ( the ten words/statements- not commandments….. and the 600 plus commandments/Mitzvot ( … not laws)… I grew up being told that there were Ten Commandments and that Mitzvot were acts of kindness…. No wonder even us ‘Jews’ or more accurately Yahudim ( of those who praise Yahweh)… live in such ignorance and are ‘stiff necked’. We don’t know who we should be.

Again guys, that was concise and accurate. Context is an essential consideration when understanding the scriptures! Shalom.

It’s also a major error that people make not knowing who the apostles were. Paul was a PhD level student of Torah. There is no way Paul would have abandoned Torah. He was shown his error in how he applied it in his judgements, and obviously the false witness against Yeshua was that he taught against the Torah. Excellent teaching. And amen to what you said. Shalom.

If you believe that the purpose of Paul and jesus ministries were to return people back to the word of God why do you put so much effort in studying what they preached as opposed to the actual word of YHWH or His Torah? When I look back to the word of God I see nothing that commands me to believe in a man or a messiah for salvation, forgiveness or eternal life. I see nothing where I am commanded to put my trust and faith in a man who died or even rose again. This is what Paul and jesus should have taught us:
Exo 20:2 I am YHWH thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.
Deu 6:4 HEAR, O ISRAEL: YHWH OUR GOD, YHWH IS ONE.
Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love YHWH thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
    Deu 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart;
Everything Paul teaches is predicated on the belief in jesus. Where does the word of God teach this? Anyone?

Notice all of their proof for this comes out of something that has been written down new when there is nothing new under the sun. Notice how there is a complete misrepresentation of what Messiah is. When we study the actual scripture we find that there have been many Messiahs and that in fact Israel as a whole is called the son of the creator that he brought out of Egypt through a messiah known as Moses or the deliver I really wish they would test everything including the dying and resurrecting demigod maybe he should be called Jesus Pantera or yahshua Pantera I find it interesting in the first place that Creator talks to human about Sin being at the door was Cain. I noticed your creator told him that he could overcome his wrongdoings. Which of course is to turn back from our wrongdoings and take hold of creators instructions . This ministry and series should be strictly tested by the Torah however they use the New Testament do not add to or take away just as we were told at the bottom of the mountain that day.

@@billyjackthestrong1604 If they would just" test everything" in Exodus 20: 1-3 they would see how Paul is full of it.

“We do what we believe to be true. In other words, if the Word of God is truth, then it is the Word of God that we do.”
That statement alone is 100%. In fact, at my school, they even said something to that same effect in our psychology courses regarding Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy: “In order to change how we behave, it’s important to change how we think.”

Let's look at two of our *senses.* Our eyes and our ears. We normally think of both "seeing" and "hearing" as physical senses. And they are. But the bible handles these a little differently. And it can be a bit complicated since they are both used figuratively. For example, a person can "see with the eye" or "hear with the ear" and still not perceive the truth with either one. But compare the following two verses carefully. They both involve the physical senses........
"While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2Cor 4:18
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Rom.10:17
Paul tells us that the things which can be seen with the *optical eye* are temporary. And the unseen things are eternal. But Paul NEVER said that about the things which are *heard.* Why? Because *words* are heard. And *words* are spirit. And the *word of God* is eternal.
You might object here and say that words can also be seen, i.e. the written word. But from a biblical perspective, this is not the case. Only the *symbols* are seen. The idea, the thought, or the truth, of any word came first. And it was first the "spoken word of God." God never wrote anything for Abraham that we know of. Nor did He ask Abraham to write anything down. The written language and symbols came later. The book of Genesis covers the first 2500 years of biblical history. But there is not much in Genesis about "reading" or "writing."
    Blessings
